Louth Senator John McGahon has said he has received a number of letters and emails telling him to take his own life. John made his comments following the tragic death of UK conservative MP David Amess who was fatally stabbed at a constituency clinic. “Personally speaking, I’ve never received a death threat. I’ve never received a threat that I’ve had to report to the gardai,” said John. “I have received stuff like anonymous letters in the post or by email telling me I should go and kill myself. “I had one there recently that I put on Facebook at the time. I put out a note asking people what issues they are having in their local area and someone posted it back to my office to say that I should go and kill myself.” Continued on Page 2
