Residents in Muirhevnamor have vowed to fight tooth and nail to prevent a six-storey apartment block being built in their estate. A well-attended meeting took place on Monday evening in the Muirhevnamor Community Centre which was hosted by local Fianna Fáil councillor Emma Coffey who answered questions regarding the planning process and submitting objections. Planning permission for the six-storey apartment block was lodged on the 20th June at the address Grange Close, Muirhevnamor asking for: ‘Permission for the demolition of the existing commercial unit and the construction of a six storey apartment block made up of 4 x one bedroom apartments, 11 x two bedroom apartments, 4 x three bedroom apartments (19 apartments in total), bin storage, bicycle storage, communications room, new boundary treatments including associated hard and soft landscaping, connection to the existing mains sewer, new onsite surface water attenuation system and associated site development works.’ John Carroll, Anthony Kinahan (Outcomers Drogheda), Bernardine Quinn (Outcomers), Dean McCague, and Padraig Matthews (Outcomers Drogheda) at the Dundalk Pride 2022 Launch.
