"YOU HAVE BEEN FANTASTIC WITH US ALL SEASON AND MORE OF THE SAME IN WHAT WE HOPE ARE THE FINAL EIGHT GAMES OF THE CAMPAIGN CAN REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE"
GRANT McCANN GOOD AFTERNOON, AND WELCOME BACK TO THE KEEPMOAT STADIUM. I’D LIKE TO WELCOME DEREK ADAMS AS WELL AS THE FANS, PLAYERS AND STAFF OF PLYMOUTH ARGYLE. We showed a different side to our game at Bradford City, digging in and showing our battling qualities. We were determined to keep the clean sheet and ensure we got three vital points. That built on the wins over Bristol Rovers and Walsall and leaves us in a good position as we head into the final five games of the regular season. Your backing at Valley Parade was, once again, fantastic, with well over 1,000 supporters there. You have been fantastic with us all season and more of the same in what we hope are the final eight games of the campaign can really make a difference. On Sunday Cliff and I were lucky enough to join Matty Blair, John Marquis, Herbie Kane and other club staff in attending the EFL Awards in London. John and Herbie were deservedly named in the Sky Bet League One Team of the Year, while Blairy picked up the League
One PFA Community Player of the Year Trophy for the second year in a row. All three deserved their moment in the spotlight, as did the staff from our communications team and Club Doncaster Foundation as we were named Family Club of the Year. The commitment to community work really runs through this club, it was a big appeal for me in wanting to come here and we should all be proud of the work that goes on to ensure we grow our fan base and have a positive impact on the local area. Enjoy the game.

"FAMILIES ARE AT THE HEART OF EVERYTHING WE DO FROM THE BOARD TO THE PLAYERS, TO THE STAFF AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO CONTRIBUTES TO MAKING A TRIP TO THE KEEPMOAT STADIUM A MEMORABLE AND ENJOYABLE ONE"
GAVIN BALDWIN GOOD AFTERNOON AND WELCOME BACK TO THE KEEPMOAT STADIUM. I’D LIKE TO WELCOME THE SUPPORTERS, OWNERS, STAFF AND PLAYERS FROM PLYMOUTH ARGYLE WHO HAVE MADE THE LONG TRIP UP TO SOUTH YORKSHIRE. We go into today’s game in confident mood after last Saturday’s win at Bradford City, which was our third straight success. No one is taking anything for granted as we head into the final five games of the regular season, but if we maintain the approach we have seen in recent weeks then there is a real belief we will head into the play-offs with some momentum. Last Sunday evening I was delighted to join several members of our staff in attending the EFL Awards in London. It was a night of great pride for us as we were named the EFL Family Club of the Year, Matty Blair collected his trophy as League One PFA Community Player of the Year and there was recognition for Herbie Kane and John Marquis who were included in the League One Team Of The Year.
environment for everyone in the community. Families are at the heart of everything we do from the board to the players, to the staff and everyone else who contributes to making a trip to the Keepmoat Stadium a memorable and enjoyable one. 2018/19 has been an outstanding year of community work and family-focused activities at Rovers, but this is something we strive to achieve year on year and keep improving all the time. The things we do at this football club can really make a difference, that is shown by the design a third shirt campaign this season, things like that are very special. Enjoy the game.
It is the first time we have won the overall award as the most family-friendly club in the whole EFL and it is testament to the enormous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to make Rovers a welcoming

Y D N A R E L T BU ROVERS ARE FIVE GAMES AWAY FROM REACHING A TOP SIX SPOT AND EXTENDING THEIR SEASON INTO THE SKY BET LEAGUE ONE PLAY-OFFS. Club captain Andy Butler sees it as a challenge every player is excited for, with the potential reward of a place in the Championship next season. “We’re in sixth position but we feel like some of our performances merit being higher, we’ve maybe just not turned some of them into results over the course of the campaign,” he says. “We are where we are for a reason, being sixth in a league with 24 strong sides shows how much we have progressed. “At this stage of the season I think any team would prefer to have points on the board rather than relying on a game in hand. “There aren’t that many points to play for so I’d rather be in our position that anybody chasing us, we’ve got some home games coming up that we’re looking forward to. “To be where we are with a few games to go is already a good achievement given the amount of people writing us off at the start of the season.”

