Corporate Partnership Report October 2023

This October at DPAC October Attendance: 65,261 Performances: 27 Sold Out Performances: 17

Season to Date Attendance: 210,528 Performances: 85 Sold Out Performances: 50

October at DPAC had everything. Concerts, comedy, Broadway, and fun for the whole family. We opened the month with a visit from Raphael Saadiq Presents Tony! Toni! Toné! This was the trio’s first time performing together in nearly 25 years. Gregory Alan Isakov cast an impressive presence, performed his indie-rock and folk hits from across his six studio albums. The inspiring musical duo, Black Violin, also came to the DPAC and had the whole crowd on their feet dancing. Finally, Lake Street Drive took the stage to showcase the band’s keen talent for creating joyously soulful rock & roll with equal parts ingenuity, intelligence, and irresistible abandon. Throughout October, DPAC also hosted three incredibly talent comedians. Chelsea Handler gave audiences a great show with humor and candor that has established her as one of the most celebrated voices in entertainment and pop culture. Matt Rife, one of the fastest growing comedians through his viral content, performed four incredible sold out shows. The living comedy legend, John Cleese, showcased his trademark eccentricity and clever wordplay for an evening of comedy and conversation. Blippi: The Wonderful World Tour came encouraging children and parents alike to shake their wiggles out for an evening of family fun. Finally, we kicked off Truist Broadway at DPAC’s brand new season with the four-time Tony® Award-winning musical MJ, which offered a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Michael Jackson into legendary status. Thank you,

DPAC’s 2023 / 2024 Performing Arts Ambassadors

This fall, DPAC selected 30 area high school students who are passionate about live entertainment to serve as Performing Arts Ambassadors for the 2023 / 2024 school year. Ambassadors are offered unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to attend DPAC’s varied and diverse events, while also having the chance to shadow DPAC staff and report on their experiences via videos, online blogs, and social media posts. We were excited to celebrate these students at our Performing Arts Ambassador Orientation on October 9. Students have already started the program and attended shows such as MJ the Musical, Blippi, and John Cleese.
