"GAMES COME THICK AND FAST AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR, AND WE WERE WELL PREPARED TO COME THROUGH THEM WITHOUT OVER-THINKING THINGS TOO MUCH"
GRANT McCANN GOOD AFTERNOON AND WELCOME TO THE KEEPMOAT STADIUM. I’D LIKE TO WELCOME KEITH HILL, AS WELL AS THE SUPPORTERS, PLAYERS AND STAFF OF ROCHDALE. I am having to write these prior to the Christmas fixtures due to print deadlines, but we went into the festive period in high spirits and in confident mood. Games come thick and fast at this time of the year, and we were well prepared to come through them without over-thinking things too much. I have now been here for six months, and feel like the club has progressed in that time. The credit for that should be spread around, with the staff, players and supporters all pulling together. It means that as we enter the second part of the season, we are in a good place to head into the second half of the season.
and staff all attended the funeral of Jake “Pieman” Power, this came as part of a bad run over a few weeks where some very popular supporters passed away in a short space of time. This was the only funeral we were able to attend due to timings, but was intended as a show of support to all our fans who had lost someone and ensure our players knew how important the club is to the local community. Hopefully today, and for the rest of the season, we’ll do them proud. Enjoy the game.
Today is a day where we as a club pause to remember those we have lost over the past 12 months with a minute’s applause. Earlier in the season the players

"WE ENTER THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW CONFIDENT THAT THE CHANGES WE’LL MAKE TO THE SQUAD WILL STRENGTHEN US AND GIVE US THE BEST CHANCE OF PROMOTION"
GAVIN BALDWIN GOOD AFTERNOON, AND WELCOME TO THE KEEPMOAT STADIUM. I’D LIKE TO WELCOME THE OWNERS, SUPPORTERS, PLAYERS AND STAFF WHO HAVE MADE THE TRIP ACROSS THE M62 FROM ROCHDALE. Today is a day where we remember those we have lost in the previous 12 months with a minute’s applause before kick-off. This is always an emotional occasion, and in the past year we have said goodbye to some very special supporters. Thank you, as always, for joining us in the commemoration. Due to print deadlines I have had to pen these notes before Christmas, and we headed into the festive period full of confidence. Whatever the outcome of the festive fixtures, we can be confident we head into 2019 in a good place. We have now had six months of Grant as manager, and I think everyone can see the great strides forward we have taken from then. We enter the January transfer window confident that the changes we’ll make to the squad will strengthen us and give us the best chance of promotion this season, but we’re also able to look further ahead. Enjoy the game.

R E T S I AL D R O F CRAW ALI CRAWFORD HAD A FRUSTRATING START TO HIS ROVERS CAREER, AFTER ARRIVING IN THE SUMMER FOR HIS FIRST TASTE OF THE EFL. After making his debut against Southend United on the opening day of the season, he was ruled out for two months with a knee injury picked up during that game. Since his return though he has settled in well to a competitive Rovers midfield, and says he knew he had to stay calm and wait for his chance to come. “The past month or two have been really good, I’ve managed to get in the team and stay there for a few games,” he says. “The results have been good as well which makes things easier, hopefully we can kick on now and stay in a good position.

“The main thing for me when I was coming back from injury was to not put too much pressure on myself and make sure I was ready.
“The manager gives the midfielders a freedom where you aren’t set to one position and you’re able to get about the pitch.
“It was all about biding my time and when my chance came I had to try and do well, thankfully that paid off for me.
“I like to get on the ball but it’s good to be able to improve different aspects of your game that you wouldn’t necessarily get elsewhere.”
“Last season at Hamilton I struggled with injuries, I’d return from an injury and then pick up another one so to pick something up on the opening day was disappointing.I was used to the feeling but coming to a new club it was different, I was still trying to impress having done quite well in pre-season.”
Crawford’s first goal for Rovers was a 30-yard stunner against AFC Wimbledon in November, in a game they went on to win 2-1 at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Before his return to first-team action, Crawford featured for the Rovers Development side in an attempt to give him much needed match fitness.
“The goal against AFC Wimbledon was great for me personally, at the time I didn’t realise how much space I had so I thought I may as well have a go,” he says.
The support of manager Grant McCann and how well the team were doing at the time meant that the 27-year-old couldn’t wait to be back playing. “The manager told me to keep my head up and that he signed for a reason, that’s what I wanted to hear and made me relax,” says Crawford. “The development games helped me because it got me minutes under my belt, it allowed me to find the rhythm needed for a first-team game. “It was hard to get back in the team because the midfield players had done really well, Herbie Kane has come in and been brilliant for us. “Ben Whiteman has been the glue for us all season, I knew it was going to be tough to get back in but now I’m there it’s important to stay there.