After defeat to Luton last month, questions were asked of Rovers’ character as they dropped to seventh on goal difference.
“We’ve been to Bradford and really had to grind it out, they played well and we had some defending to do but managed to find a way to get the win,” says Butler.
They responded emphatically though with back-toback wins over Bristol Rovers and Walsall respectively, scoring seven goals in the process.
“We’ve seen how tough it can be going up against teams who are fighting for their lives, anyone can beat anyone on their day.
Butler believes that was an indication of how determined the squad are to finish off the good work already done this season.
“We’ll give anyone we come up against the respect they deserve, but we’ll also have that confidence that we’re in the top six for a reason.
“I think the game against Luton was a real eye opener for us, it turned out to be a good thing the way we responded to that defeat,” he says.
“Plymouth will fancy their chances and it can work both ways when you’re fighting to survive, we will focus on ourselves and getting the win.”
“Both of the home games after that were vital to prove that we hadn’t gone too far away from the good work that got us into the top six.
With a five point gap between Rovers and seventh placed Peterborough United heading into the final handful of games in the regular season, their destiny is in their own hands.
“We can score goals for fun when we’re on the money, at Luton we didn’t show that but we know how good we can be. “The six points against Bristol Rovers and Walsall were massive because they allowed us to open up a good gap between ourselves and seventh place. “Self-belief is massive and with the players we’ve got in the squad we can hurt any team in this division.” Rovers take on a Plymouth Argyle side this afternoon who are one of a group of teams still not safe from relegation. Grant McCann’s side have shown different sides to their game in recent weeks, including a battling 1-0 victory against bottom club Bradford City last time out.

"WE’LL GIVE ANYONE WE COME UP AGAINST THE RESPECT THEY DESERVE, BUT WE’LL ALSO HAVE THAT CONFIDENCE THAT WE’RE IN THE TOP SIX FOR A REASON"
Butler says the concentration is always firmly on the next game, but with an anticipation of what picking up more wins could see them achieve. “I do believe that if we get in the play-offs at the end of the season then we’ll do really well in them, without jinxing it I think we’ve got a really good chance,” he says. “We’ve done well against most teams around us apart from Charlton away, teams above us could change positions and there are a few different outcomes for who we could face. “First and foremost though we need to get in there, and if we keep working hard and taking things game by game then we’ll be where we want to be. “It would be a tough ask for us to catch Charlton in fifth so our job is simplified slightly by the fact that we know we’re fighting for sixth place. “There is nothing better than getting promotion at Wembley, the experience of being there and seeing all the fans is sometimes better than going up automatically.”
"THAT YOUTHFUL EXUBERANCE IS GOOD TO HAVE, THEY WANT TO IMPRESS BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY COULD BE PART OF SOMETHING REALLY EXCITING HERE" Given the strong competition for places throughout the Rovers squad, everyone is ready to step in and take their chance when called upon. Despite an injury to Joe Wright, Butler is still fighting for his place in the team alongside fellow central defenders Paul Downing and Tom Anderson. That is something that he relishes though, and says the strength in depth brings the best out of him and the rest of the players. “Everyone is as important as anyone else in the dressing room, we’ve got boys in there who have really stepped up,” he adds. “As one of the more experienced players I help as much as I can, but the younger players help me just as much. “That youthful exuberance is good to have, they want to impress because they know they could be part of something really exciting here. “I know I’m not a young player and I appreciate every game I play, I had to wait for my chance when Paul and Tom were doing well but I didn’t mind that because I wanted the team to do well. “It’s a team effort rather than it being about individuals, I want to be part of a winning team where nobody is guaranteed a place in the team. “I’ve got a good few years on the other defenders here so there will be a time when they take my place, but it’s up to me to keep myself fit and there is no chance of me giving up my place easily.”

