Switch over to Electric Vehicles The government is ready to offer vehicles It is laudable, encouraging and a welcome measure that the central government is seriously contemplating for a green subsidy over a peiod of 5 years and is considering a switch over to electric vehicles. (E.V) The government is considering a subsidy package of Rs 9400 crore for this purpose. At present, the air quality of environmental pollution with high carbon-di-oxide emissions is very high and alarming in all big cities in India t which is a dangerous phenomenon. The government is ready to offer upto Rs 2.5 lacs for switch over to green vehicles for those scrapping old petrol and diesel vehicles. International Energy Agency suggests that in future electicity will play a crucial and significant role in providing mobility. As a first and foremost step, public transport system should act as a launching pad for wider adoption of electric vehicles. Now, all are aware that all public public transport vehicles and trucks are illmaintained and kept in a bad shape that spew heavy smoke that greatly pollute the atmosphere that causes all health related problems like respiratory and even causing lung cancer. The government should encourage all transport operators to change over to green electic vehicles by targeting a subsidy package to improve the air-quality.The manufacturers of vehicles should also be given the subsidy package to encourage them for
production of electric vehicles. The governement should immediately start facilities for charging stations for easy mobility of vehicles and create right environments. It is welcome that the government has operated a subsidy package named as FAME to encourage switching over to E.Vs over a period of last 3 years. It is mostly regrettable to state that 14 of the world's 15 most polluted cities are in India and sorry to say that nobody cares to keep the environment clean and the prevailing laws are not severe for arresting this trend. Hence adoption of electric vehicles are a predominant priority now for keeping green environment and ecology intact and to reduce carbon emissions by transport vehicles and trucks which poses a grave health hazard. All the countries in the world are eager to switch over to electric vehicles in view of high cost of petrol and diesel including high maintenance cost. The situation prevailing in India is very grave and grim and hence preferable to switch over to electric vehicles over a period of time by availing green subsidy by government. Manufacturers of all vehicles should start production of electric vehicle in future with reduction of cost. Ultimately, advance renewable technology will step up electicity generation for easy mobility of E.Vs for keeping a green environment free from pollution. - S.Ganapathy

Bring Petrol / Diesel into GST net The crude oil, a non- renewable source of energy, otherwise called as Black Gold, plays a vital and crucial role, about 80% of consumption which is also !/3 rd of country's imports. This phenomenon causes shooting the trade deficit to an alarming level of $156.8 billions. At present, global S. Ganapathy oil prices have touched a high in 4 years at $75 per barrell, resulting petrol 7358768630 and diesel prices hike daily is a major cause of concern and disappointment that catapults the inflationery conditions in the country During UPA rule, the fuel prices had shot up in2oo4, peak of $140 per barrel in 2008 due to internarnational galloping prices which were subsequently declined to to $108 in 2014. To lessen the impact on consumers, UPA government slashed taxes on crude, petrol and diesel and forced the government to subsidise which even touched an alarming 1 lakh crore a year. UPA government later advocated for slashing the subsidies given for petrol and diiesel. When there was a change of government in the centre in 2014, BJP government abolished subsidies and price controls in late 2014 taking advantage of crash in world oil prices at that time. Subsequently, as on midnight of 31.05.2017, the petrol prices were hiked to Rs70.85 per litre as the new price includes international crude and oil prices, INR-US$ exchange rate, state levies like VATand central excise duties which compose about 50% of the petrol and diesel price. Dynamic Fuel Pricing was introduced w.e.f 16.06.2017 joining the band of countries like USA and Australia and the prices were determined by the oil companies like IOC, HPCL and BPCL on a daily basis and the price of petrol is Rs78/20 per litre and diesel Rs 70 as on date and it may touch even RS 100 in year end.Increase in the price of fuel not only impact the middle income group, prices of all commodities, productive costs thereby impacting country's development. Hence it is imperative that the central government should review the fuel policy, support at least 10% of the cost of petrol and diesel to somehow ease the pressure on common man and also contemplate of bringing crude oil, petrol and diesel into GST net to reduce it's retail prices. Eventhough there will be loss of revenue to state and central governments and it should be implemented in view of the public interests and benefits. Eventhough the central government is interested to bring petrol into GST net. the state governments are stoutly opposing the plea fearing big revenue loss, the states should accept to bring under GST net in view of public outcry and interests. Despite the costs of fuel preces, the automoble industry is booming every year and overall vehicle population in the country is very high and stands next to China internationally. The consumption of fuel is also very high and overall our trade-deficit in 2017-2018 was $156.83 billion, the highest in the last 5 years which is very alarming in view of steady rise in the price of crude oil over the last few months. The government needs a vigil in this trend, To overcome this difficulty to a certain extend, the government should order for a Sunday Holiday for private vehicles and trucks and only public vehicles should be allowed to ply and we should also cooperate in not using our vehicles on Sundays. We can thus save fuel and thereby reduce our monthly spend on fuel.
