FROM THE DIRECTOR After every “Our Town” rehearsal I left reminded that even the most real, present and seemingly ever-lasting people, places and things in our lives might be there one minute but gone the next. This play is about just that: the eternal and the ephemeral. Making theatre during these times has been a constant reminder: we are here, and then suddenly we are not. The deep simplicity of this text seems to be written for right now, which is so characteristic of good plays: they always seem to be happening just for us, just right now. So yes, this is for you. And for your community. And for the joy and the perils of our times. Right here and right now.

Un momento está aquí, y luego… ya no más. Y de eso se trata esta obra: de lo eterno y lo efímero. La profunda simplicidad de este texto pareciera estar escrita específicamente para el hoy. Cesar Anguiano is very excited to be part of the Dallas Theater Center Our Town production. As a classically trained Bass-Baritone and Guitar player, he has over 20 years of musical experience in the DFW metroplex. He is founder of the St. Cecilia Musical Institute which promotes the musical and cultural richness of the Latin American community, and is the current Spanish Choirs Director at The Cathedral Shrine of The Virgin of Guadalupe.

ROMAN BARRON

Wally, Understudy for Jo Crowell/Si Crowell Roman Barron is a graduate from Richland High School who has ambitions to go to a performing arts school. He is currently going to TCC where he’ll get his associates degree of arts and he loves to perform on stage and in film. He loves to bring people together through his performances.

Rebecca Webb

Madisan Bryant, better known as Maddie B. is an influencer and an amazing actress who uses her ability to encourage laughter and joy. By the age of 7, she found her true calling and place on the stage. She has 9 stage productions under her belt and one national commercial with CUTX Credit Union. Ms. Maddie embraces the true meaning of her brand created in 2018, “The No Quit Zone.” Her belief echo’s, “Quitting is NOT an option but trying is!” She is the daughter of Mark and Dwan Bryant.

Cesar Anguiano está muy emocionado de ser parte de la producción de Nuestro Pueblo del Dallas Theater Center. Como bajista-barítono y guitarrista de preparación clásica, tiene más de 20 años de experiencia musical en el área metropolitana de DFW. Es fundador del Instituto Musical St. Cecilia que promueve la riqueza musical y cultural de la comunidad latinoamericana, y es el actual director de Coros en español en la Catedral Santuario de la Virgen de Guadalupe.

ROMAN BARRON

Wally, Suplente para Jo Crowell/Si Crowell Roman Barron es un graduado de Richland High School que tiene la ambición de ir a una escuela de artes escénicas. Gigi Cervantes is excited to return to Dallas Theater Center, where she was previously seen in the 2019 production of A Christmas Carol and in the DTC/Goodman Theatre co-production of American Mariachi, which recently had a successful run in Chicago. Other area theater credits include The View Upstairs at Uptown Players, Glorious! at One-Thirty Productions, So Go The Ghosts of México (parts two and three) at Undermain Theatre, and Mrs. Gibbs in Our Town at Circle Theatre. Gigi is also an award winning singer-songwriter with two solo albums, One of Those Years and Nothing but Angels, plus This Texican-American Life as one half of the duo The Shameless Boohoos.

IRWIN DAYE Understudy for George Gibbs, Sam Craig Irwin Daye is truly excited that Our Town asked him to understudy for George Gibbs and Sam Craig. As a graduate actor at SMU, this is his premiere at Dallas Theater Center’s Kalita Humphrey’s Theater.

JAELLE DUFF Understudy for Rebecca Gibbs Jaelle Duff is a sweet, smart, and creative young lady who enjoys reading, singing, dancing, and performing musical theater. In 2021, she released her first children’s book entitled “A Girl and Her Imagination”. Jaelle is so excited to be able to participate in Dallas Theatre Center’s production of Our Town as the Rebecca Gibbs understudy!

JAELLE DUFF Suplente para Rebecca Gibbs Jaelle Duff es una joven dulce, inteligente y creativa que disfruta leer, cantar, bailar y realizar teatro musical. Joe Crowell, Si Crowell, Understudy for Wally Felix Gooden fell in love with acting at a young age and grew up making and starring in his own home movies. He began formal training when he was nine and had his first lead role in his school’s dramatic production of The Nutcracker. He has also appeared in commercials for Children’s Health. Felix learned Spanish while attending Spanish World School in Dallas. He is currently in 7th grade at Sudie Williams TAG Academy in Dallas. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, running track, and playing video games.

SAM HENDERSON

Sam Craig, Musician-Piano Sam Henderson previously appeared at Dallas Theatre Center as Martin Luther King Jr. in The Mountaintop and in Romeo and Juliet. Also, in the DFW area, Sam has appeared in Hillary and Clinton and Mlima’s Tale, both at Second Thought Theatre; Under the Skin at Circle Theatre; Two Trains Running at Jubilee Theatre; King Liz at Amphibian Theatre, and A Doll’s House at WaterTower Theatre. Sam received his MFA in Acting from The Old Globe Professional Actor Training Program and is a Lecturer of Theatre and Film at Baylor University.

