Obituary

R

ichard Douglas Haynes was born January 22, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio to the union of the late John Travis and Lillie Mae Haynes. Richard often attended The Church of Christ of Apostolic Faith of Columbus, Ohio and had received Christ as his Savior.

Richard was a graduate of East High School and a NAACP supporter since 2009. Through the years, Richard was employed by Sears, Roebuck & Co., where he trained as a repairman in various fields. He loved fixing and improving all things and encouraged family and friends to obtain a trade, profession or love of something to pursue. Anyone knowing Rick knows that he was always willing to help in any way and would sometimes give his last to one in need. Rick was always ready to give advice on matters, (even unsolicited) and in most cases, his advice was on point. As he decreased his time working on cars and whatnot, he was still there to take you to get what was needed and then instruct on what needed to be done. Rick loved all types of music and enjoyed singing and telling jokes (just not as well as Mother Lil). Rick met Conni Boldeni in 1996 and although their marriage was years later, they shared a total of twenty six wonderful years together. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, John Travis and Lillie Mae Haynes; Brothers, Donald, Harold Dean, and Gary; Brother-in-Laws, Bill (Denise) Gooch, and Glenn Jones; Sister, Denise Gooch; Granddaughter, Tiana; Grandson, Alfred (CJ) Haynes; and Great Grandson, Isaiah Haynes. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving Wife, Conni Haynes; Daughters, Christine Haynes and Raqui Haynes; Sons, Cheyenne Rozelle and Richard (Ricky) Haynes; Sisters, Jeannie Kwarteng, Myrna (Tom) Ruff, Linda Jones, Gloria Russell, and Mary Haynes; Brothers, Paul Haynes and Tyrone Travis; Special Friends, Kirk Ferchert, Dave foster and lifelong Friend, Keith Stevens; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

TO MY LOVING HUSBAND

God Saw You God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be So He wrapped His arms around you And whispered “Come to me” You didn’t deserve what you went through So He gave you a rest Heaven must be beautiful For He only takes the best And when I saw you sleeping So peaceful, free from pain I could not wish you back To go through that again. You left us beautiful memories Your love is still our guide And though we cannot see you You’re always at our side Your Loving Wife, Conni

IN APPRECIATION The family of Richard D. Haynes wishes to acknowledge with sincere gratitude the many comforting messages, cards, flowers, phone calls, prayers, and other expressions of sympathy and kind deeds during our time of bereavement. May God continue to bless you.
