Choosing to Live By: Steven Craig Semones II
Hope to really speak life into what you may see as hopeless, maybe you feel that you are an outsider, and even feel that no one will miss you if you were gone. This simply isn’t true! Many people spend their entire life trying to find their identity. They try to find who they are and what they were made to do. We all are looking for acceptance, looking to fit in, looking for a beautiful girlfriend or boyfriend, wanting a trophy wife or husband. We try to find fulfillment in positions, titles, salaries, popularity, fame, and even social class. No matter what you obtain physically there is always a vacancy that is deep down inside because these things can be great achievements and accomplishments but that is all it is. You have to love you, and If when you don’t We look for things that are materialistic and superficial to fill the emptiness. To think that at the core of everyone we are searching for true love. A true mate, a true friend, real conversations, and transparency.
I
Many people spend their entire life trying to find their identity. Steven Semones II
How is it that we want these things with our heart, but we seek for different things with our actions. I have really thought about this and I truly believe because we don’t live by the spirit of God shaping our heart, but we live by our eyes and our feelings. You might have even been a victim of bullying, rape, and many other terrible acts. This might have been an act that has caused wounds but this isn’t what defines you. I first want to dedicate this to a special young lady I met at a ministry event called uncommon that a friend of mine Chris Schafehen does every Thursday night during the summer . I am a group leader there and I was leading a group of young people. Basically you are given topics as a group leader and the basis is to get them started talking and to back out as they all share their heart, and interject when needed. It is powerful and it is amazing to see the things they say and the brokenness they share. The group came to an end

telling them I will see them next week etc. When one of the girls came up in the group and said that she followed Dream magazine and how it really speaks to her life. I was so thankful and felt so humbled at what the young girl was saying. She asked me if she could ask me to do one of the magazines about suicide and it really floored me why she was asking. She said, “My friend last week killed herself and I feel if I had something I could have given her, and or read myself to be able to help me to speak into her life she might still be here.” I was in tears, and I told her “that I definitely would do that and I wanted to dedicate it to her and her friend that in desperation took her own life.” I don’t like to hear these stories no more than you do, and to thank she had purpose and she had a whole future ahead of her. The fact of the matter is that this happens every day all over the world and it takes the lives of every age group, gender, social class, race, denomination, and sometimes takes others in the process. I want to speak to the lies that may have fallen on your ear… That you aren’t good enough, you aren’t beautiful enough, you have no meaning, you are nothing but a mistake and you are broken and there is no help. You are wonderfully made by the hand of God, everything takes work to get better, but you can do it. I speak to whoever may have spoken or did anything toward you to make you feel not handsome or beautiful. The key to beauty is not if others believe it or not, but it comes from within. Everyone experiences brokenness in life, things happen we have no control of, and things we could have never imagined, but it still doesn’t change your significance. Before you can love others, and be loved you must learn that you have to
love yourself. In the bible it says that we were made in the image of God. There is nothing unbeautiful about that, but we first have to know him to know his love and understand who he has made us to be. I promise you will not find happiness in dating the worlds prettiest girls or guys, driving the fastest and most expensive cars, going to the most prestigious schools, having large sums of money in the bank, six digit salaries, traveling the country, having lavish vacations, having multimillion dollar homes, having the latest fashions, and the list goes on and on. It is when you find happiness in being you, in what you are blessed with, in what you were created to be, in finding a person that loves you for you, and you love them for who they are. Life is not what you can get from it, but what you can give to it. There is beauty and happiness in just being you, but I tell you that when you find Christ and you find who you really are. The journey just begins because that is just the beginning of the long journey as he molds you and makes you into his will and who you were made to be. It is a never ending process but it is a fulfilling one because you touch many other lives and help them find beauty in themselves and in their destiny and their purpose. I have a friend named Jenna and I don’t even think she realizes the blessing she is to so many. She is a girl that by the world’s standards may seem broken, and someone that has a medical condition.

