Hi, I am Ziemek Wojciechowski, head coach at ZFW Club in London,also visiting coach at Dulwich College Shanghai。 I welcome you to this amazing competition. I am so pleased and touched that the competition is named after my name as Dulwich Ziemek Cup! I hope you will reach your new level of your performance. Although it is very stimulating to continue your development by participating this event, I wish you to fence with joy and passion, with intellectual engagement. As well as with strong desire to win, however focus on mind, and focus on process, what to do to win, what action and when, which moment to do. I hope it will be very new discovery for you, new level of your fencing. I am looking forward to seeing you at Dulwich Ziemek Camp in Shanghai in May. Good luck!

Eligibility and Represented Countries/Regions •

All fencers must have the legitimate potential to represent their country in this event at senior FIE level in the future. This is normally assessed by citizenship or parentage associated to the represented country or region.

Registered fencers are representing these countries and regions: Australia、Kazakhstan、 Malaysia、Japan、Uzbekistan、Singapore、New Zealand、Yemen、China、China HK etc.

Equipment and Weapon Check • • • • • • •

Fencing suit 350N or 800 N (FIE), with under plastron 800 N. Mask 350 or above. Foil blade size 5 or size 3/2/0 for U14 and size 3/2/0 for U11. High recommended that Lame shows Surname and representing Country or region Fencers are responsible for functioning equipment throughout the competition Weapon Check Items:Mask、Lame、under plastron、glove;Referee may check the tip pressure on piste; Weapon Check Open time: April 13 Thursday 16:00-20:00; April 14日 Friday 8:00- 17:00; Saturday 7:30-14:00 Non busy weapon check time, we have Mr. Yan provide complimentary armory service and only components cost will be charged.

FIE rules will be applied and the organizer reserves the right to adjust U14 and U11 - Poules will be to five points, 1 x 3 minutes Direct Elimination U14 will be to 15 points, 3 x 3 minutes Direct Elimination U11 will be to 10 points, 3 x 3 minutes U14 MF has 2 rounds of poules and U11 WF has super poule The seeding of U14 second round poule will be based on the results of first round poule Seeding of teams will be based on the ranking of poules and teams fence for places. Those eligible for U14 and U11 in terms of age are allowed to join both Strip coach during direct elimination bouts but not during the poules.

Campus Security Guidance •

First-time arrival at Dulwich campus, please get visitor badge either through Gate 1 or 2 on Lan An Rd, ask direction for sports center and you may get competition pass during designated registration time slots

Pre-competition Camp participants may get the competition pass early for easy entry into campus through gate 1 or 2

In case of rain on Friday morning around 8am, the closest gate to sports center through the wood fence will be open since 7:45am.

On competition day, please proceed to registration desk and get the souvenir; then weapon check ; warm up by yourself; check in 15 minutes before your poule starting time; overseas fencers or clubs need to settle payment at your earliest convenient time;

All fencing bags to be dropped at designated area;

Can warm up outside if weather permits; Please do not enter other buildings or swimming area at the basement of the building; 1619 suite on 3rd floor is open for warm up and sparring on April 15-16; Master mini-workshop will be held there too; Please wear flat shoes into gym without any risk of damaging the sports floor there; The restrooms on ground floor are for fencers and all adults except referees and staff are recommended to use the ones on 3rd floor.

You may purchase sports drinks, coffee, tea, snacks and lunches of 4 different cuisines in cash on competition days. Limited fencing equipment, including size 2 blades and Tshirts are on sale.

Can park at one side of Lan An Rd at cost or free parking at Carrefour supermarket parking lot (5-10 minutes walking to school)

Pudong airport (PVG) is the close one to venue.

The organizer reserves the right to amend the format of any competition in order to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the event.

The English version of handbook prevails the Chinese version.

Dulwich Fencing •

Launched in April 2016 initiated by our fencers themselves and their families, under the leadership of Dulwich Fencing Committee, Dulwich Fencing has grown strong with over 230 students from DUCKS to Senior school enrolled in our program in only one year.

Whether you are a beginner or an elite fencer, we have exciting quality sessions covering fitness, technique and sparring along with world-class visiting Maestro and Olympian fencers! We have hosted Ziemek Camp in May 2016, Winter Invitation in Dec 2016 and Spring Invitation in Feb 2017.

We are committed to build up our community, introduce this old and skillful sport to more students and guide them to become a well-rounded person through fencing!

This Spring, we are welcoming fencers from 10 Asia and Oceania countries to join Dulwich Ziemek Cup April 14-16. In May, we will host two amazing camps, one by Maestro Ziemek and the other by fencing legacy Andrea Baldini and Olympian Irem Karamete, their FIRST-EVER Camp in China!



Our Network
