Since the 1970s with the arrival of the boat people from Vietnam, Greater Dandenong has been the largest culturally diverse locality in Victoria, 61.9% of its residents are born overseas from 150 different nations.

It’s substantially cheap rental , ($320 compared to metropolitan average of $403) and job opportunities continue to draw settlers.