ISSUE 16 v ROCHDALE
He feels that is the moment he truly arrived in a Rovers shirt, after a frustrating start to his time with the club.
"THE MANAGER GIVES THE MIDFIELDERS A FREEDOM WHERE YOU AREN’T SET TO ONE POSITION AND YOU’RE ABLE TO GET ABOUT THE PITCH"
“Thankfully it went in the top corner, it was an important goal in the context of the game because it got us back into it just before half-time. “I think that goal probably introduced me to the Rovers fans, it was a massive confidence boost for me after my injury. “The fans have been great all season and even when we went through a tough spell they stuck with us and had faith that we would turn it around. “I’ve played in a couple of local derbies now and the Barnsley game was a good one, we were unfortunate not to get the win but a point was a good result.” Crawford has come into a Rovers squad which is full of potential, as well as being close-knit off the pitch. He has become good friends with Danny Andrew inparticular, who he says has helped him settle in as he gets used to life away from home. “I get on really well with Danny, it’s helped me settle in so much easier having him around the corner from where I live,” he says. “We do things outside of training as well and if he hadn’t been here then it could have been a bit tougher to settle in.
"IT’S IMPORTANT THAT WE ALWAYS TAKE ONE GAME AT A TIME BUT WE’RE ALL AWARE OF HOW BIG A PERIOD CHRISTMAS CAN BE IN FOOTBALL" “I’ve been living by myself since I signed here because my girlfriend is up in Scotland until next year so it can get quite boring at times. “Having something to do with one of the boys helps to get me out the house and gets me interacting with them. “Danny has been great and a lot of the other lads have as well, it’s a very close group and we enjoy spending time together.” Comparisons are often made between the level of Scottish football compared to the English game, and Crawford has identified plenty of differences having now sampled both sides. “There is a lot more travelling and more games compared to Scottish football, it’s a better standard with how we like to play,” he adds. “We get the ball down a lot and look to attack whereas when the weather deteriorates in Scotland they go very direct. “We have a lot of overnight stays throughout the season but that means we can all bond and build relationships with each other. “We’ve had a lot of cup games and midweek games which means we focus on recovery a lot, but it’s something I wanted to do to challenge myself. “For us it’s important that we always take one game at a time but we’re all aware of how big a period Christmas can be in football. “We know that if we maintain our standards then we are good enough to beat any team in this league, we’ve shown against the better teams that we can mix it with the best at this level.”

FOUR TO ROCHDALE
JOSH LILLIS TOP STOPPER
01
The stopper is currently enjoying his ninth season with Rochdale, joining the club after two loan spells before his permanent move in 2012. Lillis began his career with Scunthorpe United, helping them to reach the Championship twice in three seasons, but he struggled to hold down a place in the team later on in his time with the Iron. He spent loan spells away from Glanford Park at Notts County and Grimsby Town, before spending two loan spells with the Dale between 2009 and 2011. Like he did with Scunthorpe, Lillis helped Dale to two promotions, this time both up to League One, and he has established himself as their number one, being a virtual ever present over the past few seasons.
MATT DONE MIDFIELD MAESTRO
16
The midfield man is in his third stint with Dale after resigning back in the summer of 2017 on a two-year deal. After spells with Wrexham and Hereford United, Done signed for Dale for the first time in the summer of 2010 following their promotion to League One, making his debut against what would be his next club, Barnsley. After a season with the Tykes, Done returned to Spotland, hitting double figures in League One during the first half of the 2014/15 season. Twoand-a-half seasons with Sheffield United followed, in which he helped the Blades to the League One title in 2017, before his latest switch back across the Pennines, scoring eight goals in 57 appearances last term for Dale.