Joe Stoddard Bob Hess is a member of the Diane and Hal Brierley Resident Acting Company, last appearing in Dallas Theater Center’s To Kill a Mockingbird and It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Superman. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he has appeared on nearly every stage in the Metroplex over the last 40 years, most recently in WaterTower Theatre’s I Am My Own Wife and Stage West’s regional premiere of The Children. Other performances have included La Cage aux Folles, The Nance, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, and The Normal Heart (Uptown Players), Artist Descending a Staircase and King Liz (Amphibian Productions), Hir (Stage West), Rock of Ages and Million Dollar Quartet (Casa Manana), Hand to God, Pride and Prejudice, and Sexy Laundry (WaterTower Theatre), Ragtime (Lyric Stage), The Great God Pan (Second Thought Theatre), The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? TONYA HOLLOWAY Understudy for Stage Manager & Mrs. Gibbs Tonya Holloway has worked in film and theatre as a freelancer for over 20 years. She is Co-Founder of Soul Rep Theatre, where she has worn many hats as producer, writer, director and actor. Holloway served as Writing Consultant on season two of the Emmy nominated Amazon Prime series “#Washed”. In 2021, she worked on two features, ImPossible, starring Sherri Shepherd, JoMarie Payton and Gregg Daniel and the 70’s comedy, The Rings That Bind Us. She currently can be seen as Detective Karen Anderson on the Hulu hit series, “Cruel Summer”. This is her second show with the Dallas Theatre Center and deems it an honor to be working with some of Dallas’ finest.

Howie Newsome, Professor Willard, Understudy for Mr. Webb Ivan Jasso is excited to be returning to the stage after last being seen in the 2019/2020 touring production of Quixote Nuevo by Octavio Solis, with runs at Hartford Stage, Huntington Theatre Company, and Alley Theatre. As a writer, his script Devil In Retrograde was recognized for exceptional storytelling and his plays Retired, Restless & Wrung Out and From A Distance Dad were workshopped in 2020 and 2019. JAMAL STERLING Dr. Gibbs Jamal Sterling is an actor and voice over artist based out of Dallas, Texas. A native of Detroit, Michigan he graduated from Southern Methodist University’s MFA Acting Program in 2002. After years working on projects in Los Angeles and New Orleans, Jamal permanently relocated to Dallas where he continues to perform in a variety of productions on stage and screen. Most notable among Jamal’s screen work (which includes a host of films, television shows and commercials) are his performances in the television series “10-8” and “American Dreams” as well as multiple Dallas-based television series such as “Prison Break”, “Chase” and “Dallas”. A long term resident of Dallas, Mr. Sterling has appeared on stage in several productions in the city including Our Lady Of 121st Street, A Soldier’s Play, Titus Andronicus, Diamond Dick: The Tulsa Race Riots Of 1921, Fences, The Winter’s Tale, Race, Mississippi Goddamn, Firestorm, Nuestra Pastorela, The Royale, Othello, Lonely Planet and penny candy. Jamal, who along with his wife Nicole and daughter India resides in Plano, TX, is also a teacher for Ignite Middle School in Dallas ISD. He is a proud company member of Kitchen Dog Theater.

KENNEISHA THOMPSON Mrs. Gibbs Kenneisha Thompson is thrilled to be making her Dallas Theater Center debut! Her career began as a radio personality for Hampton University’s WHOV 88.1 FM. After earning a BA in Journalism & Communications, she continued as a gospel DJ for Dallas’s Heaven 97 KHVN. Her previous stage credits include Two Trains Running (African American Rep. Theater – AART), Company (Jubilee Theatre), The Firestorm (Kitchen Dog Theater), Bright Half Life (WaterTower Theatre), and King Liz (Amphibian Stage). Her film and TV credits include Hulu, Fox Searchlight, A24, TNT, and Freeform. Gaming fans will recognize her as the voice of “Lady Hammerlock” in “Borderlands: The PreSequel” and “Borderlands 3”. She also co-stars in the 2021 horror film Black as Night (Amazon Prime) and recurs in season 2 of “The Secrets of Sulphur Springs” (Disney/Disney+) – premiering early 2022! As an arts educator, Kenneisha has worked with various programs throughout DFW, such as Dallas Summer Musicals, StateraArts, and Junior Players. She’s also taught Fine Arts programs for Friendship-West Baptist Church and The Potter’s House Dallas. Stefanie has performed locally (Casa Manana Theatre, Cara Mia Theatre, and Company Member with Undermain Theatre), regionally and internationally (“Sesame Street” and Zen Zen Zo). A Healing Artist (yoga, storytelling, sound, and published playwright), she is known for bringing awareness into narratives. Stefanie presented at SXSW and Sedona Yoga Festival and is writing a solo show that combines healing with creative expression. Her album “Shine a Light” charted the billboards in New Age Music. She is Founder / CEO of Yena (formerly Hanuman Homies), a wellness accessibility nonprofit.