FOUR TO PLYMOUTH ARGYLE
MATT MACEY TOP STOPPER
01
The towering stopper is on a season-long loan from Premier League giants Arsenal. Macey initially came up through the ranks at Bristol Rovers before being spotted by the Gunners in 2013. He made his Arsenal debut in a League Cup game against Norwich City at the Emirates Stadium, before making his European debut in the Europa League just over a week later during 2017, keeping a clean sheet against Red Star Belgrade. Macey had previously spent time on loan at both Accrington Stanley and Luton Town before his move to Home Park, and barring a brief spell out with an injury, he has been the Pilgrims’ number one stopper during this current campaign.
GRAHAM CAREY MIDFIELD MAESTRO
10
The Irish midfielder joined the Pilgrims in 2015 after spending much of his early career playing in the Scottish leagues. Carey began his career with Celtic, making his debut against Rapid Vienna in the Europa League in 2009, also spending time on loan at Bohemians in his native Ireland, as well as spells as St Mirren and Huddersfield Town. St Mirren would be the destination for his first permanent move in 2011, helping them to win the Scottish League Cup in his second season before going on to join Ross County in 2013. It would be with the Staggies where Carey would first link up with his current boss Derek Adams, and those two would link up again when Carey signed for the Pilgrims in 2015, helping them to the League Two play-off final in his first season before being named in the Team of the Year in 2017, alongside James Coppinger and John Marquis and they were promoted to League One alongside Rovers.

O WATCH RYAN EDWARDS DEFENSIVE ROCK
05
The Liverpudlian centre-back bravely returned from testicular cancer over the summer, scoring on his return to league football on the opening day of this season. Edwards began his career with Blackburn Rovers, enjoying loan spells at Rochdale, Fleetwood Town and Chesterfield, before making a permanent move to Morecambe. He would spend three years at the Globe Arena, making over 100 appearances for the Shrimps before his move to Devon. Edwards made 30 appearances for the Pilgrims in his first season, scoring four times, including the equalising goal in a 1-1 draw at the Keepmoat Stadium against Rovers in what would turn out to be his final game of last season. After his spell away, Edwards came back stronger and scored the opening goal in a 2-1 defeat away at Walsall to cap off a remarkable return to the game.
FREDDIE LADAPO DEADLY STRIKER
19
The Pilgrims’ attacking focal point is a man bang on form this season, being one of the leading goal scorers in Sky Bet League One this season. Ladapo began his career with Southend United and Colchester United before going on to join Kidderminster Harriers in 2014. A move to Margate the following year would be a very successful one, scoring 23 times in the season which would see his talents picked up by Premier League side Crystal Palace, making his topflight debut against Manchester United in September 2017. After loan spells with Oldham Athletic and Shrewsbury Town, Ladapo would rejoin Southend on a permanent deal in 2018. He signed a contract with the Pilgrims upon his release from Roots Hall last summer, and after a slow start, six goals in five games across the month of October really saw Ladapo really kick on.

THREE MEMBERS OF THE SIDE THAT HELPED ROVERS TO PROMOTION AT THE FIRST ATTEMPT FROM LEAGUE TWO DURING THE 2016/17 SEASON MAKE UP THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE TWO SIDES. The first of those is a man currently on the books at Home Park, with CONOR GRANT spending two spells on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium from Premier League side Everton. A former England under-18 international, Grant arrived in Doncaster on loan during the 2015/16 campaign, scoring a 20-yard curler on his debut in a 2-0 win over Colchester United. He also scored twice as Rovers progressed through to the third round of the FA Cup after a 3-1 win away at Cambridge United, the second of which was another stunner to help his loan side through. Grant returned for a second spell on loan in the second half of the 2016/17 season after spending the first half of it at Ipswich Town, and he scored his only goal in 21 appearances in a 3-1 win over Crewe Alexandra. It would be with Crewe where Grant would spend the first part of last season on loan, before a permanent move away from Goodison Park where he would join Derek Adams’ Pilgrims ahead of the start of this current campaign. The second connection between the sides would have more of an impact in Rovers’ promotion push, with JORDAN HOUGHTON spending the 2016/17 season on loan from Chelsea here in DN4. Houghton had previously enjoyed a loan spell with the Pilgrims during the previous campaign, with Argyle reaching the League Two play-off final in 2016, though the midfielder wouldn’t make it off the bench in their defeat to AFC Wimbledon at Wembley Stadium. Houghton spent two seasons on loan here in South

