LETTER FROM THE EDITOR… Welcome to EPISODE 1 of CHICK SCENE MAGAZINE (CS). When we dreamt of creating a new magazine for WOMEN, we wanted to avoid all of those crazy common stereotypes and labels that advertisers and marketers have a tendency to place us in. We did not want to be a magazine just for “Moms”, just for single or career women…or any other specific Demographic for that matter. Hence, a new genre of magazine was born- CHICK SCENE MAGAZINE, Zen Fashion for Life: A Mind, Body & Spirit Makeover! Sure the Webster’s Dictionary description of CHICK is a “young bird” or “hip girl/woman”…but actually what CHICK symbolizes to us is Charity, Hope, Inspiration, Community and Karma. This is our Mission and we want to inspire other women to walk in CHICK- shoes as well and spread love through deed. Our vision is to create a dynamic sanctuary for women from all over the world and in every walk and stage of life to network and empower each other. From Meditation to Manolos, our readers will enjoy topics of female interest from an honest perspective, and have a safe place and platform to connect, share and inspire each other through stories and personal journeys. CS encourages you to laugh, think, vent, cry and empathize. In each Episode you will be surprised, entertained and educated. We want to address the commonalities that make us such a unique group and prolific gender. Most importantly, we want you to be an interactive part of our growth. CS takes you behind the scenes and the seams as we discuss current events, female issues, drop-dead fashion and provide you with tips and tools on how to tackle life in STYLE. Face it, we women are currently experiencing something pretty cool right now in our culture, I mean come on! We have a woman campaigning for the top job in the country (Hello! President), female Bloggers now outnumber men and we’ve got the fabulous Tina Fey on our side! CS intends on being an integral and vital part of this present SHERO movement that is clearly here to stay. What you won’t find in CS are those ridiculous “Don’ts”, Celebrity “gossip”, what NOT to wear or crash-diet tips. WHAT YOU WILL FIND are the latest product reviews; the hippest fashion from Runway to Real life; Informative features; De-Stress Tips; Om for your Home; Canine Couture; Inspiring Poetry; Eco-Chic fashion and Green lifestyle tips; The latest scoop on the Music & Art Scene; Advice on love, sex and relationships from A REAL MAN (AKA: “What was I thinking? What is HE thinking?”); trade secrets and resources from our stylists and so much more.
CS is your style bible on how to draw abundance into your life, the lives of others and look fabulous doing it! REAL TOPICS FOR REAL WOMEN.

ONCE UPON AN ARTIST…. COVER FEATURE: INGER OSTROM
“I believe that with “Intent” behind all that I do and all that I dream, I will become the person that I strive to be.”-Ing
AMBASSADOR OF BROKEN Words & Music by Ing “Run through the fields of tall grasses, Put your dream catchers up into the trees, As you try to believe in yourself and all the words that fall out of your mouth, You’re pulling all the petals off of your daisy, Now your drive in your car down Montana Blvd. to meditate with Buddha under a palm tree, As you look out to sea, you want the waves to set you free and all the colors, all the colors to erase the pain and the misery…”

ONCE UPON AN ARTIST….
INGER OSTROM You’ve just gotta love a girl whose favorite food is a cup cake and whose favorite quote is “If it ain’t broke…why fix it?” INGER
OSTROM (You can call her “ING”) brought her diverse talent as a visionary artist, singer/songwriter and Makeup Artist to Los Angeles from Port Chester, New York at the “glorious age of discover” - ONE! Since then, she has graced the world with her talent as a Makeup Artist by traveling with German Playboy, stylizing all of the “BLUSH” magazine covers shown in the hit series, “JUST SHOOT ME” and currently making-up and over all of the famous celeb faces for “The Insider” and “Entertainment Tonight”. When and wherever a brush is involved, Ing draws two similarities between her work as a Makeup Artist and her creations as a Painter. Color choices, blending and a certain creative vision are the obvious similarities between the two. Although, her philosophy with painting is that what you think may be the last brush stroke, may wind up being the first of many to follow! “It is all in how it speaks to you”. As a Singer/Songwriter, she has been inspired by such musical icons as Cheryl Crow, Martha Wainright, Eliza Gilkyson and Patty Griffin, and would categorize her music as an eclectic fusion of Country, Rock with a Folk moon rising. Traveling wherever she goes with her guitar in hand, if you are lucky, you might catch Ing playing at a coffee club, nightclub, open-mike night at a hip bar/restaurant or even outside the car wash if she is so inclined and inspired. When it comes to art and music, Ing’s mantra is, “SEW THE FLAG YOURSELF, RUN IT UP THE FLAGPOLE AND SEE WHO SALUTES”. In the end, it is all about growth and happiness for Ing and if it makes her or someone else smile…it’s so worth it.
CSHow satdodown with“beauty” Ing toandchat about CS: you define “power”? Youart, seemmusic to have and mastered the coveted balance of both.

