TRANSPORT For those arriving in Las Vegas by plane, there are a number of companies that offer shuttle bus services between McCarran International Airport and the various Las Vegas Strip and downtown hotels. Shuttles are located outside of baggage claim area at airport. Getting around the city is easy. Even though Las Vegas has become a sprawling metropolis, most of the things visitors want to see and do are grouped together making it easy reach them. Most hotels and attractions are located on the Vegas Strip. There are several options when you need public transportation in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Monorail is a simple system that runs along most of the Las Vegas Strip from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. (3 a.m. on weekends). Stations are located at different resorts on the east side of the Strip and can be caught every ten minutes or so. This is probably the easiest way to go if you are travelling some distance along the Strip. Some people opt for this rather than driving to avoid traffic congestion on the Strip at night. For shorter trips there also is a Strip Trolley (looks like a bus) that travels from Downtown Las Vegas to the South part of the Strip. The CAT bus system (Citizens Area Transit) serves all of Las Vegas and is quite helpful if you want to get to places away from the Vegas Strip or downtown area.
ATTRACTIONS There’s more to see and do in Las Vegas than you can possibly imagine. The Las Vegas Strip is the location of many of the largest hotels, casinos and resorts in the world. Among the places you can visit on the Strip are the Roman Forum, the Eiffel Tower, and the Statue of Liberty. At Caesars Palace, check out the Forum Shops. There is an animated statue show every hour on the hour from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the first rotunda and one in the fourth rotunda near the large aquarium. The Eiffel Tower observation deck at the Paris offers a great view of the Strip and a unique way to see the Bellagio fountain shows after dark. Operates from 10 a.m. to midnight. Guests and visitors to the New York- New York experience get a taste of the majesty of the Statue of Liberty, the excitement of Times Square, the ethnic flavour of Chinatown and Little Italy, and the nostalgia of Coney Island accentuated by the intense energy that only Las Vegas can provide. Opportunities to gamble are found in most places in the Las Vegas metro area, even at McCarran Airport and at small supermarkets. However, be advised that it is state law that all gamblers must be at least 21 years of age. Even if you are over 21 years old, you are required to bring a valid ID (e.g. driver’s license, passport) to the casino that shows your current

MOUNTAIN BIKING Bootleg Canyon in nearby Boulder City provides excellent technical cross-country and downhill trails, 30 minutes south of the Strip on Highway 93. Blue Diamond just south of Red Rock Canyon is the location of less technical riding, but with amazing views.
WHERE TO STAY The most famous hotel casinos are located on the Las Vegas Strip. Many of these hotels are massive, with thousands of rooms and adjoining casino areas. There are many hotel casinos in the city’s downtown area as well, which was the original focal point of the city’s gaming industry. Several large hotels and casinos are also located somewhat off the Strip but adjacent to it, as well as in the county around the city.

malls in Vegas. The idea of open-air shopping in the heat of the desert might seem crazy at first thought, but an extensive network of trees, shadow alleys and water sprayers let you actually enjoy sunny afternoons outside. All shops and restaurants have their own, distinguished one or two-storey houses. The town actually centres around a real town square featuring trees, ice-cream and coffee stands and benches to rest.
CURRENCY The unit of currency used in United States is the U. S. dollar, which is normally abbreviated as the dollar sign, $, or as USD or US$ to distinguish it from other dollar-denominated currencies and from others that use the dollar symbol. The U.S. dollar is divided into 100 cents.