Yorkshire, scoring his first goal against Leyton Orient and going on to play a key role in Rovers promotion back to League One, before an injury against Luton Town in February 2017 ended his first spell, though he played a massive part in securing a return to the third-tier at the first attempt. He would return for a second stint in August that year, scoring in the 6-2 win over Ebbsfleet United in the first round of last season’s FA Cup. Houghton now plies his trade with Milton Keynes following his departure from Stamford Bridge, joining up with another former Rover in Mathieu Baudry at Stadium:MK, scoring his first goal from distance in a 1-1 draw away at Mansfield Town back in October. The final connection between the two sides comes in the form of AARON TAYLORSINCLAIR, with the Scottish defender starting his career at Aberdeen before joining Montrose in 2008. After three years with Montrose, he would then sign for Partick Thistle, making over 100 appearances there before his move south of the border to Wigan Athletic.
Taylor-Sinclair though would fail to make a league appearance for the Latics, and instead switched to the Keepmoat Stadium in 2015, scoring goals in wins over Blackpool and Southend United, though an injury on the final day of the 2015/16 season saw him spend much of the League Two season on the side lines. After returning for the final few weeks of the season with promotion already achieved, Taylor-Sinclair would then move on to Devon, joining the Pilgrims who had also won promotion to League One alongside Rovers, making 24 league appearances for Adams’ men last term. Taylor-Sinclair moved back north of the border to join Scottish Premiership side Motherwell ahead of the start of this current campaign, though he has since returned to the EFL, joining Crewe Alexandra back in January and scoring his first goal for the club in a 3-1 defeat at home to Cheltenham Town last month. MEMORABLE MATCH PLYMOUTH ARGYLE
SEPTEMBER 23 2017
Rovers ended their six-game winless run in style as they eased to a win over Plymouth Argyle at Home Park back in September 2017. Rovers went into the game off the back of a brave performance away at the Emirates Stadium, losing 1-0 to a strong Arsenal side, but their confidence from that game clearly carried over as they took on-board what they learned against Premier League opposition to out-class the Pilgrims. The visitors were dominant from start to finish, with John Marquis having the first attempt on goal, but Argyle keeper Luke McCormick got across well to save. It wouldn’t be long though before Rovers did edge in front, as James Coppinger’s corner caused havoc in the Pilgrims’ penalty area. Alfie May’s shot hit the crossbar, but with the ball bouncing about across the six-yard box, Andy Butler got down to lift a header over everyone in a green shirt and into the back of the net, handing Rovers a deserved lead. Plymouth tried to get a foothold in the game just before the break, with Antoni Sarcevic breaking through the middle. His chipped effort beat Ian Lawlor but couldn’t dip under the bar, with the ball grazing the roof of the net, and after the break Rovers would take complete control. Another Coppinger corner would be Argyle’s undoing, with Joe Wright stooping to head on goal, with McCormick spilling
the defender’s header into the path of Marquis. It would be a gift that Marquis would be happy to receive, and he obliged by smashing the ball into the roof of the net to double Rovers lead. May would then have two great chances to add a third, the first of which was ruled offside after a shot from Coppinger was spilled once more by McCormick, before his curler from the edge of the box went just wide. He wouldn’t have to wait too long to get
his name on the score sheet though, as he added the finishing touch to Rodney Kongolo’s low cross into the area, and he tapped the ball past McCormick and into the far corner to seal the three points for the visitors. Argyle’s afternoon would go from bad to worse in the final 10 minutes, with Sonny Bradley getting into a tussle with Butler, and his frustrations had clearly boiled over as he struck the Rovers defender in the back, with referee Nick Kinseley given no option but to send him off.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT? Rovers were unable to build on the away win, as they lost in the last minute the following Tuesday at home to Shrewsbury Town, despite being 1-0 up, with Arthur Gnahoua striking in the 94th minute to snatch three points. They then travelled to face Bradford City for a second time that season, this time in the league, where the Bantams gained revenge for their Carabao Cup defeat with a 2-0 win at Valley Parade. Rovers would get a win of their own in the next match, with Ben Whiteman stealing the show with a 10-minute hat-trick against Southend United in October. The Pilgrims were left firmly in the relegation zone after the defeat, and they would only climb out of the bottom four in midDecember, during which time they were on a run which would see them lose just once in 16 games, winning five games out of five in February. They managed to get as high as fifth, a position which just before Christmas seemed unlikely, however they missed out on the final play-off position by just three points, with Argyle finishing in seventh on 68 points.