ISSUE 16 v ROCHDALE
TO WATCH KGOSI NTLHE DEFENSIVE ROCK
03
The South African international defender joined Dale from Stevenage in 2016. Ntlhe joined Peterborough United from Southside United in 2009, initially on a two-year apprenticeship before signing his first professional deal in February 2011. After seven years with the Posh, Ntlhe joined Stevenage in 2016, spending just the one season at the Lamex Stadium before his switch to Spotland. Ntlhe has also represented his home country at both youth and senior level, playing five times for the South African under-20 side in 2012, whilst making a solitary appearance for the senior squad the following year in a 1-1 draw with Morocco.
IAN HENDERSON DEADLY STRIKER
40
The experienced forward is in his seventh season at Spotland and he has gone on to become a real fan favourite amongst Dale fans. Henderson began his career with Norwich City, spending five years at Carrow Road, with a brief stint at Rotherham United in 2007 on-loan from the Canaries. Spells at Northampton Town and Luton Town followed, before a move to Turkey in 2009, where he spent six months with AnkaragĂźcĂź. He returned to England with Colchester United, scoring 26 goals in 130 appearances for the Essex-based side. A move to Rochdale in 2013 saw him help his current side to reach League One in his second season at the club, before scoring 22 goals in League One the season after, and he has helped Dale to establish themselves in the third tier in recent years.

THERE AREN’T TOO MANY CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THESE TWO CLUBS, BUT THERE IS ONE MAN WHO ESTABLISHED HIMSELF IN BOTH THE ROVERS AND DALE MIDFIELD DURING HIS TIME WITH BOTH SIDES. JOHN DOOLAN was a key figure in the Rovers midfield as they achieved back-to-back promotions from the Conference through to League One between 2003 and 2004. He began his career as a trainee with the club he supported as a young boy, Everton, however it wouldn’t be until 1994 when he made his professional debut after signing with Division Three side Mansfield Town. He spent four years with the Stags making over 125 appearances at Field Mill before making a move south to Barnet where he would enjoy another lengthy spell with a club, this time making over 175 appearances for the Bees between 1998 and 2003. It would be from Underhill that Doolan would sign for Rovers in March 2003, making eight appearances towards the end of the 2002/03 season. Doolan would be on the bench for the first ever Conference play-off final at what was then called the Brittania Stadium, home of Stoke City, as Francis Tierney scored a golden goal with 10
minutes of extra time left to play in a 3-2 win over Dagenham & Redbridge, with the goal being the first, and only, golden goal to win a side promotion, and Rovers would be back in the EFL for the first time since 1998. Doolan would then go on to be a virtual everpresent the following season as Rovers stormed to the Division Three title in 2004, making 41 appearances and scoring three times during that season as Rovers ensured they would be in League One for the first time in 16 years. He would have a further season at Belle Vue in Rovers’ debut year back in the third tier, again making 41 appearances and scoring three times in all competitions, helping them to consolidate a mid-table finish in League One, going on to sign for Blackpool in 2005 upon his departure that summer. Doolan joined Rochdale in January 2006 and spent two-and-a-half years at Spotland, making over 80 appearances for Dale, helping them to the League Two play-off final in his final season with the club, though he was unable to achieve a third promotion in five years as they were defeated 3-2 at Wembley Stadium by Stockport County. Following his departure from Spotland, Doolan took up a player-coach role with non-league side Southport in May 2008, and more recently he was back at Everton as a youth coach which would see his career come full circle as he returned to where his footballing career began. Current Dale assistant manager CHRIS BEECH is probably less well-known for his time with Rovers, spending two years with Rochdale between 2002 and 2004 before his move to Belle Vue. He would make just two appearances in a Rovers shirt in the 2004/05 season before closing out his career with Carlisle United. Beech has since spent the majority of his time amongst the backroom staff at Spotland, serving as youth team manager, as well as a brief stint as caretaker manager in 2011. He was appointed as Keith Hill’s assistant manager in 2013, and the following year he helped Dale to return to the third tier as they finished third in the League Two table. Alex Gibbings

