The chairman of Haggardstown Tidy Towns has urged the local authority to upgrade infrastructure and amenities in the area given the massive population growth in the area in recent years. New housing developments have been built and are being built, making Haggardstown one of the fastest growing areas in Leinster but according to Shane McGuinness, basic needs such as adequate lighting have not been delivered to help cope with the extra footfall in the region. “Haggardstown Tidy Towns set up last March and we have a very vibrant hardworking group of sixty volunteers who are doing their best to keep Haggardstown tidy. Paddy’s fund-raiser makes waves in Carlingford
81-year-old Paddy Conaghan took to the water in Carlingford this week as part of his mission to swim at every beach and pier in Ireland. The ‘Ducking and Driving around Ireland’ fundraiser is all in honour of local counselling service ‘Gemma’s Legacy of Hope’ which was set up to support people of all ages in Donegal.