She is handicapped by medical terms, by many job specifications she may be looked at as not able to do the job, but Jenna knows God has called her to ministry, to help encourage, and help others find their destiny. Sometimes I believe that we have the medical issue and we have so much to be thankful for that Jenna may not have, but when you meet this young lady you can see she has so much more. She has a testimony, she has so much love, and she is such an inspiration to me and to so many countless others. Jenna shared with me about a week ago as I was preparing this article for the magazine about how she tried to take her own life. She felt lost purpose, reason, and she almost bought into the lies others have spoken to her, and almost believed that she wouldn’t be nothing more than that. She took some pills one night and she tried to end her life as she fell off to sleep. She was found and rushed to the doctor and by the amount of pills she had taken medically she should have been dead but by the grace of God she is still alive. She was lucky to survive this act of desperation and moment of hopelessness, but she is alive today and she is chasing her Dream. She knows she was called for more, and she is about to teach her first bible study on a Tuesday in January at a Dream Launch pod meeting which is apart of Dream Central. I don’t know what others see in Jenna but I see so much more. Only she can tap into it though, and only she by faith, movement and action can go after it. I want her to know I am there to encourage and love her through it all as she must move forward and be relentless. This story that Jenna shared with me is a blessing and I hope it blesses you.
So don’t wait until it is too late to share your heart and love with others. You may never get another chance, don’t live with a mentality I will do it tomorrow. Because when we take it for granted you never know what might be festering under their tough exterior. Many people have come to me looking for answers that can’t be answered. Such as did I love them enough, did they know I loved them, what did I do wrong, and did I do enough? These are all great questions, but why weren’t they asked and followed up on when the loved one was alive. It isn’t time to wonder after your loved one is gone to start asking the questions you should have been asking yourself and living how you felt with your life every hour minute, and day. The best advice that I can say is live each day like your last, never leave it to assumption if you love or if you care. Always share it with everyone you know, but don’t just do it with your lips, but let your heart shine through and live it with every action of your life. Watch each word and when you speak make sure you are adding to a person and not taking away from them. Live for everything that you believe, everything you could ever want to say, and that way when things happen or you come to the minute you take your last breath you have left everything behind in the people that you know and love. That way you still live on in the ones you love, and there are no more empty questions, but they know in every countless minute that you lived. Choose life because you where made to live and to fulfill your God given destiny and purpose. I love you and remember to Dream! You are priceless to me and mostly to God!

We are doing the same thing as we play at each event, and open door. We want to share Gods love, Gods power, and Gods grace as we simply surrender ourselves in Worship and praise to Him. As we are looking for the next open door that God will open, we are in preparation, in prayer, in bible study, and in worship with God in private. MISSION: Rediscover You is a name that really exemplifies this band because we always are rediscovering who we are in Christ. It is easy to loose your self when you think you truly have found yourself, but you truly have to loose your will, ambition, wants, desires, and truly rediscover and find who you are in the perfect plan and will of God. This is where we want to stay, and constantly in pursuit of a deeper walk with Christ. Challenging people everywhere we go to reevaluate who they are, there motives, and truly find there God given destiny. We believe that each person has so much more inside of them than they can even see. We understand that people doubt, criticize, and try to bring you down. It is time to dig deep

pioneering what skateboarding is becoming. Rather than an organization attempting to change the skate culture, but a movement toward unification of the skate culture as a whole; the skate culture in of itself will be the organization. Skate culture is perfect; it brings new challenges, fosters ideal community, and creates a new perspective on the world around us. In the past there has been a tendency to look down upon skate communities because of the often explicit culture and vast array of issues that seem so prevalent in the skate culture, however what plagues the skate culture is also a common maladies in other communities, even church communities. The distinguishing factor setting the skate community apart is honesty of the skaters. They don’t try and conceal them out of fear of what others may think, they are honest with their issues. The skate culture is honest with who they are and the issues in their lives. There is no
reason to hide or to sugar coat what is wrong with our lives and it is this honesty that has painted us in such a negative light.