ISSUE 16 v ROCHDALE
MEMORABLE MATCH ROCHDALE
NOVEMBER 22 2014 Rovers recovered from an early set-back as they came from behind to beat Rochdale 3-1 at Spotland back in November 2014. It was the hosts who got their noses in front inside the opening 10 minutes, as Matt Done ghosted into the area to head home. Dale broke down the righthand side, with no-one in a Rovers shirt getting anywhere near full-back Rhys Bennett. He floated the ball over the top for the on-rushing Done, and he beat the offside trap to glance a header past Sam Johnstone and give Dale the lead. Rovers came straight back at Dale after their early opener, with Kyle Bennett seeing his strike from outside the box saved well down low by Conrad Logan, however, it wouldn’t be long before Bennett and Rovers would find the equaliser. Bennett received the ball on the edge of the area after a cut back from James Coppinger, and he twisted and turned his way out of danger, freeing himself up space just inside the box to shoot across Logan and into the bottom corner, getting Rovers back on level terms after 25 minutes. Curtis Main would have a good chance just before the break to put Rovers in
front, however his shot from the middle of the area was again saved by Logan, with the Dale stopper doing his best to keep his side in the game. It would be an incident 10 minutes after the break on which the game looked set to be in Rovers favour, with Done undoing all his good work in scoring the opener by being sent off. He flew into a nasty looking challenge on Coppinger, right in front of the officials and the Rovers bench, leaving the referee with no option but to send Done off, and it would be from here that Rovers would take control.
Dale would eventually crumble under the pressure that Rovers had put them under five minutes from time, as Bennett cut inside to cross into the area, with the un-marked Theo Robinson able to head past Logan and give Rovers the lead. Rovers would seal three points just as the clock struck 90 minutes, with Reece Wabara’s low cross in neatly back-heeled in by Curtis Main, capping off a fine performance on the road for Paul Dickov’s men.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT? The victory away at Rochdale would be the first of three consecutive away games, with 1-1 draws against Crewe Alexandra and local rivals Barnsley respectively. A home defeat against Gillingham would be followed by a strong festive period, securing seven points out of nine, going on a seven-match unbeaten run in the process. Rovers would finish the season in 13th, at one point looking like threatening a play-off push in their first season back in League One following relegation the season before, however, poor end of season form would see them fall away from contention. Rovers would close their season out with a 5-2 win at home to local rivals Scunthorpe United, with a Nathan Tyson hattrick helping them on to three points on the final day. Rochdale would have a much stronger finish, missing out on the play-offs by six points, finishing 8th in League One under Keith Hill. Four defeats and one win from their final five games in the league would see them fall away from contention themselves. They would go even closer to a play-off position the following season, despite finishing two places lower in 10th, this time missing out on the top six by five points.

THE
NUMBERS GAME IN BRITAIN AT LEAST, THE NO. 13 IS ASSOCIATED WITH BAD LUCK, WHILE IN FOOTBALL IT IS USUALLY ASSOCIATED WITH BACK-UP GOALKEEPERS. IT MIGHT, OF COURSE, BE CONSIDERED BAD LUCK TO BE A SECOND-STRING GOALIE, ALTHOUGH ILL-FORTUNE IS NOT SOMETHING THAT OUGHT TO ACCOMPANY THE MAN BETWEEN THE POSTS. The first No. 13, STUART NELSON (2002-03) was deputy to Rovers’ established goalkeeper Andy Warrington, and he made only two appearances when Warrington was rested as Rovers prepared for the Conference play-offs. He left to join Hucknall Town at the end of the season, although since then he has enjoyed a decent career in the Football League with the likes of Brentford, Notts County, Gillingham and his current club Yeovil Town. For 2003-04 BARRY RICHARDSON, the goalkeeping coach operated as backup to Warrington, although he was not required to play for the first team. Centre-forward LEO FORTUNE-WEST (2004-06) had worn the No. 14 shirt when he arrived in the summer of 2003. The powerful striker, who had enjoyed promotion from the League’s bottom division with Gillingham, Rotherham United and Cardiff City, made a big impression, scoring 11 League goals (12 in total) as Rovers stormed to the Division Three title. He then decided to take over the No. 13 shirt, although it has to be said it did not bring him much luck. Over the next two seasons he scored only 11 more goals in 61 appearances, many as substitute and was hampered by a knee injury which needed surgery. In 2006 he left to join Rushden & Diamonds but he lives in the Doncaster area and remains a cult hero to many who saw him play. Young goalkeeper BEN SMITH (2006-10) was for a time first choice during the 2006-07 season but after Rovers signed Neil Sullivan, initially on loan then permanent, he became a regular back-up. The former Newcastle United trainee whose father Simon is a noted coach, had loan spells at Lincoln City and Morecambe before moving on to Shrewsbury Town in 2010. He now runs a restaurant business in that town with his wife.
Two more backup goalkeepers followed Smith in the No. 13 shirt during the 2010-11 season. Loanee BEN ALNWICK (2010) was on the bench for a couple of games in that season as was Youth Team goalkeeper JONNY MAXTED (2011, 2013-14). Maxted has an unusual, and probably unwanted, distinction of being named by Rovers as a substitute on 83 occasions without ever getting on the field. He later moved to Hartlepool United, where he also failed to appear but last season, after joining Accrington Stanley from non-League Guiseley he finally made his EFL debut. Another outfield player whose choice of No. 13 was perhaps unwise was RYAN MASON (2011-12) who returned on loan from Tottenham Hotspur after a successful spell the previous season. Mason scored his only goal for Rovers in a League Cup win over Tranmere Rovers but in the same game picked up a bad injury which ultimately restricted him to only five appearances that season. Subsequently he broke into the Spurs team and earned an England cap, but sadly his career was ended by a fractured skull while playing in the Premier League for Hull City. So to our current No. 13 MARKO MAROSI (2014date). The Slovakian born goalkeeper arrived from Wigan Athletic in 2014 and was back-up to the likes of Jed Steer, Sam Johnstone and Thorsten Stuckmann before finally breaking into the first team in 2016-17. Even then, an ankle injury caused him to lose his place to Ian Lawlor. Now finally he is Rovers first choice goalkeeper. Perhaps the No. 13 is lucky in Slovakia? JOHN COYLE