ONCE UPON AN ARTIST….
INGER OSTROM
IO:
“Beauty can mean many things to many different people; however to me it is that thing that each one of us carries inside. A kind of gift that all people are born with and that begins to define us. In an interesting way, it creates it’s own energy. It is an amazing thing to experience and an even more amazing thing when it happens to someone you love. I believe that Power and Beauty walk hand in hand. It’s funny, when you focus on your dreams for no other reason than the sheer joy of it, then the world around you begins to notice. The world around you sees you defining yourself, and in a strange way, it creates power, perhaps because it suddenly or slowly understands you. Could it be the Law of Attraction? The great thing about this is that the beauty and power come from within. It is never generated by trying to please anyone but you.”
CS: Balancing your busy life and career between Artist, Singer/Songwriter and Makeup Artist-to-the-Stars…you still make time to “pay it forward”… What is your secret?
IO:
“Interesting question to ask me as of this moment, as I just finished wrapping up a painting for a silent auction event put on by the Hot Mom’s Club (www.hotmomsclub.com) and Cookie Magazine to benefit the Casa Hogar Orphanage in Tiajuana, Mexico. One should love the gifts given to them and send them out into the Universe to help others. This is the true magic”.
“Crying Angel” Acrylic on Canvas
CS: Who is the most inspirational person in your life? IO: “My Mom is the most inspirational person in my life. She is my best friend. She had a very humble upbringing on a farm in North Dakota, worked hard raising a family, advancing herself, going to college and getting her degree after all the kids had flown the coop! She always has some kind of project going. She is very creative and loves to learn. ”
CS: Who is your “inner child” and what toys does she like to play with? IO: “The inner child!!! Which one? LOL…Just kidding. Let me tell you, she is stubborn.
Once she gets an idea in her head, it is tough to turn the boat around. Not to say that it can’t be done, it just takes a lot of patience from myself, and the people I surround myself with. As far are toys? Mmmm…set her up with a really good meal and a Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and she will sing like a bird.”
CS: What gifts of wisdom would you like to share about your journey and what advice would you give to women searching for guidance in their careers? IO: “The journey is far and long, but it will be wonderful. Focus on your gifts; those are the things that will remain with you always. Through the good and the bad-no one can ever take them away from you. Work knowing that it won’t happen overnight; but at the end of each day, you will have lived with no regrets and will be that must closer to where, and who, you want to be.”.

ONCE UPON AN ARTIST….
INGER OSTROM
CS: It is said that we all have a kindred spirit animal in nature. What is yours? IO: “Since we are using our imaginations here, I will take it one step further. I would like to be a flying horse. Playfully, powerfully, galloping across the earth with grace and ease; Rising up into the air, flying to the mountain tops where the child within could sip on her martini and enjoy the view.”
Whether Ing is painting a Canvas, a face or playing her guitar, her genuine spirit shines through. This is quite apparent from her ethereal radiance coupled with, what seems to be, an innate sense of unconditional love and acceptance of the world. The majority of her paintings have wings, halos and three dots around the eyes, ears and mouths symbolizing something very sacred to her, Mind-Body-Soul. “Keeping these three things in balance in all that we see, hear and say will help our lives and the world become a more peaceful place..”

