a few diferences in ortodox customs:
+
there are no chairs in ortodox church / chapel there are some high benches along the walls, for old people to lean against the prist is standing in front of the altar, facing east, believers are standing behind his back sometimes believers aproach the altar facing the same way as priests do on some ocassions, believers and/or priests, walk around the altar as indicated on a sketch

there are no musical instruments, but there is a choir usualy standing on a mezzanine

solution:

taking this into account, and the fact that such an orientation is unfavorable, especially in winter, when the most significant holidays are celebrated, and the sun is very low on the horizon, i have decided to bring mostly diffuse light into the church
+
the idea is to make an glass covered opening in the roof of a church, right above the altar, and to introduce an inverted truncated cone that would serve as a diffuser. furthermore, i was thinking of making this cone out of lightweight cloth, making it reverberate if many people enter the church, when priest makes a service, or the choir sings
