2022 Icons of Porsche festival attracts over 15,000 fans in Dubai

The 2022 Icons of Porsche festival has cemented itself as the Middle East’s premier automotive exhibition after an enormous crowd attended this year’s event.

Over 15,000 people from across the region attended the festival over two days last weekend, more than doubling last year’s two-day crowd of over 7,000 people.

This year’s festival was themed as the ‘Icons of Porsche, Safari Edition’, aligning with the taste for off-road adventure of fans and enthusiasts from the Middle East region.

The second staging of the popular festival was held at ‘The Slab’ in the Dubai Design District (D3) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 26 and 27 November 2022, beside the spectacular skyline of downtown Dubai.

The expanded 31,000 square foot site hosted over 1,100 Porsche vehicles, over 150 of these classics, displayed amongst five different zones, each presenting a different theme and catering for the diverse audience in attendance.

The 2023 edition of the Icons of Porsche festival, which will celebrate 75 years of Porsche sportscars, is planned to be held on 18-19 November 2023.

SHREK THE MUSICAL LANDS IN DUBAI FOR A SERIES OF ENCHANTING SHOWS IN FEBRUARY 2023

Shrek The Musical, based on the Oscarwinning DreamWorks film, will launch in Dubai from 21st to 26th February 2023, presented by Broadway Entertainment Group and Live Nation. The enchanting live musical will bring everyone’s favourite ogre to the stage at Dubai Opera for a series of captivating performances between 21st and 26th February 2023. This musical comedy show will include Shrek’s well-loved hilarious characters, from the brave Princess to the loud-mouthed Donkey, the short-tempered villain and beloved cookie and a host of fairy-tale favourites lighting up the stage. The show will tell the dazzling story of Shrek, in a faraway kingdom where things are turned upside down, when an unassuming ogre shows up to rescue a feisty princess instead of the typical handsome prince. This live take on the show will feature 19 additional tunes to the already popular soundtrack, creative choreography, and aweinspiring backdrops.

Across the running of the show, there have been over 500 spectacular performances since its launch on Broadway, New York in 2008 with the show winning eight coveted Tony Award nominations in 2009. The show has been performed on stages across UK, Ireland, Poland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Brazil, Sweden,

Denmark, Germany, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Macau and China. The epic show will now be performed throughout the Middle East across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and beyond.
