Tomorrow’s Museum for Dorset Update ... Where we are…. 

Our planning application has now completed the consultation period and is awaiting a decision at an upcoming Planning Committee meeting. We continue to work closely with West Dorset District Council as our plans develop and are feeling positive that they will be supported in this upcoming meeting. The team continues to work towards the upcoming submission deadline for our HLF Stage 2 application in May. The project website and brochure are currently being revised with new images and text. We anticipate these will be ready for launch towards the end of April and we look forward to sharing these with you on completion. Please visitwww.tomorrowsmuseumfordorset.org and sign up to the e-newsletter for the latest developments

This is a perfect opportunity to see behind the scenes in the archaeology store as well as see the DNHAS’s newest acquisition, the Old School, just up the road off Grey School Passage. The Fine Art, Social History and Costume and Textiles reserve collections have been moved into Old School which provides an enhanced environment for the artefacts as well as providing space for the teams to work.

Carmel Mallinson—Head of Marketing and PR

George III

We are sad to say that Carmel’s last day with DCM will be Monday 3rd April. Carmel is leaving to start out on her own and we wish her well in this next exciting project.

We were very sorry to learn that the portrait of George III was not coming to the museum on 29th March after all! We’ll keep you updated on progress and look forward to welcoming him soon.