Such blatant honesty has been misunderstood by the outside world. stereotypes such as “rebellious” or “punk” have been used to label those associated with the skate movement. The word “New” in New Steez represents the hope of what is to come. The New steez incorporates the roots of skating while adding the element of hope. That element is a person; Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ and only Jesus Christ is our source of Hope. Often when Christian ministers bring Jesus to a culture that is unfamiliar with Him, they bring all of the religion and baggage attached to the Christianity. They bring church traditions, western theology, and denominational dogma. When it comes to the skate community, many Christian ministers attempt to tame the culture and then add Christ. Eagle Eyes First annual Dream Bowl Highlights The first annual Dream bowl was a success. This was all possible because of a faithful heart that wanted to do something different. Donnie is the founder of Eagle Eye ministries and this was something he has wanted to do for a while. To have this X box tournament and all the money raised goes to help show love to women at battered women shelters on Valentines Day 2012. With all the money raised he purchased enough bibles, flowers, and bears to reach out to 100 special ladies to let them know that their best days are still ahead. Here is a few pictures of the first annual Dream Bowl. This could not be possible if it wasn’t for some great friends of our that partnered with us such as Gamers Armada and ECX that donated there time and equipment for the event, and also some other friends Philip and Neal that opened up the door to a local stadium seating theater to host the Dream Bowl. On top of that they have already signed on for 2012 Dream Bowl. So check out these Pictures and maybe next year you could be the winner. Stay connected at www.facebook.com/dreamcentrallive

I Found My Life when I lost Myself By: Donnie Lord For the most part my childhood was normal with a mom and a dad, a younger sister, and two younger brothers. We even had a black Labrador named Prince. I think I was around seven years old when things started to change for my family. The dog was already gone. My parents separated and dad was rarely heard from again. The five of us lived through TWO house fires in a very short amount of time. One wasn’t so bad, we moved back in the apartment very quickly. The second was more dangerous as my bedroom wall was burning as I slept. Now, here are all five of us homeless which lead to us moving to the projects and becoming dependent on government assistance to survive. Even though I was learning that sometimes situations change, I can still be in control of me. I have spent most of my life living it the way I wanted. Growing up I was what you would call a good child. I obeyed my parents. I did well in school. My bedroom was always clean and my standards were higher than my parents. I showed signs of individuality, self discipline, and a self-controlling nature from a young age. I was very organized in my living space and particular of how I wanted things to be. I was in control. I have always been that way. My mother tells me stories of how when I was a newborn the only way her and my father would get me to sleep was to play a Led Zeppelin eight track. From birth I wanted things my way. Play Led Zeppelin or I won’t sleep, I will lie here crying all night so you can’t sleep. My mother will tell you of how I would open my bedroom door and know if any toy was taken out of it’s place while I was away.
I have spent most of my life living it the way I wanted.—Donnie Lord My teenage years is another tale. I was that great son everyone wants, until I hit the eighth grade. Skipping school was normal for me. Even inches of snow on the ground didn’t stop me from taking days off from school and hanging out at the pits. I mean, that’s what bon fires are for right? When I did go to school we often started the day drinking or smoking something. Normal days of school were more rare than abnormal. I don’t want to say I was always high or drunk, because it wasn’t like that, but I was always in control of my life and chose what I wanted to do. What I did and how I did it was up to me.

