Borderline Arts & Cultural Festival

Feis Paiteago Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th March 2020 Termon Complex Pettigo, Co. Donegal A project supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

Child Protection Statement

The festival committee believe that every child regardless of age has at all times and in all situations a right to feel safe & protected and we will take the following steps to ensure same: 1. We accept that it is our responsibility as a group to check that all adults with substantial access to children have been appropriately vetted. 2. We will hold a register of every child involved with the group and have a contact name and number in the case of emergencies 3. Treat everyone with respect and respect a child’s right to personal privacy. 4. Remember that some issues are confidential. 5. Tack action to stop any inappropriate verbal or physical behaviour 6. Ensure a group policy is in place for the collection of children after rehearsals and competitions have finished (all children must be picked up by a parent or pre-approved adult. Children permitted to walk home must bring in written authorisation from a parent or guardian.) 7. Encourage children to respect and care for others. 8. Upon receipt of any information from a child or suspicions, we will record what has been seen or heard accurately at the time the event occurs 9. We will where possible ensure that activities take place in a group format.

Festival Welcome

We are delighted to unveil the syllabus for the 2020 Borderline Arts and Cultural Festival – Feis Paiteago.

This year is our 14th festival and we are delighted to be back after a two-year hiatus with what will hopefully be one of our most successful festivals to date.

Each year we are amazed by the wealth of talent on display across

each of the festival competitions and to see the young artists grow in confidence year on year is a real testament to their families and teachers who help them prepare for the festival.

This year’s festival would not have been possible without the

continued support of ADoPT, and the support of the European Union’s Peace IV programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). In particular I would like to acknowledge Natasha McGrath for her continued assistance.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all

the schools and youth organisations that have supported the festival over the past few years and on behalf of the team I sincerely hope that you will support this year’s festival just as strongly – without your commitment it could not happen.

With warmest wishes

Siobhan O’Brien