Intentional Frequency By Susan Beauvais Intentional Frequency is brought to you in lieu of a monthly horoscope. It is by no means an attempt to discredit the science of Astrology, but rather an aim to put the power of the Universe in your own hands! For whatever the planetary climate may be, your power of Intention will guide you to your desired destination through practice and a light-hearted, loving patience with yourself. What is really going on in this physical existence known as Life? Are we truly beings of energy, emitting energy, interacting with one another as vibrational magnets? It’s really then all about Intention… When we begin to vibrate at the frequency of our intention, the signal to the Universe is clear… to attract more of the intended energy. Vibrating at one’s intention acts as a powerful spiritual tool! It is a grand trigger, a reset point, a fine-tuning, as we remind ourselves to ask… What is My Intention? As soon as we are rooted in intention, we have realigned with our purpose, direction and connection to the Divine. We return to the infinite realm of possibilities. In this evolving, ever shifting environment on Earth, intention is truly of trustworthy nature; an aspect of our lives we do have control of… and that is empowering! Master Intentions An Intention such as Love vibrates at a high, fast and pure frequency.
Madonna I – Susan Beauvais
Sometimes the mere posturing of Gratitude is enough to regain balance and perspective in any given moment. An inner intention of Peace can serve to soften and beautify, as it radiates compassionate waves to others.
Experiment with your energy and enjoy! Perhaps the best intention of all is true Happiness… Susan Beauvais is a writer, artist and natural energy healer currently residing in Costa Rica. Where the Racetrack meets the Runway – Speeding the Next Generation of Clothing Up a Few RPM’s!
The founder of "Rock it Baby" and "RIBWear," Juce Peterson, has created something new in the auto racing apparel industry. A new generation of women is breaking on the racing scene, and with them the need for clothes that reflect their "life in the fast lane" world with style and panache. Juce is working with some of the best and most beautiful up-andcoming racing talent in the nation today; Alison Macleod,Toni McCray, Kristian Alexis, Annalese Thorp, Lea Powell and Sean Murphy, designing high-end couture and active wear for this new breed of female role model and icon. To cater to the these athlete's fans, Juce started "FanClub49" to help these new, sports stars to market themselves with all manner of fan-oriented merchandise - from T-shirts to calendars. She assists them in the design, manufacturing and marketing of high-quality, straight-from-theracetrack apparel and products. Realizing the importance of the fans in the growth of the racing industry, Juce has also started "Finish Line - Where the Girls Come First." Lea Powell -Racecar Driver -Model

Where the Racetrack meets the Runway – Speeding the Next Generation of Clothing Up a Few RPM’s!
A line of active wear geared to the female racing enthusiast, but with the same innovation and attention to detail as her “Rock it Baby" couture. The racing culture has become "the" new, hot spot for girls to show off their trendy gear the car is their latest accessory - and Juce sees unlimited possibilities for women’s motor sport clothing. Another aspect of the "Rock it Baby" brand is producing events for auto shows and similar venues, showcasing her "Rock it Baby" model athletes. Juce provides clients with a complete package to enhance the experience of attending a high-end automobile or other motor sports event. Recently, the Oasis Event Center opened in L.A.'s garment district and featured the "Rock it Baby" models, decked out in Juce's innovative designs, in a high-energy cabaret performance of music and dancing that stopped the show. It became necessary to remind the enthusiastic audience that they were attending a fashion show, such was the crowd response. Plans for the future include partnerships with upscale retail stores and involvement with other sports apparel companies to help market new talent. She also wants to use her clients to begin a program of personal appearances in Metro-area L.A. schools, not only to publicize racing, but to show kids that driving is not all there is to racing; to introduce them to all that goes into the sport in the way of engineering and technology, and to encourage them to set goals, dream big and focus on education as the way to achieving them. She has also set her eye on the extreme sports industry with particular attention to the needs of women in those sports. Juce also sees a great future for "Rock it Baby" as a fundraising tool for the non-profit sector. The idea "Where the Racetrack Meets the Runway," suggested to her by her mentor, is the perfect description for the emergence of women in motor sports, and Juce intends to be there to help them look and do their best.
MEET JUCE PETERSON the concept designer and powerhouse behind RIBWear (RockItBaby) established a presence in the sports and fan club apparel market as an innovative designer.
“This is a history-making endeavor that will change the way America looks at women, women of adversity, children of adversity, as well as the challenges of racial indifference” -Juce

