Return To The Office

While other segments of the local economy have recovered quite strongly, the return of office workers has not kept pace, though it has seen a slow and steady increase over the past year. There is reason to believe that this incremental growth trend will continue, as 81% of our respondents who are office workers in DTLA say their employer plans to have them in the office at least half the time. However, failure to address the concerns of those returning workers will undoubtedly impact this growth.

To help understand the impacts of increasing office worker counts, we asked those respondents about the activities they undertake while in DTLA. Unsurprisingly, we found that virtually all office workers eat out while in Downtown and around 2/3rds like to shop when they are here.
