Sold Out Performances: 16 August was an exciting month at DPAC with shows that brought great music, big laughs, and the best of Broadway.
We began the month with The Rocket Man Show starring Scotsman Rus Anderson who recreated the magic and live persona of a young Elton John like no other. We then had legendary singer Johnny Mathis , celebrating 67 years as a recording artist, to perform his greatest hits and personal favorites on the DPAC stage. The following week we welcomed back Lyle Lovett and his Large Band to perform an arrangement of Lovett standards, as well as songs from his critically acclaimed album 12th of June.
We hosted Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová from The Swell Season to reunite and celebrate the 15th anniversary of their film Once. We were also thrilled to bring back Brit Floyd to perform a brand-new production celebrating 50 years of the groundbreaking and iconic musical masterpiece The Dark Side of the Moon. Finally, in the spirit of celebrating great music, we welcomed back Arrival From Sweden to share the absolute best and most authentic ABBA show there is with the Triangle.
After weeks of amazing concerts, Leanne Morgan brought the laughs for two sold out performances. The enthusiasm for Leanne continues to grow unabated.
Lastly, we kicked off our four-week run of the Broadway sensation, WICKED. The untold true story of the Witches of Oz is transfixing audiences with its wildly inventive story. This production will continue performing at DPAC until September 17.