SHE ROCKS! Featuring Freda Kunin and Christina Carathanassis
The Empowered Woman moves through the Universe with a sense of inner beauty, confidence, divine essence and grace transcending yet magically connecting with all others. Her reckless spirit now tempered by a wisdom and higher consciousness that the life she leads is of HER OWN creation. She is a full circle. Within her the power to conquer, create, seduce, nurture, transform and heal the world. Her strength and generous heart shines as she manifests an energy that empowers her and others as well to embrace the divine SENSE OF SELF. Like the mythical Phoenix, she has risen from the decades of ashes of the things that once posted resistance and NOW her spirit soars. Her needs and desires she has learned to express and she has overcome masculine adversity in a professional world. Yet, ironically and brilliantly, she invites men to embrace, celebrate and connect with her Goddess Within. NOW she muses at the power and strength of her feminine, perfumed hands and embraces the merger of both the masculine and feminine energies. This SHE-RO has now emerged fully alive, powerful and strong. Yet simultaneously sensual, compassionate and grateful. She forges forth with knowledge and power, able to protect and guide future generations with a higher wisdom as mighty and vigorous as the great whispering winds that guide us. She realizes that SHE is the sanctuary, a gateway for all other women to find balance and discover that they ARE the women that they aspire to be. In this episode of

SHE ROCKS! Featuring Freda Kunin
Kunin also studied Law, Economics and Fine Arts at UCLA as well as the Universite Internacionale de Cannes. As a member of Women in Film, Independent Film Projects West and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Freda exhibits impeccable taste (Wonder who she got it from? Her mother was a former Coco Chanel Model!) and unrivaled commitment to excellence and customer service. In fact, her staff are not only gurus in the menagerie of product lines, but they are “very well accessorized!” Sought after by celebrities, fashion Editors and a global clientele, Freda’s work ethic is exemplary and she soars her way to success through integrity, passion and the sheer joy of loving what she does- and she does it so well! When we asked Freda what the contrast was between BEAUTY and POWER, we all had a meeting of the minds and agreed on this: BEAUTY is what is personally pleasing to the eye (aesthetics) and each one of us sees things differently. Confidence. Personal Presentation. We attract people when we smile by radiating self-confidence, an inner glow that illuminates us from the inside out in a visual manner as well and THIS is what people gravitate towards. POWER is the ability to control circumstances around us and NOT let them control us. At times, it is impossible to be all-powerful and in control, but we can decide how we want to react to the unexpected and the unexpected can sometimes be a good thing.
“It is the spice of life! Sometimes it’s hot and other times it’s just not hot enough”. Eager to help others who are less fortunate, she donates to several charities ranging from those assisting single pregnant teen mothers to those seeking cures for Aids, Cancer and heart Disease. “I am a genuinely happy person and I strive to be the best that I can be to myself and others. This keeps me on course”. Freda and her success define the perfect fusion of power, grace and beauty. She practices patience and kindness with herself as well as others, follows her passions and lives strong. Her favorite childhood memory, “Climbing into my sister’s crib when I was about 1-1/2 and she was only a couple of months old. Yes! I guess I was an early climber!”

SHE ROCKS! Christina Carathanassis SHOPPING FOR A CURE Christina (Christabelle) Carathanassis embodies a unique approach to on-line resale shopping. She brings together the quality, style and whimsical elements directly into the homes of her shoppers with a “click”. Imagine….Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Gucci for up to 80% off the retail price AND delivered to your home!!!!!! I don’t know about you…but I would NEVER leave the house or office with those odds. Gone are the days when second-hand shopping was considered tabboo. The 21st Century shopaholic of today understands and strives to stretch her dollar. Why buy one Louis when you can get 2, or maybe 3 if you’re lucky, for the price of one??? HELLLOOOOO……! Even Jackie- O was rumored to have consigned her designer suits to add a few dollars to her “allowance” from her Greek shipping tycoon! Enter ChristabellesCloset.com and you will find a full-service online luxury consignment E-Tique. Whether you are craving Prada flats or the to-die-for Hermes scarf Christabelle can help. SHOP designer duds at consignment prices or SELL designer duds for a profit. Either way, let’s face it; it’s a win-win situation. From a very young age, Christina understood and appreciated the value of family, community and opening yourself up to experiencing and helping others experience “life as a feast”. After all, growing up in a Greek/Italian household life was a feast. There were always a plethora of delights that got Christina’s salivary glands pumping; like her mom’s homemade sauce, her dad’s Greek Avgholemono Soup and “a nice bag of potato chips with onion dip”. She could not help but “get” that when life offers you a variety of abundance and a platform, your job as a human being should be to open your heart and share this abundance with others less fortunate, and that’s what she does. Her parents “hands down”. have been the most source of inspiration for Christina, “They have had to overcome so many of life’s hurdles and have taught me that love, perseverance, integrity and a steadfast nature is simply the cocktail to conquering the world.” Not only will you find a Pandora’s box full of high-end, original, one-of-akind designer fashions and accessories, but also you can SHOP FOR A CURE.

