Capital Park is currently a destination-less urban peninsula sitting atop a parking garage. Using this existing condition we can increase the cities green space and provide a destination with how our building engages to the park space offering a glimpse into the development of the near future technologies they will soon see.
EXTEND CAPITAL PARK
PROCESS DRAWINGS
Newly proposed plans for Trentons waterfront development call for connecting Capital Park to what will be Trenton Falls Park, a public green space along the Delaware river. Connecting the riverfront at our site will offer more visibility of the school and it’s function, placing trade skills in direct sight of park goers making their way to and from the downtown area.
BRIDGE PUBLIC SPACES
PROCESS DRAWINGS
Offer a secondary means to the Capital park and Trenton Falls Park bridge. Engage the downtown street front with the building entry, retail and a showcase component for student work.
CONNECT TO DOWNTOWN
PROCESS DRAWINGS
Just as the Trenton bridge once showcased the prowess of Trenton’s once robust production, use our river face to showcase the intrigal pieces of our school that make it what it is. A place of higher education for trade and production, not just for the betterment of the individual but the advancement of the technologies we use everyday.
