Change brings opportunities and we are confident of Finnian’s continued success.” the Annual Blackrock Raft Race organised by Blackrock Social Group will take place on Monday 5th June (Bank holiday Monday) at high tide (1pm). the days events will be starting at 11am with sandcastle building for the kids and volleyball and tug’o’war for the older kids. Busking from 1112 will keep the masses entertained while the excellent Dundalk Brass Band will be playing from 12-1pm. the main event, the Blackrock Raft Race, will be at 1pm followed by live music in the lower car park at Centra from 3pm with the urge. Presentation and live music will continue until 5pm. the main sponsors this year are Blackrock Connect Credit union with Sub Sponsors and raft entries. there are also new dingys this year. the list of entrants so far includes: Sub Sponsors, uncle tom’s Cabin, Roddy Repairs, Mullens

Sunshine walk for SAFe
A SPoNSoReD walk in aid of SAFe (Suicide Awareness for everyone) will take place at the Navvy Bank, Point Road on June 23rd. the walk is being organised by a number of local groups including the Irish Wheelchair Association, Rehabcare and St John of Gods.
SAFe Castlebellingham was set up in Sep- tember and provides a free confidential counselling service. the charity also has a mobile unit which visits villages and communities in the mid-Louth area to raise awareness of mental health issues as well as the importance of seeking help.
People who take part in the walk will be greeted by positive slogans along the route and there will also be a drinks station at the end as well as a few surprises. It is hoped to have a good turnout of service users, family and friends. Sponsorship cards can be collected from the Irish Wheelchair Association’s office at the Long Walk Dundalk. the Geraldines, Centra, Short Cuts, McKeown Drilling, haggardstown Garden Centre. the annual Blackrock Raft Race has been a hugely popular event down through the years and this year promises to be a great occasion once again.
