I wish to sell my villa which is currently tenanted until the end of the year. Can I ask the tenants to vacate as the buyer wishes to move in? The tenants cannot be asked to vacate prior to the end of their tenancy in the event the property is to be sold, unless previously stated and agreed upon in the tenancy contract and a vacating letter agreed by both parties. The seller would have to give a 12-month notice to the tenant to vacate from the date they sign the MOU with the new buyer. The new buyer would take over as the new landlord for that period.
