When it first hit the market you welcomed scores of prospective buyers. Now, two months later, your home is still for sale, potential buyers have dwindled and you’re not sure what to do. “Look no further than HGTV,” Doug continued. “Programs like Flip or Flop and Property Brothers have helped create an expectation among buyers that homes should look like a model. Buyers are on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram seeing all the new amazing looks that designers are presenting while they are shopping for a home. As long as the price is right, the closer a home looks to model-perfect with all of the bells and whistles, the faster the home will fly off the market. Unfortunately, not every home shows like a model. If it lacks that polished look, then buyers have been preprogramed by these shows to expect discounts off the price. That’s just the culture we live in today that reality TV has created.” Many homes are dated. If a home has a kitchen that is more than 10 years old and has old paint, brown patches on the lawn, planters with weeds, it will look dated and turn buyers

fall maintenance reminder It's time to change the batteries in all of your CO2 and Smoke Alarms.
It's a good idea to synchronize changing your smoke and CO2 detector batteries with the changing of the clocks. Once the new batteries are in, hit the "test button" to make sure the alarm is functioning properly. If it isn't working properly, run (don't walk) to your nearest hardware store and replace it. Vacuum dust off of the units and wipe clean if necessary.
