We have had an incredible start to our brand new 2024 / 2025 season at DPAC, filled with great Broadway performances, world-class concerts, and superstar comedians. We began the month with the global smash hit musical, featuring the songs of ABBA, MAMMA MIA!
Next, we welcomed the hilarious comedian, Ellen DeGeneres , for her final stand-up tour. Grammy ® Award-winning singer, songwriter, producer, and actor Anthony Hamilton gave an amazing sellout performance on August 9. We then had the #1 Elton John tribute on stage to wow the crowd with The Rocket Man Show.
Greg Gutfeld returned with his special guest and fellow comedian Tom Shillue for an evening of hilarious and engaging conversation. Podcast host and comedian, Trey Kennedy, entertained the crowd with his relatable comedy and humor.
We rounded out the month with Marc Martel giving the crowd a front row seat to one of the greatest Queen tributes, One Vision of Queen, followed by two sellout shows from Impractical Jokers and the premiere of Avatar: the Last Airbender in Concert .
We are looking forward to an amazing upcoming season, and we thank you so much for all of your support.

DPAC’s Broadway Connects
DPAC’s first Broadway Connects event of the 2024/2025 season was a wonderful way to start the new season. Clue cast member Mary McNulty (understudy Yvette, The Cook and others, Mrs. White, Mrs. Peacock and Miss Scarlet) was introduced to Jordan High School’s theater and tech students. The school is currently preparing for their own production of Clue later this fall.
Mary spent the afternoon coaching students and imparting audition advice; she encouraged them to play and be silly, discussed how difficult comedic acting can be (often the more we try to be funny, the less funny things become), and shared some of the magic behind Clue’s technical elements from blood illusions to moving sets.
Special thanks to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina for their generous support of Broadway Connects
