Join us on this trip to the Outer Banks and the Chesapeake, both full of rich beauty and history that we will get the chance to explore.

This trip takes us to the Outer Banks in North Carolina where we will take in many of the sights. Through years of storms and shipwrecks, the islands have developed a distinct culture. Our first day in the Outer Banks is a day of exploring. The Cape Hatteras National Seashore extends 45 square miles along the Outer Banks, and we travel this area of natural and wild beauty to the town of Hatteras with the tallest brick lighthouse in the United States standing at 208 feet tall. This evening, we preview a performance of “The Lost Colony”, reenacting the failed attempt of the English Settlement and the mysteries surrounding it. Further into the trip, we stop at Kitty Hawk, where the Wright Brothers successfully launched their first flight in 1903. We then head into Virginia and approach the Chesapeake Bay and stop on the eastern shore of Maryland for a two-night stay. From here, we travel to the shores of the Chesapeake to Crisfield. Here, our group boards the Steven Thomas for a cruise out to Tangier Island for some time to explore. Finally, we continue our travel along the Chespeake to Annapolis, Maryland where we will enjoy a tour of the lovely city along the Chesapeake as well as the United States Naval Academy.