NUMBERS GAME SINCE ROVERS INTRODUCED SQUAD NUMBERS BEFORE THE 2002-03 SEASON, FEW SHIRTS HAVE BEEN PASSED AROUND AS MUCH AS THE NO. 22. 19 DIFFERENT PLAYERS HAVE WORN THE NUMBER AND A FAIR FEW HAVE NEVER MADE IT AS FAR AS THE FIELD OF PLAY. The first No. 22 had a brief career indeed: ALAN MORGAN (2002-03), a midfielder signed from Tranmere Rovers played only three times before departing for Morecambe. His successor, KEITH FOY (2003), a former Nottingham Forest defender, had an even briefer stay, appearing just once in the first team. Youth Team product JON MALONEY (2003-05) held on to the shirt for a couple of seasons, although the young defender made only four appearances before going to study at the University of Alabama. The next three No. 22’s were all goalkeepers. The six feet nine inch tall Dane, TONNY NIELSEN (2005-06) joined Rovers before the start of the 2005-06 season along with compatriot Jan Budtz. Although named on the bench 15 times, Nielsen never got as far as appearing in the first team. In 2006-07 loan keepers JON FILAN (2006) and NEIL SULLIVAN (2006) wore the No. 22 briefly, but when Sullivan returned to the club for a second spell in the same season he opted to take on the No. 1 shirt vacated by Andy Warrington. Sullivan’s choice opened the way for the shirt to pass to the player with one of the briefest first team careers in Rovers’ history. JONPAUL PITTMAN (2007) was on the field for only a minute as a late substitute in a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie in 2006-07, the season Rovers won the competition. The striker, who had rather more fruitful spells with Crawley Town, Wycombe Wanderers and Grimsby Town, did at least have the distinction of sharing the pitch with James Coppinger. When centre-back MATT MILLS (2007-08) joined Rovers on loan from Manchester City he was allocated the No. 22 shirt and wore it when he helped Rovers gain promotion to the second tier for the first time in 50 years via a Wembley play-off final victory over Leeds United. On signing permanently the following season, Mills chose to wear the No. 5, and No.
22 passed to goalkeeper KYLE LETHEREN (2008-09), who never actually got to appear in a first team game. Northern Irish midfielder DEAN SHIELS (2009-12) opted to wear the No. 22 before the start of the 2009-10 season and provided some longevity. Shiels, who won one of his 14 Northern Ireland caps while with Rovers, made a total of 88 appearances and scored 10 goals during his two-and-a-half seasons at the Keepmoat, before moving to Kilmarnock. The 2011-12 season was one of turmoil for Rovers, featuring the sacking of manager Sean O’Driscoll, the ill-fated Willie McKay “experiment” and eventual relegation. One of the better experiment players, the French winger FABIEN ROBERT (2012) wore the No. 22 shirt in this season. Rovers bounced straight back in 201213, winning the League One title on a dramatic final day. The No. 22, New Zealander CAMERON HOWIESON (201213), on loan from Burnley, was named as a substitute eight times but never appeared. Striker THEO ROBINSON (2013-14) had the shirt for Rovers one-season stay in the Championship and then passed it to full back REECE WABARA (201415), who had previously worn No. 32. Indeed, since Shiels, No. 22 has been worn for a maximum of one season only, CONOR GRANT (2015-16), WILL LONGBOTTOM (2016-17) and ALFIE BEESTIN (2017-18) all taking turns to wear the number. This season it has been worn by both Peterborough United loanee JERMAINE ANDERSON (2018) and now by recent recruit KIERAN SADLIER (2019). Maybe Sadlier will provide the number with the sort of longevity Shiels did. JOHN COYLE

