BAREFEET ENTERTAINMENT, LLC Founded in 2001,in spirit & truth by one of the music industry’s most gifted song writing duos, Barefeet Entertainment, LLC has secured it’s position as an indpendent force in today’s competitive music market. Co-Founder’s 1stBorn and Middle Child began with a vision, a vision that together, they may somehow alter the plane of music for the better, by maintaining the classic energy they grew up on in the eighties and being innovative in their own right as the Barefeet Family who believes every good song begins with raw talent and a genuine love for the craft of music. Growing up in the small town of Youngstown, Ohio, the brother/ sister writing team understudied the Ohio Players’ Billy Beck, learning the mastery of songwriting and production. 1stBorn, the eldest brother of 3 formed the family’s singing group known as “SB2”. The trio established their first affiliation with a record label, Gotta Flo’ Records in the mid ‘90’s, traveling throughout the Midwest gracing stages with their folk-popsoul sound, with a blend of intricate harmonies captivating thousands along the way. From there, 1stBorn went on to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he founded a quartet, “Perfect Timing.” There, he honed his skills as a crooner, and live entertainer. After a few years, the group disbanded. In moving forward with his ambitions, 1st headed west to California to pursue a solo career. During this time discovered his skills as a musician & producer. After a short time, he knew music production was his calling. With a composer’s approach, he has constructed his gift into a unique sound that can now only be recognized as the Barefeet sound. ■

S
uicide continues to be one of the leading causes of death among children under the age of 14. Bullycide is a term used to describe suicide as the result of bullying. New bullying statistics 2010 are reporting that there is a strong connection between bullying, being bullied and suicide, according to a new study from the Yale School of Medicine. Suicide rates are continuing to grow among adolescents, and have grown more than 50 percent in the past 30 years. Bullying can include various types of behavior from physical attacks, to destroying one's personal property or clothing, verbal abuse, starting rumors, name calling, verbal attacks online as well as other forms of cyberbullying. For teens and children who feel they are being bullied, it is important to address the matter with a parent or teacher right away. It may feel like you are telling on someone for doing something wrong, and that admission might get you in trouble with the bully later. However, this is not the case. In the majority of cases when a bully is reported, the bullying stops because the bully is faced with dire repercussions or they are sent away to a juvenile detention center. If you see bullying occur, it is just as important to tell a trusted adult about the situation. There are many ways to try and prevent bullying from getting worse and by reporting incidents, you can help cut down on future cases of bullying involving other victims. Maintaining a strong sense of self and good overall self-esteem is another way to ensure you won't be a victim of bullying attacks since bullies generally only prey on those they feel are weaker than them. This is also why it is important to have a solid group of friends that will have your back if a bully does try to attack in some way. Parents, be sure to talk to your children and teens about bullying and how to prevent it from happening to them or their peers. Make sure they know the importance of reporting such incidents and ways to handle a bully. Tear Bear, Inc., Barefeet Entertainment, 1st Born Music Group and DPI Graphic Design needs you support in bringing forth this worthy endeavor schools across the country. Please consider helping us help thousands of children deal with this ugly epidemic...bullying.
Respectfully Yours
