WELCOME FROM THE MAYOR It is my great pleasure to welcome you back to DPAC! It’s been a while. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. That is certainly true in the case of DPAC. In March 2020, just as we were preparing for the return of HAMILTON and other fabulous Broadway shows and concerts by our favorite performers, Durham and the nation faced an unprecedented change. We waited patiently. We took care of ourselves and each other. We worked remotely. We followed the “three W’s”— washing, waiting and wearing masks. We got our vaccinations. We gave thanks to all of our frontline employees and healthcare workers whose extra efforts continue to make the difference. I’m thrilled to say that it’s now time to reignite the energy, the passion and great entertainment we’ve come to expect from our beloved DPAC. And guess what? The award-winning HAMILTON is set to return for three dynamic weeks in May. If you have seen it before, now is your time to see it again. If you’ve never seen it, trust me and hundreds of thousands of others who have seen the show. You are in for a treat. There are other shows and artists I’m sure you won’t want to miss, such as Rain – A Tribute to the Beatles, Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations, Hadestown, Charlie Wilson, and so many more. And as usual, all the trappings that come with seeing a show or concert at DPAC still await you, starting with the beauty of the theater and DPAC’s legendary customer service. A visit to DPAC is an open invitation to experience Durham. It’s as easy as parking and walking to downtown restaurants, or taking a short drive to nearby malls, museums or historical sites. My wife and I have been Truist Broadway members at DPAC since it opened in 2008. While this is my last DPAC welcome letter as Durham’s mayor, rest assured that we will still be the biggest fans of this amazing performing arts center we love so much. Thank you being a part of our history, present and future just by choosing DPAC and Durham. Now settle into your seats to enjoy your DPAC experience and an unforgettable show. Sincerely,
Mayor Steve Schewel

WELCOME FROM GENERAL MANAGER Welcome to DPAC! Or maybe better said … welcome back to DPAC! On behalf of my team at DPAC and our parent companies, Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management, we feel incredibly fortunate to once again be welcoming guests to DPAC, not only for great Broadway shows, but for all of the 200 performances planned for this season including world-class concerts, superstar comedians, and the many special events including speakers, holiday performances and family shows. The future looks very bright as all of Broadway’s biggest hit shows have DPAC in their plans, not just for this 2021 / 2022 season, but also for next season and beyond. As we planned and prepared for our reopening, your safety and peace of mind remained our highest priority. Our comprehensive Safety First Commitment is designed to protect guests, staff, vendors, and visiting shows, while maintaining the legendary customer experience for which DPAC is best known. We also want to recognize and thank the City of Durham for their commitment to safety with an investment of over $250,000, which enabled DPAC to add state-of-theart air purification systems, new touchless cleaning and disinfection equipment, touchless restroom fixtures, contactless ticket scanning equipment, contactless food & beverage payment processing, over 150 hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipe dispensers, and more. More than anything we want you to know how important you have been to DPAC as we have been planning and preparing to reopen for live events. Throughout our temporary closure, just 5% of our members contacted us to return their season tickets. Knowing that so many of our members and fans of DPAC events were cheering us on, gave the team here the extra fortitude needed to keep working toward the goal of being among the best prepared centers for live entertainment in America. And now the day is at hand for when we can once again say; “Welcome to DPAC, we’re glad you are here.” Sincerely,
Bob Klaus General Manager

MOBILE ENTRY AT DPAC Your Phone is Now Your Ticket PHOTO: MICHAEL GILLMAN
Mobile entry is a safe, easy, convenient, and contactless way to access and manage your tickets all in one place. Safety is every venue’s #1 priority and mobile entry gives DPAC a better understanding of who guests are prior to every performance through this new adaptation. Now, more than ever, it is critical for venues to know who is in possession of each ticket in order to be able to share important information with them regarding health and safety measures before the doors open and the show begins. With mobile entry, which is powered by DPAC’s official ticketing partner Ticketmaster, there’s no need for direct contact or physical exchange of your ticket. Mobile entry guarantees a quick and safe ticket scan straight from your phone. Our secure ticket technology reduces the risk of ticket fraud, eliminating the possibilities of theft or counterfeiting. Once you’ve purchased your mobile tickets on Ticketmaster, you can always rest assured you’re getting the seats you paid for. Always be aware, though. Do not purchase tickets from unauthorized online ticket brokers. Don’t be fooled by online websites who mimic DPAC’s name or website and offer tickets they might not even have. Go directly to DPACnc.com or to Ticketmaster.com.

GUEST ETIQUETTE At DPAC, we’re committed to Guest Courtesy. Please remember to be a good neighbor to those seated around you. AFTER THE PERFORMANCE
Yes, the lobby gets busy and the parking lots can be tricky, but please remain at your seats until the houselights come up. As a courtesy to the performers and other audience members, DPAC asks that you do not rush for the exits prematurely at the end of the performance.
ENTERING AND EXITING THE SEATING AREA
Please time your exits and re-entry to the seating area to occur only at intermission or breaks between songs. This is a courtesy to other guests around you who will appreciate you keeping these disruptions to a minimum.
KIDS AT DPAC
Please note that all guests require a ticket, regardless of age. Children under the age of 6 are not allowed at most DPAC performances including Broadway, Concerts and Comedy shows. For some shows, DPAC will make recommendations on the appropriate minimum age based on the content and the length of the event. Parental discretion is always advised and judgment of the appropriateness of the content for each show should be made on an individual basis prior to purchase. Children must be able to sit quietly in their own seat without disturbing other guests. As a further courtesy to our guests, DPAC recommends one parent or chaperone for every one child in attendance.
IT CAN WAIT.
Please save texting until AFTER the show. The light from phones is distracting to others throughout the theater. Please keep them turned off.
IT’S SUPERSTAR ENTERTAINMENT, NOT A FOOD FEST
Small snacks and drinks are welcome in the seating area, but as a courtesy to those around you, eat and drink as quietly as possible. Please know that odors and noisy wrappers can disturb others. We also ask that you finish sandwiches or other large food items before entering the seating area.
PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEO RECORDING USING MOBILE PHONES
At DPAC, each event that we host determines their own policy on photography and video recording using mobile phones. Please note that GoPro’s, tablets, and cameras of any kind are prohibited at all DPAC events. All Broadway shows prohibit photography and video recording.
QUIET PLEASE.
Once the show starts, please let the stage be the center of attention. We ask that you turn off all cell phones and limit conversation. If children are attending this performance with you, please exit the theater immediately if they become restless or talkative.
