It would have been ambitious to predict that in ten years, Tom&Co would boast a portfolio of over thirty clients, processing over £200 million in sales and hitting half-a-billion page views in a calendar year. It is down to Tom&Co’s team who work so hard to create best in class websites, time and time again. The title alone answers why it would mean such a big deal for us to win this award. In 2019, Perfume Direct launched and took the UK market by storm. They offer a simple-to- use website that allows customers to browse through various ranges of perfumes and aftershaves in categories such as floral, fruity and spicy fragrances. Within 12 months of trading the company had gone from strength-to-strength with sales increasing steadily month on month thanks to referrals on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram combined with other online review sites such as Trustpilot. They were now starting to compete at the top table and needed to strengthen the brand and website UX to become a super power in the UK fragrance game.

Using all the data and learnings from their first 18 months in operation as a springboard, Tidal came on board, analysed the previous data, carried out research on leading brands in the same competitive space and then went on to craft a world class website which went on to deliver insane returns for the client. As a result of which they have now become a leading player in the online perfume and aftershave space in the UK. A Global eCommerce Award would reward the hard work invested by both sides and really help to cement this project as one of the best to have taken place in the UK in the last 12 months.

Founded in 1959, Hotter Shoes is the UK’s biggest footwear manufacturer.
Hotter Shoes Striding into 2021
Making over 1.3 million pairs of shoes each year, the Lancashire-based specialist footwear brand employs over 400 across its business and boasts over 4m loyal customers. As the Coronavirus pandemic hit in Spring 2020, Hotter needed to urgently adapt to the changing retail environment and turbulence on the high street. Knowing it needed to adapt its strategy, Hotter worked quickly to discard its traditional retailer roots (whose sales were predominantly driven by its 82 physical stores), successfully accelerating its long-term retail channel strategy to become an omni-channel retailer leaning on the digital retail landscape and growing online retail sector. The risk paid off, as Hotter went on to post a 27% leap in online sales and a turnover of £45m (2020). As one of the only retailers to come through the pandemic unscathed, and in a more successful position than it entered, Hotter went on to start 2021 as a profitable, scalable, online business. Today, the brand has forecasted a growth of 25% for 2021, and has announced its intention to float on London Stock Exchange’s junior AIM market in the fourth quarter of 2021.

They had a great overview of performance improvements and growth as a result of the initiatives they took.