Hello everyone! HAPPY NEW YEAR! Our first game of 2019 is against Rochdale, so welcome to all our Lancashire visitors. I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and got lots of nice presents. I was lucky enough to go out with Santa when he was visiting Armthorpe as I was invited by my friends at Armthorpe Wolves, check out my photos. Our game against Southend on Saturday has been changed to February due to us playing Preston away in the FA Cup. I will see you all again in a couple of weeks.
Enjoy the game! Donny Dog DONCASTERROVERSFC.CO.UK

Today we host Rochdale in Sky Bet League One as we look to emulate the strong form shown in final few months of 2018. With attention on to today’s clash, we are delighted to welcome DC Training as the match sponsor. DC Training & Development Services Ltd specialises in delivering training and

SAFETY Three points is not the only priority today. Making sure everyone goes home safe is the most important result. Over recent months we have been working closely with the police and the EFL to review security at the Keepmoat Stadium. Now we are asking you to do your bit. It is vital that everyone - players, staff and supporters - remains vigilant and reports any concerns to stewards or police. Attacks might be rare, and the chance of you being caught up in one unlikely, but the message is ACT #ActionCountersTerrorism. Rovers safety officer Sam Ramsden said:
AD-105x148-Football Foundation.indd 1
"We want everyone to enjoy today’s game at the Keepmoat Stadium but if you see anything that causes you concern, tell a steward or staff member. Please do not worry that you might be wasting our time. "The stewards are here to help keep us all safe so please be patient and cooperate with their instructions. When it comes to security it has to be a team effort and we are all players." Here's a quick reminder of what you can do to help keep yourself and others safe: • Arrive early, allowing more time for security checks • Minimise what you carry, fewer bag searches will speed up entry to the ground
• Be vigilant at all times and if you see anything suspicious, tell a steward right away • If you see anything that could pose an immediate threat to safety, call 999 • In an emergency, listen to the public address instructions and follow them • If told to evacuate, do so immediately, do not wait around to film events on your mobile • Move right away from the stadium as quickly as possible for your safety and to allow clear access for any emergency vehicles • Once you are safe, follow the local police force on Twitter for updates To find out more, visit gov.uk/ACT or @TerrorismPolice

