Mayor – Council Goals 2019 GOAL POSTPONED‌

Review the Ba sic Stormwa ter Ma na g ement Fa cility Ma intena nce Policy, which wa s a dopted in 2013. Ana lyze current storm wa ter issues ra ised by priva te property owners a nd determine how best to a ddress those issues in rela tion to the a dopted policy a nd how stormwa ter is ma na g ed by the Doug la sville/Doug la s County Wa ter Sewer Authority.

Work in pa rtnership with the Doug la s County Development Authority to develop a nd present a fa cilities use pla n for the ja il property for presenta tion a nd a pprova l by the Ma yor a nd Council.

Police Depa rtment will prepa re a vehicle repla cement ca pita l improvement pla n outlining the types of vehicles, a nnua l budg et impa ct, revenue sources, a nd number of yea rs for conversion to the preferred vehicle type. Also, costs should be included for improvements needed a t the vehicle ma intena nce fa cility for the Police Depa rtment a nd subsequent ma intena nce a nd opera ting costs.

Continue implementa tion steps to fina lize the Unified Development Ordina nce (UDO) for a doption by the Ma yor a nd City Council. Coordina te with pa rtner a g encies to a ddress issues rela ted to the completion a nd a doption of the UDO. Set up a committee meeting to discuss other issues tha t were identified to include ma teria ls tha t need to be a ddressed before a doption.

Conduct a prelimina ry a na lysis of repa irs a nd upg ra des needed a t Conference Center. Develop a budg et encompa ssing the cost of repa irs a nd upg ra des to determine the best method to a pproa ch the project.

Implement cha ng es to the Wednesda y Wind Down concert series to include loca ting the event ba ck downtown, development of a n event checklist for use a nd oversig ht by the Pa rks a nd Recrea tion Depa rtment, a nd providing opportunities for multiple a rtists to pa rticipa te in the event, who represent a ll va rieties of music.