COMMERCIAL GOOD AFTERNOON AND WELCOME BACK TO THE KEEPMOAT STADIUM AS WE HOST PLYMOUTH ARGYLE IN SKY BET LEAGUE ONE.
Grant McCann urged his team to provide a quick response after the loss at Luton, and a quick response is exactly what they have produced. Ruthless displays against Bristol Rovers and Walsall respectively saw McCann’s side put away seven goals to bring home six valuable points and put them right back into the play-off mix, and then building on that with victory at Bradford City. We’re back on home soil again today as we host Argyle in the hope of more of the same from Rovers. We are delighted to welcome today’s match sponsors, Visit Doncaster. Equipped with the expertise and the knowledge to give you the most upto-date advice on Doncaster and the surrounding areas, Visit Doncaster help you experience the Yorkshire town to its full potential. Doncaster's Tourist Information Centre is a well-established landmark within the town centre. We also wish a warm welcome to today’s matchball sponsors, IFS Risk Solutions. Established in 2016, the management team have a combined industry experience of more than 60 years and have seen the business grow exponentially, with an insurance portfolio worth more than £4.5million in the UK market through a variety of specialisms. We hope both our sponsors have a fantastic time with us today here in the Jibba Jabba restaurant. There are so many ways you can take advantage of the fantastic commercial opportunities at Club Doncaster, including ways to showcase your business, impress clients or relax with family and friends. SAFETY Three points is not the only priority today. Making sure everyone goes home safe is the most important result. Over recent months we have been working closely with the police and the EFL to review security at the Keepmoat Stadium. Now we are asking you to do your bit. It is vital that everyone - players, staff and supporters - remains vigilant and reports any concerns to stewards or police. Attacks might be rare, and the chance of you being caught up in one unlikely, but the message is ACT #ActionCountersTerrorism. Rovers safety officer Sam Ramsden said:
AD-105x148-Football Foundation.indd 1
"We want everyone to enjoy today’s game at the Keepmoat Stadium but if you see anything that causes you concern, tell a steward or staff member. Please do not worry that you might be wasting our time. "The stewards are here to help keep us all safe so please be patient and cooperate with their instructions. When it comes to security it has to be a team effort and we are all players." Here's a quick reminder of what you can do to help keep yourself and others safe: • Arrive early, allowing more time for security checks • Minimise what you carry, fewer bag searches will speed up entry to the ground
• Be vigilant at all times and if you see anything suspicious, tell a steward right away • If you see anything that could pose an immediate threat to safety, call 999 • In an emergency, listen to the public address instructions and follow them • If told to evacuate, do so immediately, do not wait around to film events on your mobile • Move right away from the stadium as quickly as possible for your safety and to allow clear access for any emergency vehicles • Once you are safe, follow the local police force on Twitter for updates To find out more, visit gov.uk/ACT or @TerrorismPolice

SUPPORTER LIAISON OFFICER DEAN MEDCALF GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES AND GENTLEMEN AND A WARM WELCOME TO THE KEEPMOAT STADIUM, AND A WARM WELCOME TO ALL THE VISITING FANS FROM PLYMOUTH.
I would like to thank all the Rovers fans who made the recent trip to Bradford, I hope you all had a safe journey and enjoyed the game.
Walsall fans and to pass on some information to the travelling fans to tell them where they could buy tickets, where the Belle Vue Bar is.
At our last home game against Walsall, Rovers hosted our annual Junior Takeover Day which is always a highlight of the season. For the second time, we had a junior supporter liaison officer as Lucy and her dad joined me for the day. The day started with members of the Rovers staff being introduced to their junior staff member and once I had met Lucy, we headed off for a chat to discuss what the SLO role was and what our day would include. We then took to twitter to post a welcome message to the
Once we had posted our information out, we went on a tour of the stadium to have a look around and a chance to show Lucy where the away fans can buy tickets from in case we needed to point anyone in that direction later on. We also had time to have a quick chat with one or two of the players as they were arriving at the Stadium. After this, we went on to meet and greet both the home and visiting fans as they started to arrive and to see if there was any way we could help or assist.
It was a great day as the Junior Takeover days always are, I would like to thank Lucy and her dad for joining me for the day and I hope that everyone involved had a great day. As always I hope you all enjoy today’s game, if you have any questions then please contact me on the usual SLO social media accounts, @SLO_DRFC on twitter, DRFC SLO on Facebook or you can email me at dean.medcalf@ clubdoncaster.co.uk. Football is the national game, and football supporters are the lifeblood of the game. While many privately owned football clubs are well run, ours included, there are numerous examples over the years where this model of ownership has failed the supporters of that club, and has led to a number of clubs becoming either partly or fully owned by those supporters. The Minister Of Sport set up the Expert Working Group with the intention of looking at ways to improve engagement and dialogue between clubs and fans, and therefore to improve transparency and trust. The detailed recommendations from the EWG led to the government instructing the EFL and the Premier League to enter into structured dialogue with those supporters, and especially with the supporters trust at that club. As you may be aware the club hold two Meet The Owners events each year which meet the criteria set down by the EFL. On top of that the club have a Supporters Board which meets on a regular basis during the season to discuss a very broad range of topics. Suffice to say that DRFC have not only met the requirements but have exceeded them in both frequency and content, and that is something we can once again be proud of. Martin O'Hara