SUPPORTER LIAISON OFFICER DEAN MEDCALF GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES AND GENTLEMEN AND A WARM WELCOME TO THE KEEPMOAT STADIUM TO THE VISITING FANS FROM ROCHDALE. This season we have seen the ugly face of pyrotechnic rise its head again at several of our away games. Pyrotechnic devices such as flares, smoke bombs and fireworks are dangerous and it is a criminal offence to use these in football stadiums. Earlier this year all 72 English Football League clubs signed up to a new chairman’s charter with the EFL to tackle the use of these devices and to punish the people who use these devices. In conjunction with police forces around England, EFL clubs will take strong and decisive action against any supporter attempting to bring one of these banned items into a stadium. If a person is found to have used a pyrotechnic device consideration would be given to a prosecution and this will be followed by a three-year banning order from every stadium in the country being issued. I have spoken to many people regarding pyrotechnics over the years and surprisingly some people do not see any issues with these devices being used in stadiums. Someone has said to me before that no one ever gets hurt by them and I found this astonishing as many people have been burned, injured and scared because of the use of these devices, including a 15-year-old this season during a Championship game.
A story that relates to me was following a Rovers fixture several years ago where a smoke bomb was set off: following the game I was contacted by fan that was hospitalised for two weeks after inhaling this smoke, the supporter suffered from asthma and the smoke that was inhaled had a terrible effect on the person’s health and was close to being life-threatening. So just because the effects are not visible does not mean that they are not dangerous and they can even be lifethreatening. I would therefore ask please do not bring pyrotechnic devices to games as you never know how it could affect our fellow
supporters and everyone has the right to attend a football fixture and enjoy the match in a safe environment. For more information on the pyrotechnic charter please head over to the EFL website. As always I hope you all enjoy today’s game, if you have any questions then please contact me on the usual SLO social media accounts, @SLO_DRFC on twitter, DRFC SLO on Facebook or you can email me at dean.medcalf@ clubdoncaster.co.uk. We had a great win at home against Scunthorpe, and kept another clean sheet, our form is on the up at the moment. The notes were written preChristmas, so hopefully, we managed to get all the points against Oxford, Fleetwood and Gillingham. While many privately owned football clubs are well run, ours included, there are numerous examples over the years where this model of ownership has failed the supporters of that club, and has led to a number of clubs becoming either partly or fully owned by those supporters. The Minister Of Sport set up the Expert Working Group with the intention of looking at ways to improve engagement and dialogue between clubs and fans, and therefore to improve transparency and trust. The detailed recommendations from the EWG led to the government instructing the EFL and the Premier League to enter into structured dialogue with those supporters, and especially with the supporters trust at that club. As you may be aware the club hold two Meet The Owners events each year which meet the criteria set down by the EFL. On top of that the club have a Supporters Board which meets on a regular basis during the season to discuss a very broad range of topics. Suffice to say that DRFC have not only met the requirements but have exceeded them in both frequency and content, and that is something we can once again be proud of. Martin O'Hara

DONS' CHIEF EXECUTIVE CARL HALL IS LOOKING FORWARD TO HIS NEW ROLE AS AS THE VICEPRESIDENT OF THE RUGBY FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
He will take over in July, and replace Pat Crawshaw who currently holds the role. Tony Adams MBE has been nominated to become the 29th president of the Rugby Football League . The former Arsenal and England captain, who has become closely linked to the game’s welfare programmes through the Sporting Chance charity he founded in 2000, will succeed the current president Andy Burnham next summer. Carl said: “It is a real honour for myself, the Dons and Doncaster in general to be put forward for such a position - and to come out on top of the vote itself was amazing. “I am passionate about grassroots rugby league and improving what I think is the best sport in the world - so I hope I can use the position to advocate for those who are getting up early on a Saturday morning and heading out into their local fields, I want to champion the underdog.” Chris Hurst, a digital sports specialist who has worked for BBC Sport, the International Cricket Council, the

Premier League and Nielsen Sports, will join the RFL board as a non-executive director. Hurst succeeds Clare Morrow, who has served her maximum term after originally joining the board in 2008. Brian Barwick, the RFL chairman, said: “It is a pleasure to be able to confirm these three excellent additions to our team. “Tony Adams is known and respected throughout sport and beyond, not only for his outstanding playing career with Arsenal, but more recently for his pioneering work with Sporting Chance. “The charity has helped more than 400 rugby league players since the RFL entered into an official partnership with Sporting Chance in 2011, and Tony himself delivered seminars at Wigan and Hull earlier this year. “The game has recognised the importance of mental health, for players and everyone else involved, and Tony’s election is another significant step in that regard. “I also welcome the election as vicepresident of Carl Hall, who has given so much to British rugby league since arriving here from New Zealand 30 years ago. This is well-deserved recognition for him, and for the Dons.” Tony Adams said: “It will be an honour to become the next President of the RFL. I am passionate about working with everyone in the sport to raise the profile of mental health, wellness and resilience, for players and for everyone in Rugby League. “I’d like to play my part in championing this brilliant sport on the national stage.”

We also offer and anonymous ‘safe text’ service to enable supporters to report their concerns quickly and easily by text message.
Please send a text with your location and the location of the offence – e.g. block, row, seat - to 07825012850 with one of the following:
• • • •
STAND (standing up) HPH (homophobic chanting) DRINK (drinking alcohol in view of the pitch) PYRO (use of or intended use of any pyrotechnic or smoke bomb)
• FOUL (language & behaviour) • SMOKE (smoking in the stadium) • RACISM (racist chanting & shouting)
Each message costs one standard text at your local rate.
