Modern Foreign Languages

This term our Year 7 & 8s have been preparing and rehearsing songs in Spanish and French during their MFL lessons, to sing and dance to at the end of the term.

The songs were:

Waka Waka (Year 7) | Paro (Year 8 French) | ¿Qué haces en tu tiempo libre? (Year 8 Spanish)

It was great to see them all perform in assembly in front of teachers and students. After the performances, the teachers voted for the best song. Some students were a bit nervous, however everyone rose up to the challenge amazingly, especially the Year 8 Spanish class who won the competition.

Here’s some comments from the students participating: “Well deserved win after our hard work” - Dylan “Thecongawasthecherryontop” - Benny and James “Atthebeginningitwashardbutthenitgoteasyandfun” - Lorenzo

Our Year 9 Spanish class have spent the last couple of weeks doing a vlog project in Spanish. They spent two lessons planning it and getting the scripts ready and two lessons recording it to then edit the filming to prepare a final video that we watched together in class this morning.

Here is a link to the vlog that was voted the best due to a number of reasons, such as: script that put into practise the Spanish expressions that we have studied this year, original idea, funny and interesting editing.
