Provide trips for mature adults ages 55 or better that promote socialization and provide new experiences.

No matter what you crave, Durham is a “foodie town.” The cuisine ranges from old Durham standbys to up-and-coming places that are tantalizing. Mature Adults are invited to whet their appetites, join old friends, make some new ones and meet up at a select Durham restaurant to have lunch. Participants will be notified of the venue and menu prior to the outing. Transportation to and from the restaurant will be provided and each participant will be responsible for their meal costs. Mature Adults are invited to whet their appetites, join old friends, make some new ones and meet-up at a select Chapel Hill restaurant to have lunch. NC STATE FAIR
The entertainment, rides, food and fun: it is fair time once again. Join us for Senior Day at the NC State Fair. There will be giveaways and all of the usual fair experiences! Fair admission (only) is free for ages 65+. All others must pay admission charge at gate. A DAY AT THE CASINO!
Calling all amateur and seasoned casino players! We are off to Cherokee, NC, to play table games, slot machines, and video poker. We’ll stop for breakfast and eat lunch and dinner at the casino. The cost of the meals is not reflected in the price. We will depart from and return to the Campus Hills Recreation Center. SOUTHERN SUPREME FRUITCAKE FACTORY
We’ll tour the Southern Supreme Fruitcake Factory in Bear Creek, NC, and taste delicious fruitcake and a multitude of other holiday goodies! We’ve built in time for shopping and a leisurely lunch (not included in the price) on the way home. We will depart from Campus Hills Recreation Center. Durham Parks and Recreation Recreation Advisory Commission (RAC)
The RAC meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) administration office.