As I grew into an adult I kind of lived a double life. I was very determined and focused in the workplace. I never missed a day of work and would not allow anything or anyone to get in my way of success and because of it I was adored by the owners of the company and given many “treats”. There was even a common joke that I was the adopted child of the owners and I was going to change my last name. Outside of the job it was drugs, alcohol, and sex (or trying to get sex) was how I lived. If I was not going to work or at work, I was either high or drinking. And then when I turned twenty-eight I began playing drums and joined a band. Now the rock & roll lifestyle was in full effect. Being paid in beer tabs and hanging out in back rooms are highlights of a rock & roll drummer and I dove right in. Despite all of the drugs and drinking, I never lost control and never allowed it to interfere with my job or anything of importance.
first to love me back. I took control of this situation and locked her down in my life. I made her my bride and moved to South Carolina so she could be near her family. Just like every other part of my life, I can control me but I can’t control circumstance. After being married for almost three years we separated. For the first time something penetrated me. Something had shown it’s face to where I couldn’t handle it. The woman who I devoted my life to; wanted nothing to do with me. And the situation was made more severe by taking a toll on my work performance. I had bills and a mortgage I couldn’t pay. The self control I always demonstrated backfired. It was my decisions and my inability to change from my ways that led me to depression and suicidal thoughts.
One day those thoughts of suicide became a reality and a decision was made. I had the perfect conditions for a successful end to my life. I was still in control and chose to end it because I I knew from day one that she was differ- didn’t want to face what I had created. As I began to exercise my decision to ent. She was the first woman that I ever leave this world, a savior came to me dated beyond six weeks. She was not and convinced me to stay. He gave me a the first I ever loved, but she was the hug, He filled me with the Holy Spirit, and He spoke to me and said these words “ I AM IN CONTROL”. At that moment I felt a rush of peace come over me. Out of this rocker lifestyle I met a woman who was unlike the rest. She really rocked my world as much as I did hers.
I know now that He allowed me to live my life as I wanted and it was Him who kept me safe in all my circumstances. I should be dead, but He has a plan. I should be dead, but He is in control. I should be dead, but He saved me. He will save you too, if you give Him a chance.

Featured Dream Music Artists Well Ced
is just a common guy from a little town called Georgetown, SC. His birth name is Cedric Lorenzo White and he was born on March 24, 1986. His family became a part of the church when he was approximately 8 years old. Through the process of time, he developed the most important thing a person could develop, a relationship with Jesus Christ. At a young age, he was baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38), and continues the process of dying out to himself, daily. His journey through life brought him many doubts. Especially during his years at a liberal arts university that ended up shaking his faith. This new disbelief led him on a study of the essence of God which in turn brought him undeniable and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. He developed a burden for the youth and began to work with youth ministries more closely. During this time, he discovered that the MAJORITY of young people (even in the church) listen to Hip Hop music. He has been on a quest, ever since, to change this youth killing detriment. This is the birth of Well CED music.

Vizion
-(Dell Gaillard) is a young man who has a passion for ministry. Whether through hip hop music, preaching or teaching the word of God. His heart is to convey the truth of God on a level that everyone can understand. Was raised in the church and because of that, he got started in ministry early. Began rapping for the Lord at age 16 and was very zealous for God but lacking a lot of knowledge. Basing his salvation on works instead of faith in Christ, and struggled a lot in his faith. This led to struggling with identity crisis. Wanting to be cool and holy at the same time sometimes caused him to compromise his faith in Jesus. At the age of 18 he learned about true faith in Christ Jesus. Went to bible college in 2006 and matched up his knowledge of God with his zeal for God. Now in his mid 20's he is the youth minister at his local church (CAYABF). He is a father and a husband who is dedicated to serving his family, church, and community. His continuous message to the youth at his church is "you can be immature physically but be mature spiritually." Now that God has reinvigorated his passion for hip hop ministry, he is focused on one task in these last days; to be a trailblazer for Jesus Christ! Vizion started rapping for Christ with the South Carolina holy hip hop group, the Cruzaiders. With the Cruzaiders he performed on the same stage with other holy hip hop artists such as: The Crossmovement, Da Truth, and Irocc. As well as contemporary Christian artists like: Big Daddy Weave, NewSong, Overflow, and Aaron Shust. With the Cruzaiders, Vizion contributed to two released group projects: "No Better Life" (2004) and "Free" (2006). Vizion has just released his long anticipated solo album “Love and Marriage which is currently available on I tunes, CD Baby and is coming soon to Amazon. and Rhapsody. http://www.reverbnation.com/vizionakathetrailblaza

