The award-winning urban parks of Downtown Detroit, are managed by the Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving world-class public spaces.

DDP’s work is made possible through the generous support of its partners and in collaboration with the City of Detroit and the Downtown Detroit Business Improvement Zone (BIZ).

Campus Martius Park unveils a new, never-beforeseen seasonal gathering space: a stunning, twostory heated lounge! With cozy seating, a lively bar and 360-degree views of the ice rink, towering Christmas tree and dazzling Detroit skyline, this glass-enclosed lounge offers the ultimate festive retreat. Perfect for sipping holiday drinks and soaking up the season, this unique addition promises a vibrant winter wonderland where friends and family can gather, warm up, and enjoy the holiday magic in the heart of downtown Detroit.

Elladj Baldé is a groundbreaking Canadian figure skater known for his viral performances that fuse hip-hop and daring stunts. A former national medalist, he’s now an advocate for diversity in the sport and co-founder of the Skate Global Foundation, inspiring the next generation of skaters while redefining the future of figure skating.

Alex Sampson is a rising pop singer-songwriter known for his heartfelt lyrics and viral hits like “Cold Shoulder.” Gaining millions of streams and recognition after appearing on America’s Got Talent, he’s been nominated for Teen Choice and iHeartRadio awards.

SOUTHERN AVENUE

Southern Avenue is a Grammynominated Memphis band fusing soul, blues, and rock. Their album “Keep On” earned a 2020 Grammy nod and multiple Blues Music Award nominations. Known for their high-energy shows, they’re a standout in modern blues.

THORNETTA DAVIS

Detroit’s Queen of the Blues is an awardwinning artist known for her powerhouse vocals. With 30 Detroit Music Awards and a Blues Music Award nomination, she’s a renowned force in the global blues scene.

LINZY AND KEYTON

Linzy Fitzpatrick and Keyton Bearinger are award-winning Metro Detroit based figure skaters known for their groundbreaking choreography and electrifying performances. Their unique blend of contemporary dance and skating has garnered international acclaim and set new standards in the sport.

MOTOR CITY KWANZAA CELEBRATION AND KINARA LIGHTING

For the second year, in partnership with Alkebu-lan Village, Councilman Scott Benson and the City of Detroit, the Downtown Detroit Partnership is excited to host the Motor City Kwanzaa Kinara. The 30-foot-tall monument brings a celebration of African American life, community and culture to Campus Martius Park.

Experience the magic of Downtown Detroit from inside an enchanted horse-drawn carriage. Carriage rides take passengers on a journey through the bustling city. The Sk8 to Elimin8 Ice Show returns to Campus Martius Park for the 6th consecutive year. This show features world class and local skaters in an effort to raise funds on behalf of the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, which aims to Turn Cancer Upside Down™.

DOWNTOWN DETROIT MARKETS AT CADILLAC SQUARE

Cadillac Square is the spot to shop this holiday season. CAPITOL PARK

Capitol Park will undergo improvements designed to preserve its historic charm while creating a safer, more welcoming space for residents, businesses and visitors. New features will include an expanded dog park and upgraded landscaping, along with infrastructure upgrades to better support the park’s vibrant year-round events and activities.

GRAND CIRCUS PARK

Upgrades will be made to Grand Circus Park aimed enhance amenities for the local community, advance pedestrian circulation, and create a more functional, active, and safer park space. Key upgrades include sharpened sightlines, new perimeter sidewalks, and landscaping and infrastructure enhancements, fostering better connectivity and accessibility for the neighborhood.