SHE ROCKS! Featuring Christina Carathanassis
When Christabelle opened her doors in 2004, she not only strived to offer women across the country the opportunity to buy designer clothes at a very low cost, but also to have a powerful platform to raise money to find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. Her Mammabelle, (featured in the photo of the 3-Fashionistas in this article) was diagnosed in 2001 and ever since then Christabelle has been fighting to help find a cure. Christabelle’s “Clearance Closet” donates half of the proceeds and sales to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, to help her Mom and all others who suffer from this debilitating disease. Through her genius business sense she has garnered national and international press accolades including Entrepreneur Magazine as well as in an AP article about strong women in business amongst a host of other national consumer press including Oprah Magazine. She not only has helped women of all levels raise their self esteem and inspire them to go after their dreams, but she is helping to find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. Now THAT’S retail therapy…or should we say RESALE therapy! “I feel a determined and committed person exudes power naturally. A classy, motivated spirit that can move mountains and make it look effortless. This is raw unsolicited power. . THAT and a good pair of Manolo Blahnik stilettos!”- Christina Her key to staying grounded through it all is always keeping in strong connection with the “Christabelle of the past”. As a woman, like most, she has come through many pivotal benchmarks throughout her life and she flags them and never forgets where they have gotten her, how she grew from them and what lesson was attached to them. Sound advice. “ Never live a life where you ever have to utter the words…“I wish I had…”- you have the world at your fingertips. Squeeze every last opportunity from it. Juice your potential every day and hold tight to your dreams. If you don’t grab them…someone else will.”