Keno Upanishad! In this Upanishad, there are four kandams. The first two describes about the concept of Brahmn. The third one explains through various stories. The fourth one states the continuation of stories and thereby explaining what is Brahmn. Once upon a time, bitter war was erupted between Devas and Asuras. The victory was swinging to both sides and ultimately the Parabrahmn made the Devas as victors. The Brahmn is sukshmam and subtle in nature. The Devas became egoistic and pride and said that out of their sheer power and strength alone, they had achieved the victory. But they did not know the real cause for it. At this point of time, Brahmn just to wipe out their ego, appeared in the form of Yakshas. Devas were surprised to see this form, do not understand what it is and wanted to know about it to clear their doubts. Devas then called Jatha Vedas or Agni God or Fire God which is more powerfula and all-knowing. Then JathaVedas apeared
before the Yaksha and Yaksha asked who he is. I am Agni Bhagwan who is famed like Jathavedas in this world. Yaksha then asked Him what power and strength, He is having? He said that he can burn any object in this world and bring it to ashes. Then Yaksha to test this power, put up a heap of hay before it and asked to burn it. But Agni however tried to burn it, could not do so. Agni then went to Devas and said that I do not know who is this Yaksha. Devas then sent Vayu Bhagwan to Yaksha. Yaksha asked HIm who He is. He said I am Vayu Bhagwan. I am also called as Mathrichwa. Yaksha asked Agni what is His power in this world? Vayu Bhagwan said that it can lift up any substance.Yaksha then placed a heap of hay before it and asked Him to lift up. But Vayu could not lift it and accepted it's defeat and failure to Yaksha and informed Devas accordingly. Devas were confused and highly perplexed over this and finally came to Lord Indra. Devas requested Indra to find out the truth about this
Yaksha. Immediately Yaksha disappeared. At this juncture, Lord Indra prayed and instantaneously appeared a most beautiful woman in this world who is none other than Goddess Parvati, the daughter of Himavan. Lord Indra asked Goddess Parvati who is this Yaksha? Umadevi replied to Lord Indra that this Yaksha is Brahmn which is the real cause for the victory. You have to adore over this. Afterwards Indra understood that it is Brahmn. To realise the real knowledge like Atma Gnanam, one should dispel the ego and pride in him which is the stumbling block for realisation. To obtain God's grace, one should wipe off the 'I' in his mind. However you are great and knowledgable, only by sheer Grace of the Goddess, you can achieve the ultimate realisation in one's life and nothing else. This fact is inherent and intrinsic in all the above stories. Ultimately Devas then understood the real cause of everything in this world and became conscious of brahmn. S.Ganapathy
Dental Health When people see each other they look into the eyes and talk. But when there is a defect in the face (more often in the teeth) then the attention shifts to the defect. The most common defects are in the alignment of the teeth, their shape and color. Why does the alignment defect occur? Individuals inherit characteristics they possess through genes given to them by the parents. So are the jaws and teeth sizes. When both match perfectly then a good alignment and leveling is seen (normal occlusion). When they do not match, either crowding or spacing is witnessed (mal-occlusion). Environmental factors (such as dietary habits, acquired physical habits like thumb sucking, hormonal changes, dental and general diseases, medications etc.) also have an influence on the occlusion. Can mal-occlusions be corrected? The existing positions of the teeth are the result of an attempt for a harmonious co-existence of the teeth in relation to the jaw size, teeth size, teeth number, environmental factors and their functions. Whatever be the reason for the undesirable mal-occlusion there are solutions to correct and have a desirable occlusion and appearance, which will also enhance the general wellbeing of the individual.
Why should Mal-occlusion be corrected? A person with crooked teeth fears to smile or talk freely and often become a target of ridicule in the class, among relatives and by the society. This makes them an introvert with hardly any good friends. Such a situation is very pathetic and could affect the individual mentally and physically. Teeth which are in mal-occlusion will also hinder proper cleaning (brushing) and have less than normal bone support. This will lead to increased tartar deposits, bad odour, (halitosis) and loss of teeth. Hence... Malocclusion should be corrected to : 1.Enhance the appearance and smile, 2. Increase health and longevity of teeth , 3.Raise confidence and general health and happiness. What are the common methods of correcting MO? Mal-occlusions can be corrected with removable orthodontic appliances, fixed orthodontic appliances, surgery, cosmetic restorations and crown and bridge work. One or more of these may be required for achieving the best result. What is the ideal age to start corrective treatment? To achieve best result children should be seen by a dentist from the time their milk teeth start erupting. Guiding the jaw growth and teeth eruption, habit breaking (thumb sucking, lip biting etc) good dietary guidance, preventive measures for teeth decay and early loss of milk teeth will all help get the best occlusion as a child grows. All of these may require treatment which includes professional cleaning of teeth, preventive and curative mouth rinses, restoration of dental decay and treatment with orthodontic appliances. The dentist is the best judge to advice when to begin active corrections with appliance treatment. Malocclusion can be corrected with appliances at any age as long as the jaw bones supporting the teeth are healthy. In the event of appliance treatment is not possible then other methods mentioned above such as crowns, bridges, fillings etc. may be used to improve function appearance and health of the dentition. Exuberance Of Health And Confidence Is Reflected In Your Beautiful Smile.