FOUNDATION UP As part of its mission to have a greater impact on the community, Club Doncaster Foundation has seen many of its staff members opt to cycle on their commute to work. In partnership with Love to Ride, who celebrated Ride to Work Week recently, the Foundation has seen an increase in staff who travel to and from the Keepmoat Stadium on bikes. Staff at the Foundation are aiming to get as many people as possible cycling throughout the Doncaster region, and has turned to its staff to lead the way. Club Doncaster Sports College deputy principal Joe Burton is an avid cyclist. His impact has seen his fellow colleagues, Mark Ellames, Will Biggs and Ian Dabell, also cycle for their commutes to work. Mark, a sports lecturer at the College, has been determined to begin cycling to work, with Ride to Work Week being the perfect opportunity for him to start. He said: “As I live a 15 minute drive from the stadium, I've always jumped in the car out of habit. “Since borrowing a bike from Scott, I have found that not only do I avoid the traffic, but I have noticed my body fat percentage has reduced and my overall health has improved." Staff at the Foundation have been active supporters of Love to Ride, having taken part in Cycle September Winter Wheelers in the past 12 months, winning an award for the former. Health and wellbeing officer Scott Copeland said the Foundation will continue to run courses encouraging

people to cycle as it “makes a huge difference to people’s mentality”. He said: “It’s great to support Bike to Work Week as it can be a catalyst for people to change their travel behaviours. Having access to bikes from the Bike Library allows us to offer interested parties a risk-free trial which we hope will initiate a long-term change. “We have been a huge supporter of Love to Ride and recognise them as a way to connect and motivate people in the modern age. On top of the benefits of cost saving, improved physical and mental wellbeing our participants like the team element and find that contributes to their motivation.”
Love to Ride UK continues to partner up with organisations across the UK, offering amazing gifts for those taking part in their cycling campaigns including bikes, trips aboard and cycling accessories. For anyone wanting to get into cycling or learn more about other opportunities the Foundation are able to offer through the partnership with Doncaster Council, please contact Scott Copeland on 01302 764663. Twenty-six children took over when Rovers hosted Walsall in Sky Bet League One in the last game at the Keepmoat Stadium. Club Doncaster Foundation gave primary school students from across Doncaster the opportunity to take over some of the most exciting roles at Rovers, including first-team manager, players, groundsman, media manager, head of operations, chief executive, marketing assistant, photographer, referee, stadium announcer and many, many more. The children contributed to a fantastic day at the Keepmoat Stadium delivering a wonderful atmosphere for supporters of both teams. The 2019 Junior Takeover marked the fifth time the annual event had taken place at the Keepmoat Stadium. It grows year-on-year and allows young
people to enjoy moments of magic and behind the scenes access at a Rovers match. Foundation sport development officer Kelly Jackson-Powell said: “Junior Takeover Day is one of our best projects and is one that we are immensely proud of. “Being able to put smiles on the kids’ faces and watch them make memories they can tell their friends and family about sums up why we do it. “For many of the children who take part, it really is a once in a lifetime opportunity and allows them to, not only engage with this family football club, but also inspire them to explore future careers.” Rovers’ staff were hugely complimentary of their junior counterparts making it a wonderful day for all involved and one of the highlights of the season.