is people from all walks of life coming together to enjoy worshipping Jesus Christ through music, the arts, and fellowship. We value genuine Christian community and understand the need for “comprehensive Christianity” Which offers an example of how it looks to walk in a relationship with Christ outside the 4 walls of the sanctuary. Thus, we hope to provide a place to engage and invite younger believers to enjoy Christ in a new way! The Mordecai Project is a Christian ministry founded by J. Lee Grady, a journalist, ordained minister and author of the groundbreaking book 10 Lies the
Church Tells Women. The purpose of this ministry is to (1) confront the global oppression of women; (2) empower women to discover their God-given spiritual gifts and ministries; and (3) equip Christian men, including church leaders, to recognize, value, protect and train the women in their lives. This mission is accomplished through books, preaching, mentoring, leadership conferences, ministerial retreats and television programs in various languages. Lee is confronting all forms of abuse including domestic violence, female infanticide, denial of education to girls, forced prostitution and sex trafficking, female genital mutilation, mistreatment of widows and honor killings. He also calls for the full participation of trained women in church leadership, and he challenges the global church to reject unbiblical religious traditions that encourage gender discrimination. _____________________________________________________________
Our mission statement is summarized in this way: EMPOWERING WOMEN * CONFRONTING ABUSE * TRANSFORMING NATIONS

NTM Music and Production Neal Melix Engineer/Producer http://www.ntmprod.com/ From our home in the Charleston, SC area, NTM music and productions is a project studio based environment dedicated to the production of Christian music projects in all stages of development. Unlike a typical recording studio environment (where you come in with complete song arrangements, well rehearsed and ready to track), here you can develop your project from concept to polished music production. In addition we also offer services such as: song writing, arranging, demo recording, remixing, and wave editing. NTM music & productions collaborates with a network of qualified and talented Christian musicians, singers and engineers to provide the resources needed to compliment your project. To the independent client we offer services from simple editing to complete music productions. Should an artist be signed to the NTM label, the production can then be independently marketed and distributed. As a gospel singer and electronics technician trained in the communications field, gospel music has been my passion and hobby for many years. Now retired, I devote more of my time and energy to audio and the gospel music I love. We seek anointed, talented, inspired and dedicated Christian artists to be affiliated with our record label that we may fulfill our vision for the glory of God. "Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." James 5.20 Our project studio provides forty-eight tracks of pristine world-class audio in a Pro Tools format. I hope you where inspired and challenged in the first issue of Dream Magazine. I am twenty-six years old and I have grown up in Myrtle Beach, SC all of my life. I have a Dream to see people that have lost hope to find hope, that have lost their desire to dream to dream, and for broken hearts to be mended. Life is about choices and outcomes to our choices. I don’t care what someone has told you, what they have said you can’t achieve, but I believe that you can do whatever is deep down in your heart. It will take hard work, some sweat, and tears. Nothing worth achieving is easy, but if you are willing to put the time into achieving it I believe you will do it. I have thought many times even if you never achieve the dream that was put inside of your heart, you die knowing that you never gave up on what was put inside of you. Nothing or no one can ever stop you from reaching your dreams, but only you. We all have things in our lives, we all have felt heartbreak, dealt with loss, had some highs and some lows, but we still must persevere as long as air is in our lungs. Life is short and that is reason enough to ask yourself the question what are you waiting for? As you look around this world you see nothing but negativity and people that are tired of just going through a robot kind of life. We have no choice than to dream because what else do we have without that in our hearts and minds. We not only must dream but we have to believe that it will and can be done!
I HAVE A DREAM... In Dream magazine you find powerful stories of people that have dreams whether it is in there personal life, there ministries, and there businesses. I love to hear the heart of a person and there dreams because you find there passion that seems to flow out of their innermost being. I am a minister that wants to cause people to dream, to find there purpose in life, to lead with encouragement, and to share the freedom I have found in Christ which is the one that will not allow me to drop this dream to be a catalyst of change that is inspired in dreams and is followed by action . I know we live in a world that is tired of hearing words so I want to lead, dream, encourage, and live it with my life. I once read a young boys quote he wrote before he died that simply said , “you don’t know what you would live for unless you know what you would die for. I would die for you.” I live my life and give it so that you can also find the peace and freedom that I know because I know you are worth it! I have a dream that my words will not go void but be something that impacts this world my lifetime and beyond!