CARTER GILL (Movement Coach) Carter Gill has performed in several Off-Broadway and regional productions over the past 15 years. Most recently, he was a company member of Punchdrunk NYC’s Sleep No More and previously worked at Lincoln Center, Playwrights Horizons, The Lark, Theatre for a New Audience and The Women’s Project. Regionally, Gill has performed with The Berkshire Theatre Festival, Actors Theatre of Louisville, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Yale Repertory Theatre and Shakespeare Theatre Company, where he and the company were Helen Hayes Award nominees. As an educator, Gill studied and apprenticed in physical comedy and movement pedagogy under Christopher Bayes for three years at The Juilliard School and Yale School of Drama, and has continued to develop his own methods since 2013. Gill now teaches Bayes Technique, a physical technique inspired by Le Coq, influenced by Grotowski and focused on the unique challenges facing the American actor. Carter currently serves as a faculty member at Southern Methodist University, University of North Texas, New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and Pace University where he teaches acting, movement, on-camera technique, clown, and commedia. He holds a BFA in Theatre Studies with an emphasis in Directing from Southern Methodist University and an MFA in Acting from the Yale School of Drama. JONATHAN NORTON (Dramaturg) Jonathan Norton’s work has been produced or developed by Dallas Theater Center, Actors Theatre of Louisville/44th Humana Festival, PlayPenn, InterAct Theatre Company, Pyramid Theatre Company, Black and Latino Playwrights Conference, Bishop Arts Theatre Center, Soul Rep, African American Repertory Theater, Kitchen Dog Theater, Undermain Theatre, and Theatre Three. His play Mississippi Goddamn was a Finalist for the Harold and Mimi Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award and won the 2016 M. Elizabeth Osborn Award. His other awards include South Dallas Cultural Center Diaspora Performing Arts Commission, the TACA Donna Wilhelm Family New Works Fund, TACA Bowdon Family Foundation Artist Residency Fund, the Dallas Historical Society Creative Arts Excellence Award and Jubilee Theatre’s 2019 Eastman Visionary Award. Jonathan’s play penny candy was recently published by Deep Vellum Publishing. Jonathan is the Playwright in Residence at DTC. IVÁN DARIO CANO (Stage Manager) Iván Dario Cano (he/him) is a Colombian-American Stage Manager. He received his Master’s in Stage Management from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and is an Alumnus of The Juilliard School’s Professional Apprenticeship Program. Credits include Barrington Stage Company’s Get Your Pink Hands Off Me Sucka and Give Me Back; Gala Hispanic Theatre’s Las Divorciadas, La Candida Erendira; Juilliard’s The Trojan Women, Crumbs from the Table of Joy, Plano; Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre’s 2016-21 Summer Seasons, and A Christmas Carol 2015-18. He’s been a proud AEA member since 2015. ASHLEY OLIVER (Assistant Stage Manager) Ashley Oliver is a Stage Manager, Actor, and Director from Arlington, Tx. She holds a BA in Drama from Prairie View A&;M University and has been working in theaters around Dallas/ Fort Worth for 15 years. A Production Stage Manager by training, Bryan began his career in eastern North Carolina, serving as Stage Manager, Production Manager and Assistant Director for various educational and regional theatre projects. He spent the next several years overseeing show and production operations in the theme park industry, where he collaborated with numerous Tony® and Drama Desk award-winning designers to deliver world class productions. Bryan brings over a decade of corporate entertainment leadership experience to DTC to continue to grow the Production department’s focus on leadership, management and communication. ANDREW J. BROWN (Production Manager) has been with Dallas Theater Center since March of 2020. Previously Andrew worked with Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, the Huntington Theatre Company, and the Cape Playhouse. He has an MFA in Production Management from Boston University and a BFA in Scene Design from the University of Oklahoma. SARAHBETH GROSSMAN (Artistic Producer) is a Tony Award®-nominated and Olivier Award-winning Producer. DIANE AND HAL BRIERLEY RESIDENT ACTING COMPANY In 2009, with the generous support of Diane and Hal Brierley, Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty reinstated Dallas Theater Center’s resident acting company. His intent was to develop and nurture professional actors within the North Texas community and enable them to make Dallas their artistic home. At the same time, he sought to enhance Dallas Theater Center’s artistic profile and create ongoing collaborative relationships. The eleven-member Diane and Hal Brierley Resident Acting Company has since become a signature component of Dallas Theater Center’s presence in the Dallas Arts District.

COMPAÑÍA DE ACTUACIÓN RESIDENTE DE DIANE Y HAL BRIERLEY En el 2009, con el generoso apoyo de Diane y Hal Brierley, el director artístico Kevin Moriarty restableció la compañía de actuación residente del Dallas Theater Center. Su intención era desarrollar y nutrir a los actores profesionales dentro de la comunidad del norte de Texas y permitirles hacer de Dallas su hogar artístico. Al mismo tiempo, buscó mejorar el perfil artístico del Dallas Theater Center y crear relaciones de colaboración continuas. Desde entonces, la compañía de actuación residente de Diane y Hal Brierley, de once miembros, se ha convertido en un componente característico de la presencia del Dallas Theater Center en el distrito de las Artes de Dallas.
