This is a trip that is full of fun, southern charm, culture, and delicious food. You will spend three nights in Biloxi along the Mississippi Riviera. Our hotel, which is along the strip on the Gulf of Mexico, offers delicious meals, breathtaking entertainment, and if gaming is your interest, you will have plenty of time to hit the slots and perhaps put plenty of winnings in your pocket! We will also head to Alabama for a visit to Bellingrath Gardens. You will have time to explore this 900-acre estate with 65 acres of cultivated and landscaped gardens as well as a chance to visit the home of the Bellingraths. The highlight of our trip starts when we go west into Louisiana for a drive along Plantation Row to see the beautiful gardens and mansions along the Mississippi River. Here, we will see Oak Alley, which was built from 1837-1839 for the governor of Louisiana and boasts a full free-standing colonnade of 28 colossal Doric columns. Next is Houmas House, considered to be the crown jewel of the Louisiana River Plantations. Houmas House farmed sugarcane on tens of thousands of acres, and became the largest producer of sugar in the country.
