Original Goal: Deploy displays throughout city facilities to help share and promote upcoming city events, programs, and important information. Update Use: Utilize displays to share social distance requirements and COVID safety measures.

We have started reverting these displays back to their original purpose.


Community Relations Department Facebook Ward Groups ◦ ◦ ◦

A Facebook group was launched for each ward. These groups have provided us options to share hyper-localized information with residents of each ward when needed. Moving forward we hope to utilize these more to connect with specific segments of the community.


Community Relations Department New Residents Guide ◦

Original Goal: Create a web portal focused on providing new residents with information on community service providers, important contacts, information on city services, and connections with our various communications platforms. Updated Goal: This goal was quickly replaced by the creation of web portals dedicated to our COVID response.

This portal was established in early 2020 and contains all city updates, news items, stats, and helpful links related to COVID-19. This page is still being updated as needed and still hosts the updated COVID stats for the Douglas County area.

Community Outreach Take Care Douglasville • Distributed masks (over 1000), yard signs (300+), buttons (500+), and static window clings (400+). • We were able to maintain a clear, positive message. • Promote mask usage, social distancing, safety measures. • Support our local businesses. • And still avoid being pulled into the constant arguments and debates surrounding mask mandates and government restrictions.
