So far, 34 of our current Museum volunteers have signed up, together with 69 new volunteers, but we still need more people to help with Stewarding, Front of House, Tea Room, Education and Guided Tours. Dippy may not be arriving until February but we need to get all our volunteers, both new and existing, trained in plenty of time. In fact, our last training session will be on 9 December. Celebrating our Volunteers —Volunteer Awards 2017 The Museum Tea Room is being re-vamped

We have, once again, nominated our volunteers to the Volunteer Centre in Dorchester under the Volunteer of the Year and Volunteer Team of the Year categories.

Volunteer of the Year—Linda Roberts This has been a year of real achievement for Linda. She makes it a real pleasure to be a member of the Arts team and has combined a sense of natural curiosity in the works in the Do you have any vin- collection, a willingness to get stuck in and get her hands dirty, and a great gift for getting on tage-style crockery with people, to improve both the standards of the Arts team output and the lives of her felwhich you would be low volunteers. tea cups, tea plates and especially tea pots. Items must be in perfect condition but do not have to match.

Volunteer Team of the Year—Education Team During 2016/2017 with few resources and little investment in the schools programme, the Education Volunteers nevertheless brought energy, fun and enthusiasm to the museum on a daily basis during term time! With the help and support of around 15 team members, the museum has been able to offer exciting, fun and informative school sessions to over 2,500 pupils.

Thanks! Every volunteer has gone above and beyond what has been asked of them, in many Instances staying well after each school has left to clear up, debrief and talk about how we can continuously improve what we do. It is no exaggeration to say the Dorset County Museum would not have a schools programme without the invaluable input, time, support and dedication from this team of volunteers.
