Jewish Heritage Tour of Thessaloniki - Full Day This full day tour (6-8 hours) will focus on the Jewish Heritage of Thessaloniki, which was and is mainly consisted of Sepharadim Jews, which lived for over 500 years in the city! You will pass by the mansions of Allatini, Morpurgo, Fernandez and Modiano families, some of the most prominent Jews of the city who prospered in the late 19th Century. You will proceed to visit the New Jewish Cemetery, west of the city, which also features ancient gravestones and two important war memorials. You will visit the Railway Freight Station, from where German occupation forces in 1943, deported local Jews to the death camps. You have the opportunity to see the ‘Frangon’ area, the old commercial quarter of Thessaloniki, where Jewish merchants and financiers were active until the 1940s. We will visit the central Synagogue and will be greeted by the local Rabbi. You will also see the Holocaust Memorial at Eleftherias Sq., and visit the Jewish Museum. Lunch is not included. We can organise a kosher meal at the Jewish Cultural Centre, or a Greek-style lunch in the city centre.

FYI: The Jewish/Hebrew Museum is not open on Saturdays and Mondays. http://www.jmth.gr/ •
