Welcome from the Mayor

As your mayor, I’m so excited that one of my duties is to officially welcome you to one of the greatest theaters in the world! But don’t take my word: Just this year, DPAC was ranked 1st and 2nd in the country by national theater reviewers and magazines, including Venues Today and Pollstar. Thank you for choosing DPAC and Durham. Now settle into your seats to enjoy your DPAC experience and an unforgettable show. O’Neal

WELCOME FROM THE MAYOR

Like so many Durham residents, I recognize the jewel that DPAC is to Durham and the Triangle region. Though we’ve endured a few changes for everyone’s safety as we’ve attended shows recently, attendees have supported the health-related actions and worn their masks cheerfully. That’s the true spirit

This season will feature some of the biggest Broadway, concerts, comedy shows and special events to ever take the DPAC stage. You won’t want to miss the premieres of Disney’s biggest new hit, FROZEN and the winner of ten Tony Awards®, including Best Musical, Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

And as usual, all the trappings that come with seeing a Broadway show or concert at DPAC still await you, starting with the beauty of the theater and DPAC’s legendary customer service. A visit to DPAC is an open invitation to experience Durham. It’s as easy as parking and walking to downtown restaurants, or taking a short drive to nearby malls, museums, or historical sites.

I’m thrilled to say that DPAC, after more than a decade, is continuing to showcase the energy, the passion and great entertainment with a list of performances that people will travel from miles around to see.

“Welcome to DPAC…”

Oncan.behalf of my team at DPAC and our parent companies, Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management (PFM), we invite you to celebrate live with our 14th season and the incredible diversity and variety of the over 250 performances that will grace our stage.

BobSincerely,Klaus,

Since opening in 2008, over five-million guests have heard that greeting as they walked through our doors to experience blockbuster Broadway shows, worldclass concerts, superstar comedians, and many special events including dance, speakers, holiday performances and family shows.

We celebrated our five-millionth guest milestone last February and it was a significant reminder of how important you are, our members and guests. We called this past season, our “Comeback Season” and more than you know we appreciated your words of support, your attendance, and even your patience as we did our best to reopen and juggle a sense of both safety and normalcy.

“Welcome to DPAC, we’re glad you are here.” General Manager

Big shows have graced our stage in the past and we have many more big events planned for this season and beyond. But even with the biggest show on our stage, DPAC would seem empty to us without having you in the audience, in the moment with family and friends, experiencing the magic and power of live entertainment.

As I write this welcome note, DPAC is ranked among the best theaters in America by three national publications (Venues Now - #1, Pollstar - #2, Billboard - #5). Back in the summer of 2021 as we worked toward reopening there were many unknowns, but each day we kept moving forward with the understanding that it was important that we come together again to share the performances, the songs, the stories, the smiles and laughs, and even sometimes the tears, that live events bring to us in a way that no other entertainment form

Entering and Exiting the seating area

For some shows, DPAC will make recommendations on the appropriate minimum age based on the content and the length of the event. Parental discretion is always advised and judgment of the appropriateness of the content for each show should be made on an individual basis prior to purchase.

Please save texting until AFTER the show. The light from phones is distracting to others throughout the theater. Please keep them turned off.

Photography / Video Recording Using Mobile Phones

Children must be able to sit quietly in their own seat without disturbing other guests. As a further courtesy to our guests, DPAC recommends one parent or chaperone for every one child in attendance.

All Broadway shows prohibit photography and video recording.

Quiet Please

Once the show starts, please let the stage be the center of attention. We ask that you turn off all cell phones and limit conversation. If children are attending this performance with you, please exit the theater immediately if they become restless or talkative.

It Can Wait

Please note that GoPro’s, tablets, and cameras of any kind are prohibited at all DPAC events.

A Life Plan Community

Few things in life give back like the arts. At The Cedars, we think it’s only right that we return the favor. As a Life Plan Community, we serve a new generation of younger older adults seeking active, fulfilling lives and broader horizons. Life has been good to them. And, thanks in no small part to the arts, now it gets even better.

supporting the arts is all part of the plan.
