EXPAND BUILDING FOOTPRINT & OUTDOOR SPACES - the relocation or removal of the track will allow the campus to spread out more and experiment with other design opportunities
EMPHASIS ON THE WORKSHOPS MAIN ENTRANCE FOR STUDENTS & FACULTY - overpowered by other programs spacially - overall not noticeable and big enough - doesn’t stand out from the site as the workshops are the special characters to the project EXPLORE SPATIAL QUALITIES IN SECTIONS - incoporate various roof heights for interesting atmospheres and hierarchy

FEEDBACK | OBSERVATIONS | REFLECTIONS
CHALLENGES & FEEDBACK POSITIVE 1. PRESENTATION BEGAN WITH PERSONAL AND RELATABLE TOPICS AND ISSUES • NARRATIVE AND DESIGN INTENTS WERE CLEAR AND VISIBLE IN THE PROJECT. 2. SUCCESSFULLY EXPANDED THE PROJECT AND PROGRAMMED THE SITE • REMOVING THE TRACK FROM THE FALL-TERM REVIEW DOUBLED THE BUILDING FOOTAGE, WHICH ALLOWED MORE DESIGN POTENTIALS. • ESTABLISHING SITE PROGRAMS BEYOND THE PERIMETERS OF THE SELECTED SITE TO CONNECT WITH SITE CONTEXT 3. BEAUTIFUL RENDERINGS • CALM AND PEACEFUL ATMOSPHERE WAS EXPRESSED BASED ON MY NARRATIVE. NEGATIVE 1. STRUGGLING WITH AN ENORMOUS SITE • THE OVERALL CIRCULATION SPACE COULD BE REDUCED FURTHER. • THE SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF PROGRAM SPACES LED TO MANY DIFFERENT SPECIAL MOMENTS WORTH THE ATTENTION AND EXPLORING, BUT THERE WERE ALSO MANY LIMITATIONS SUCH AS TIME AND PRESENTATION LENGTH. THE LARGE BUILIDING PLANS COULD CONFUSE THE ORIENTATION OF THE VIGNETTES.(VIEW KEY PLANS WERE PERMITTED TO BE OMITTED DUE TO THE SIZE) 2. STRUGGLING TO TELL A TOUCHING STORY • THE PROJECT COULD SWAY FROM MY INTENTS AND NARRATIVE FROM THE PROCESS. • THE EMOTIONS AND PERSONAL CONNECTIONS WITH THE AUDIENCE SEEMED A BIT LOST. REFLECTION I WAS HONEST WITH MY ADVISOR AND JURORS ABOUT NOT TRYING TO GIVE MYSELF UNIQUE CHALLENGES FOR THESIS, YET I STILL WENT THROUGH A SERIES OF DESIGN CHALLENGES. I ESPECIALLY STRUGGLED WITH STRUCTURE AS I HAVEN’T HAD MUCH RELATED EXPERIENCE AT WORK. THEREFORE, THE TECHNICAL REVIEW LEADING TO THE END REALLY MADE ME FACE MY OWN DEMON, AND I DEFINITELY FELT MORE COMFORTABLE WITH STRUCTURAL SYSTEMS. AT THE END OF THE DAY, I AM PROUD OF WHAT I PRODUCED AND MY VISIONS FOR THE PROJECT. THE JURORS COULD ALSO SEE MY EFFORTS AND IMPROVEMENTS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR.
