A fundraiser for Dundalk man Paddy McDowell aka Jesus Jones has succeeded in raising enough money to buy a headstone for the grave of his parents. The headstone was recently erected in Dowdallshill graveyard for Charles and Norah who passed away in 2000 and 2001 respectively. Paddy - or Jesus Jones as he is affectionately called - is from Marian Park and is well known for singing on the streets of Dundalk. “It’s good. I was surprised we raised the money so quickly. It didn’t take years. I’m very happy the headstone is up,” said the 72-year-old. “It’s somewhere to go and think about my parents. It’s a lovely location for a graveyard. It’s very peaceful here.” After spending some time in a recording studio last year, he is due to release a single and video to help raise more money. Paddy McDowell, from Marian Park, thanked the people of Dundalk for helping him raise enough money to buy a headstone for the grave of his deceased parents Charles and Norah. Continued on Page 2