Persephone, an upscale Greek eatery by the owners of Periyali, Nicola Kotsoni and Steve Tzolis. Executive chef James Henderson oversees the kitchen at Persephone as well as Periyali. In the creation of the menu, Henderson worked alongside Sophia Gerasimidu, a home chef from native Greece, to make the food authentic and true to the traditional food served in Greek homes. THE DÉCOR! Elegant and chic featuring many embellishments and decorations found in native Greece. On the walls, a masterful set of Matisse woodblock prints based on a Greek goddess are hung. The lighting sconces evoke a nautical feel, and the handmade pieces were designed by an artist in Athens. THE MENU! Centered around authentic Greek side and main dishes, such as ChickPea Eggplant Stew or Stewed Okra. One of the signature menu items, Yiouvetsi, adapts a lamb preparation to cook seafood, and is served in a broth incorporating saffron, a spice widely used across Greece and the Mediterranean. Persephone serves an expansive offering of fresh fish selections and other popular entrÊe selections include the braised beef Frikase with dill and lemon sauce, as well as the Kouneli Stifado and Mediterranean spiced meatballs. For dessert, Persephone delights with classic Greek cakes and cookies as well as a sumptuous flowerless cake and a wide selection of Greek wines. THE LOCALE! ON THE COUCH WITH DR. LESLIE Dear Dr. Leslie: It seems like I meet the most wonderful women. We fall in love and we have a great time...for two months. Almost to the day. Then, they discover that they need to work on their career more, or they just don't feel it anymore, or the WORST one: "I just want to be friends." I mean, it's like a throwback to Jr. High. The latest incarnation of this was with a woman who I thought was for sure "it." But, her career took off, and her secondary excuse was that I reminded her too much of her exhusband. I realize that the only common denominator in all of this is me. I've heard that I need to keep fun alive in a relationship by keeping the "ribbing" and "poking fun of" alive...keeping the attraction alive, but honestly, if I can't be myself why bother? -Sad and Resigned Dear Sad and Resigned: Sounds as if you might be jumping into relationships too quickly. Perhaps you might consider getting to know someone longer than 2 months before you actually call it a relationship. Sometimes a guy who is too eager to find the right woman may settle too easily for superficial attraction without getting to know someone more deeply. By the way, are you working on your career also? Sometimes a woman who wants to work on her career is sensing that the guy she is dating is not doing too much of that. But even if you are a career minded soul, you might want to take your time when dating and explore what holds you back from attracting available women. You might try thinking of yourself as Happy and Resolved (to find the right mate). Dr. Leslie Dear Doctor Leslie: My husband and I were the couple everyone envied. Best friends. Lovers. All the clichés. In short, we had it all. Until he was killed in a car crash four years ago. I am in my forties and, at the urging of my friends, have begun dating again. But I can't get him out of my mind. How does one move on? -Still Heartsick in LA
Dear Dr. Leslie: I have had a beautiful and intense friendship with a man for over 3 years. There is definitely a spiritual and physical "connection" there that is undeniable although we never slept together. I moved a year ago out of State and since then he refuses to call me or see me when I am in town. He emails beautiful letters about what a powerful "force" I am in his life and yet he won't pick up the phone to talk to me or give me his new phone number. I miss him terribly and dream about him day and night almost to the point of obsession. This is so not like me and so I wonder...I know the universe brings people into your life for a reason and how can it deliver someone so powerful and yet leave so many questions unanswered. I know that he MUST care about me...but why is he reacting as he does. He did say when I left that he was "devastated". HELP! I need closure. -Obsessed and heart-broken Dear Obsessed and Heart-Broken: Your story is a very sad one mostly because it sounds as if you were in a "beautiful and intense friendship" with a person you really didn't know very well. The true essence of love is that it is patient and wants what is best for the person one loves. You ask why the universe brought this man into your life, well it works this way. Sometimes the universe brings someone into our lives to teach us a very important lesson. In your case this lesson may be to value yourself more than you do. Your friend's behavior demonstrates that he really does not understand you. Also, I'm wondering what the attraction is for you. This sounds as if there is a missing piece. If you two had such a spiritual, physical, beautiful and intense friendship why did you move away from him? It sounds to me as if you need to embrace the life you have, let go of the one you obviously chose not to have and move on. Your obsession about this man most likely has more to do with your own sense of inner peace. The person you thought was "so powerful" really mirrors your own power that you were attracted to in him. Now you must search for your own inner power perhaps with a good therapist, spirituality and meditation. Remember, pain is the path to personal growth if you use it correctly. Dr. Leslie
The Doctor is in! Write to DR. LESLIE at: DrLeslie@Chickscene.com
Dear Still Heartsick in LA: You have suffered a great loss of your husband four years ago. I wonder if you have done any grief work such as attending grief support groups or psychotherapy. You may be feeling as if you will never be able to move on, however, we know that this is possible for people. Honor your time with your husband, cherish it and then work at letting go. Sometimes the universe has other plans for us, different than what we expected. It is good that your friends are encouraging you to date. Take your time, be comfortable with your own discomfort. And know that we are capable of loving many people in our lifetime. You are so young, don't let the years pass without moving on. Be kind to yourself. Dr. Leslie

Beth Orton is a BRIT Award–winning English singer-songwriter. Known for her "folktronica" sound, which mixes elements of folk and electronica, she was initially recognized for her collaborations with William Orbit and the Chemical Brothers in the mid 1990s—but these were not Orton's first recordings. Her second solo album, Trailer Park, garnered much critical acclaim in 1996. With the release of the albums Central Reservation (1999) and the 2002 UK top 10 album Daybreaker, Beth developed a devoted fan base. On her 2006 release, Comfort of Strangers, she has moved towards a more folk-based sound and away from the electronic sound of past albums. American movies and TV shows such as Felicity, How to Deal, Charmed, Dawson's Creek, and Vanilla Sky have featured her music and provided her with exposure to an American mainstream audience. www.Amazon.com and all major retailers.

