DELAWARE STATE WOMEN'S SOCCER
Season Preview
Entering the 2013 season, the Delaware State women’s soccer program will look to make an improvement from last season’s 3-111 finish, including a 2-3 record in their final season as members of the Great West Conference. Under the leadership of new Head Coach Kerri Scroope, along with her assistants Peter Hulem and Alison Skoglund, the Hornets return 16 players from 2012 with the addition of six newcomers. FORWARDS Leading the way for this position is last season’s leading scorer for DSU, sophomore Taylor Addison. In only her first season, the sophomore out of Mount Vernon, N.Y. tallied four goals on her way to becoming the first Hornet ever to earn First Team All-Great West Conference recognition. Addition-
ally, Addison was able to garner Great West Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 23, after scoring twice in DSU’s 3-0 win over South Carolina State.

DSU’s offensive firepower at the forward spot also features the return of junior Chelsea Boursiquot, as she finished as the Hornets’ second leading scorer last season by notching two goals. MIDFIELDERS One of the deepest spots on the roster this season, the Hornets have nine players designated at this position, including three freshmen. Providing leadership for the midfielders are seniors Kaitlyn Schech and Kelly Pelz-Butler. While starting every game for DSU last season, Schech led the Hornets in shots (21), including nine placed on-goal. Her lone goal of 2012 came in DSU’s 2-0 win over Goldey-Beacom.
