SEVENTH ANNUAL HOLIDAY GALA
DEPAUW OPERA PRESENTS Le Nozze di Figaro
Come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant, to hear our angelic ensembles herald the Holiday Season! The entire town turns out for this festive year-end celebration, so be sure to get your tickets early. Saturday night’s performance is followed by a reception in the Green Center Great Hall; Sunday’s family concert includes a visit from Santa!
Based on the 18th-century play by Beaumarchais, Mozart’s comic opera Le Nozze di Figaro explores the indiscretions of the aristocracy. As the extraordinarily crafted music illuminates the story’s narrative, shameful plots, mistaken identity, humorous coincidences and guilt-ridden confessions bring the play-within-a-day to an emotional and joyful conclusion! Sung in Italian with English supertitles.
