Where do chefs and cooks find the delicious ideas for the foods they create? They start with cookbooks! Let’s look at the art of creating good recipies and gathering them together. Escape Room: Dasher Edition
Escape rooms are a type of physical adventure game in which a group of people are locked in a room and have to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room within a set time limit. Let’s try it at DSHA! We’ll devise a challenge that will get you to use your detective skills and work as a team to solve the mystery! July 12-16 | 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and/or July 26-30 | 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. | $50
Fabric Fun
Tie dye, puffy paint, and fabric markers, oh my! Each day, you’ll design and decorate a piece of clothing including socks, hats, and more. Creativity and individualism are strongly encouraged, and you will be able to work together to perfect fabulous fashion pieces! A list of required clothing pieces will be provided before camp begins. June 28-July 2 | 9-11 a.m. | $75 Come learn the basics of first aid! Simple emergency procedures including use of the bystander CPR and AED system will be covered. We’ll talk about recognizing emergency situations and how to get help. We’ll also assemble a home first aid kit and put together a safety plan to complete with your family. You won’t receive a formal certification, but you will gain important skills. June 14-18 | 9-11 a.m. | $50 Where can a map take you? Everywhere! We’ll start with our own map to pinpoint and travel across the ocean and back again. Find out about life and culture in places north, south, east, and west. We’ll map it old school and new school with both foldout maps and technology such as Google Earth. Take a trek around the world with latitude and longitude. We’ll encounter new people and places along the way! July 26-30 | 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. | $50
Forensics Summer Series
Extemporaneous speaking, dramatic interpretation, poetry, prose, and more! Whether you’re preparing for a future forensics season or just wishing to build self-confidence and poise, this camp will help you practice and hone your skills all while being in a supportive environment. Working with DSHA Assistant Forensics Coach & MUHS Director of Debate Annabelle Arney explore the Mid-Level Forensics Association of Wisconsin categories to find the best fit for you. Campers will focus on voice and breath control, vocal warm-ups, and teamwork. Let’s add some fun to your summer and get you excited to speak up! Beginners and more seasoned presenters are welcome. Girl Power Book Club
Come explore books whose female main characters are leaders, heroes, the champions that save the day, find the cure, or go on an adventure. This camp provides girls with tremendous educational, social, and self-esteem boosting benefits. Through exposure to these amazing girl power stories, we are fostering the next generation of girls who will pursue whatever dreams they choose. July 26-30 | 2-4 p.m. | $50
Coding is one of the fastest growing fields today! Only 26% of all coders are women. Join the mission to close the gender gap in technology and change the image of what a programmer looks like. Girls Who Code provides girls with a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment. With the support of their peers and role models, girls learn to see themselves as computer scientists. Through fun and interactive curricula, girls will not only learn about how to positively impact their community through code, but they also are taught to be brave and resilient. Grace Anatomy
GraceGirls is a well-known program that introduces the fun of fitness while promoting strong bodies, strong minds, and strong hearts! GraceGirls daily workouts will feature fun ways to exercise for girls of all skill levels. But we won’t just work out—we’ll use fun games and activities to help us figure out how our body parts work together to exercise, walk, talk, eat, sleep and play. Whether you are fit as a fiddle or have never done a burpee, you’ll move and learn that “Strong is Beautiful” and our bodies are amazing! Investing and Finance
It’s never too early to learn about money and how to become financially savvy! We’ll use fun and interactive activities to learn financial literacy. Let’s look at how money works, how to earn it, and save it for that special item or for your future! We’ll talk about money basics: save, spend, donate, and invest. Mingle and Meditate
Summer is a time to take a break from the stress and busyness of school and after-school activities. Learn some concrete strategies for relieving stress, staying calm, and working collaboratively. We’ll experience different calming techniques including some yoga practices. Campers will walk away from this week feeling refreshed and energized and with some tips on how to stay that way through the school year! July 19-23 | 9-11 a.m. | $50
Girls look to their moms for support, guidance, and love. This yoga series will enhance your unique bond through the sharing of fun, accessible, friendly, partner-pose yoga and active relaxation, followed by open conversation and artistic journaling. Classes will weave in prevalent social issues such as building healthy self-esteem, positive-self talk, and reducing stress. Empowered with information and support, our daughters will feel confident to make healthy decisions as the teen years approach and independence beckons. And mothers will feel grateful as they cultivate a safe space for their growing daughter to stay connected and open-hearted. No prior yoga experience necessary, just a willingness to be as you are and come together through wellness. Do you love DIY projects? We’ll take a look at what’s trending on Pintrest and create projects using imagination and crafting techniques. Get ready to turn everyday household objects into art! Join Julie Leack Karasek, DSHA ‘90, owner of The Patched Works Quilting Shop in Elm Grove, and get introduced to the wonderful world of quilting. We will discuss technique and quilt-math to create your own patterns. Julie will provide fabric and supplies to design, plan, and complete a hand-quilted project. See how artistic creativity and math go together to produce a beautiful work of art! No previous sewing experience necessary. (Grades 4-8) June 21-25 | 2-4 p.m. | $75

How do milk, sugar, and salt turn into ice cream? What does gluten do to bread? How does milkfat affect the taste of cheese? Explore the science behind these and other popular foods through hands-on experiments. After a week of measuring, cooking, and testing, you will leave with delicious recipes, mental math tricks, and plenty of fun food facts to impress your family and friends! July 19-23 | 9-11 a.m. | $65 Service is such an important aspect of being a Dasher! Come and participate in some of the same service projects DSHA students do during the school year—and learn what it takes to create your own service project! Each day we will work together to contribute to a service project grounded in our sponsoring order’s Salvatorian mission of sharing the goodness and kindness of Jesus Christ.