A MAN ON YOU With Mark Edward Lewis
Had Sex. Now What? You know what’s going to happen. He’s a great guy. He has potential. You’ve taken a risk, because he’s definitely not a one-night stand, but you also don’t have a lot of history with him. You’re hoping you’re not a one-night stand to him. But there’s a problem. You’ve done this before. You know how you will feel…that horrible urge to call him all the next day. Constantly resisting the urge to text him and ask him if he was pleased with you. Wondering, since he isn’t calling you at lunch, if he cares about you. Is he thinking about you? Is he just a jerk? By evening of the day after, you want to kill him because he’s obviously cheating on you.
Mark Edward Lewis is an award winning director, producer and composer for film and television and champions female empowered franchises. His passion for empowering women in the world is matched only by his desire to be in relationship with them. Mark is also a disciple of Alison Armstrong and her workshops. His teleseminar series on communication between men and women can be heard live monthly. Register at : www.lemmediaproductions.com /i2i
Look, I understand. Post sex crazies are the worst. I call them PSCs. But there’s something you should know: it’s not your fault. Men and women aren’t even close to being similar in design, yet they share this in common: a chemical called oxytocin. Lets call it the “bonding hormone.” Men and women have this chemical released into their system after an orgasm. Even after 19 seconds of firm hugging there are measurable amounts in the body. It creates a neurological “imprint” of the person you are with in your “feelings.” Basically it makes you want to be with them…all the time. It makes you crazy, because it works on your evolutionary instincts such that if your partner is not around, you think that your life is going to end. It is also released during childbirth and is believed to be the main reason why the bond between baby and mother is so strong. Get the picture? This is no small influence on you after sex. So, all of those crazy “I have to be near you right NOW” feelings are mostly coming from this chemical in your system. Bad news: the bonding imprint stays with women until their body realizes that this suitor isn’t going to impregnate their egg. Translation: depending on where you are in your cycle when you have sex, it could take from 3 to 26 days to get over the PSCs. Worse news: generally speaking, men’s oxytocin levels drop off after 3 days. Even worse news: if you have sex again, the time-counter starts over. Now, this is great news if you love the guy, and you’ve got something great going with him. It’s terrible news if you’re not sure.

A MAN ON YOU With Mark Edward Lewis Had Sex. Now What?
What if you could have a conversation with your man (even if you have a history with him) so that your “cave-woman” bonding instincts would be at peace (mostly)? Would be worth something to you? Watch this. I call it the “Partnership Question.” This is the quickest and easiest way to create partnership between anyone, and in this case, it’s the easiest (and sometimes the sexiest) way to make everyone happy the day after. Ready?
How do you deal with this? Well, I was told by a friend that if it really gets bad, she goes and has sex with someone else that she knows she doesn’t care about. To her, it takes the sting out of a situation where the guy who doesn’t “call her back the next day.” Hmmm. Seems a little too dangerous to me. “Babe, can I ask you to provide something for me that would really make my life great?”… “Today and tomorrow, can you [insert what you need here i.e. “ call me during lunch to say hi,” “text me a little note,” “stop by,” “send me an e-mail” whatever you need to feel that connection]?” Now, hopefully he’ll say, “of course!” If not, you’ll need to find out why he can’t SEND ME YOUR QUESTIONS AND YOU’LL GET provide that for you and compromise. When you can come to a compromise (if you need to) the ANSWERS IN THE next question HONEST is the most important question a manNEXT will everEPISODE! be asked: “What do you need from me in order for you to provide that for me?” His response to this question is the gold that will cause him to give you anything you need. In essence, what you’re doing is creating a partnership MARK@CHICKSCENE.COM in this area, and partnership always trumps “Cave-Man and Woman.” You can see that if you’ll apply the Partnership Question to every area of your relationship, you’ll have massive transformation. Here, in the after sex (or even before sex) moments, using this question will calm your PSCs. He’ll be happy to provide what you need, because you told him. Moreover, if you make this a habit, your subconscious mind relaxes and the crazies get even more under control. Could it be this easy with a man? Could PSCs be dealt with this easily? Try it. Find out. Do you dare?
Send your questions and I’ll give you quick, honest answers in the next episodes. mark@chickscene.com
