HONOR AND GLORY by sorez the scribe
We shall never forget those who paid the price Men and women who took on the ultimate sacrifice owning our debt of freedom with their lives As well as those who never really came home Existing in the midst of honor and sorrows Living with memories that cannot be erased Does not matter how many years or miles go by They are not and will not ever be very far From our hearts in our minds and a part of us And when there is another soul that departs The send-off is done with the deepest of respect Earned and deserved With integrity and dignity Carried out with the utmost regard for the fallen honor guard of brothers two by two side by side In a procession of bikes that goes on for miles Then Silence deafens the moments with sorrow Brother’s Heads bowed as rifles point to the sky Family honored by the depth of gratitude shown A memory that will forever live on and onward In the hearts and minds of all those attending especially the children who knew their loved one Close enough to hug have come to the realization That The one who has touched their hearts deep shall never be forgotten by others as well As their grandpa journeys honor and glory bound
