Visitor Services Assistant—£7.20 per hour (if 25 years or over) Dorset County Museum is seeking to recruit a part-time Visitor Services Assistant for the Tea Room. The position is primarily for Saturdays, but requires the flexibility to also provide cover at other times including Sundays during the summer opening. The post-holder will be responsible for all areas of the Tea Room, including serving customers with hot and cold drinks and light refreshments, using the till, clearing tables, washing up and stock control. The post-holder will also be responsible for over-seeing the volunteer team including organising the rota for cover in liaison with the Head of Visitor Services. Closing date for applications is 12noon on Friday 20th January 2017. Interviews to take place on Friday 27th January 2017 at the Museum. Tomorrow’s Museum for Dorset Update ... Where we are…. The project has received a huge boost with the announcement of a major grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation. A family founded trust, Garfield Weston is now one of the largest charitable foundations in the world. Where we’re heading… Completion of RIBA Stage 3 design and submission of the full planning application to West Dorset District Council. Having worked alongside the museum’s own interpretation development team to develop the themes that will tell the story of 200 milliuon years of Dorset history, Real Studios Ltd will present to the Project Board initial gallery concepts for the design of the new galleries
