W

hen we think about 'North Madras', so many things come to our mind. That can be 'friendship', 'enjoyment', 'movies', 'food', 'poverty' and so many such things... But, it is the time for us to remember a great thing along with those things... That is our rider's long trip journey achievement. Rider Name: Nithilan Thyagarajan Achievement: The person who went on motore bike Chenai to Pune and Pune to Chennai via Hyderabad Age: 24 Area: Erukkancherry Everyone has dream... But most of them dream remains as dream. But Nithilan's was not like that. Though he has many obstacles in his personal life, he achieved his dream. Long trip is not his dream... His dream was like a pyramid. First dream is to buy Royal Enfield Bullet. Even though many of them look at his dream as inferior, he took this as challenge and bought Bullet. That day his face filled pride. Then he wish became big. That is to go for a long trip. The first day his heart was filled with excitement and nervousness. That nervousness increased temperature in his body. With that high fever, he thought to stop the ride. But again he thought time will not come again. So, "I have to go". Journey was started on 15.01.18 morning 4.00 a.m. Till Chennai to Vellore, fever continued. Then a tablet and small cup of tea refreshed him. Again he continued journey... Miles and miles of roads. They are not just roads. They are lessons made him to learn many things. On second day he started journey from Kolhapur to Pune. After reaching Pune, he spent two days there and visited few markable places. While returning, he chosen another route. That is Pune to Hyderabad. On next morning, the trip was started again, and he reached Chennai. The most interesting thing was, many people and lorry drivers wished him. The dhaba restaurants. The Pune foods. Temples. His friends encouraged him. Though his mother said, it is not possible for us. He changed those thoughts. He always thinks his father's blessings making him to achieve the things.

General public and students in the Metropolitan City were overjoyed to witness the Lunar Eclipse today. SPACE conducts the observation with telescopes, providing a guided tour and information on the Eclipsed Moon and its various phases. At Edward Elliot's Beach, Besant Nagar, SPACE team with nine Astronomy Club members from associated schools used professional cameras and instruments to photograph the eclipse and experiment during its transcending phases. A myth breaking activity is conducted where the crowd are encouraged to consume food and water during the eclipse. At Hiranandani Upscale School, Egattur, SPACE team with nearly 60

participants observe the Moon through telescope and conducted experiments during its transcending phases. A myth breaking activity is conducted where the crowd are encouraged to consume food and water during the eclipse. Initially the moon was below the Horizon of Visible range during the moon rise, then moon started to rise up at 6:04 pm in evening. A participation of nearly 2 0 0 0 p e o p l e , astronomers, students and parents from all across the city were overawed by the turnout of the public and congratulated SPACE on its efforts to popularise science and organising such infrequent opportunity of observing Lunar eclipse. The Observation has enabled public to have this wonderful opportunity and witness the celestial marvel first hand. Some parts of India were also able to witness this, as Total Lunar Eclipse, but only for a short while, as the eclipse have already initiated before the moon rise in India. In the city, the moonrise is at 06:04 pm, eclipse started at 18:21 Hrs, Mid

Eclipse at 18:59 Hrs and Eclipse ended at 19:37 Hrs. Educators from SPACE briefed the participants about the total lunar eclipse. The next total lunar eclipse will take place on July 27, 2018, best seen from India, it added. A total eclipse of the Moon occurs when moon plunged into darkness for 1 hour and 16 minutes (in Full Eclipse phase), in a deep total eclipse. It appears dark red, and is called the 'Blood Moon'. A total lunar eclipse happens when the whole moon enters Earth's shadow and can happen only when the sun, earth and the Moon are in a straight line and the moon is full. Additionally, during this eclipse the Moon is just a day past perigee which is the closest point to Earth in it's orbit, making it appear very large. In fact, even though from our location we will miss the onset of the eclipse as the moon will rise only after the eclipse has already started, the stages of the lunar eclipse that we see, and offer a splendid view!
