Over the past few months we have had a major push for DFE growth across the country, as we reinvigorate for the future.

DFE is one of the key metrics of Drake, and measures our sales and marketing expenditure in relation to our overheads. The message being, you need to spend money on sales and marketing (wisely) to make money.
There has also been an increase in marketing campaigns both nationally and local to the branches, driven by the marketing team in conjunction with the branch staff.
We held a management and staff conference in May, hosted by Michael Lang, an external recruitment specialist, where we built plans to measure our results and become more mindful in our work. Staff from across the country came together for 2 days of interactive learning, which left everyone buzzing to put their plans into action. To complement this training, we launched our NZ Branch Competition – where we measure each branch on their C&I numbers, net revenue growth and profitability. We are so pleased to see an increase already in the number of C&Is
And just last week we had Marjie Best in New Zealand from Drake Australia, to run the Challenger Sales programme across the country. The aim of this is to upskill staff in the consultative selling approach, so that you can partner with our clients to not only service their recruitment needs, but help them achieve productivity, performance and profit improvement. Now we need to put our training to good use and win business, build revenue and get New Zealand to the 100% Club!! Let’s close out the year with a DFE bang!

#LifeAtDrake Branch Competition We have just announced the second winner of our monthly Branch Competition, and congratulations again to the Wicked Westies, our Henderson team, for their win!! Congratulations also to Albany A-Team, for the inaugural win! The branch competition measures results for Net Revenue growth, profitability, as well as C&Is attended. It also measures job ad quality, as we want to ensure that all job ads posted are well-written and spelling error-free. The winning branch can book any team event they like, with a budget of $50/person, paid for by Marketing. For your reference, you can find a job ad template in the Marketing drive, or ask Jono to organise a job ad writing training session for your branch.

Getting our name out there! Branches have been very busy this quarter getting out in the market! To name a few initiatives: the Masterton team is working with Dress for Success and YETE to get people job-ready, our Palmerston North and Christchurch teams’ have held movie nights, our Albany team launched a C&I initiative, our Auckland, Christchurch and Hamilton branches attended the recent Careers Expo’s in their regions and our Tauranga team has sponsored the Westpac Tauranga Business Awards. Marketing is taking part too with Alexandra giving a keynote at the NZ Marketing Leaders’ Summit!

C&I TIPS!
Our Albany branch came up with a great idea for securing C&Is – taking a mini gift of a Drake pen (they are sooo nice!), a bar of Drake chocolate (yum!) and a business card to prospect clients and asking for a meeting. Masterton trialled this as well and secured 15 C&Is from this initiative!! Test it in your branch and let us know the results! Medox Website Drake Medox NZ (almost) has a new website! Working with the Medox team in Australia and New Zealand, we designed a new, streamlined website with a fresh look that is easy to navigate and aligns with the new Medox branding across APAC.

Local Advertisements A number of branches have been increasing their DFE as we push to hit a DFE of 1.5. We have been working on a number of initiatives, such as radio campaigns, local newspaper and billboard advertising, and other candidate and client initiatives. We have consolidated the information on all of our service lines into one digital brochure which can be viewed here. From flex to perm, unbundled recruitment and solutions, this handbook is your one-stop-shop for sharing information with clients. Candidate Care We have recently ordered Drake and Medox branded Keep Cups, which are very high-quality, reusable coffee/tea cups. These are to be used as a permanent placement first day gift, or a nice gift for a long-term candidate, or client. They are held in our Penrose branch, so please email Dinh to order yours today!
LinkedIn Licenses Drake has invested significantly in Recruiter Licenses on LinkedIn, which gives the license holder access to use LinkedIn as a candidate database, as well as In-Mails and job ad posting rights. BUT REMEMBER – if you don’t use it, you lose it! If yours is unused for 2 months or more, we will reassign it to someone else to ensure we are getting a return on our investment! There is an entire training library on the RPS license found on LinkedIn, and they conduct training sessions throughout the year. Contact Alexandra or Dinh if you have any questions.
New Proposal Template & Social Media Ad Templates We have updated our proposal template for Drake and have launched our social media tile ads for Drake and Medox.
