Dundalk deliver for Meals on Wheels
COVID-19 has caused a huge amount of disruptions to schools over the last eighteen months with teachers and students losing numerous days in the classroom since the initial lockdown in March 2020. The Junior Cert exams were cancelled in both 2020 and 2021 while the Leaving Certificate was replaced with calculated grades last year as the virus caused havoc for the educational system. Eighteen months into the pandemic teachers are slightly more positive about the upcoming school year given the fact that the majority of teachers will be vaccinated this time around but teachers unions have reported anxiety amongst many of their pregnant members in particular. St Nicholas’ Monastery National School Principal Katriona Cosgrove is hoping the return to school won’t be as “unpredictable” as last year. Katriona said that she is looking forward to it and hoping that there will be a return to Sean Farrell, President Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, John Hennessy, Chairman of Dundalk Social Service Council-Meals on Wheels and Joanne Duffy, Services Manager for Bus normality.
