Dundalk boxer, Amy Broadhurst, was given the seal of approval from Katie Taylor when the Olympic champion made a special visit to the town to recognise her latest achievement. The Colaiste Ris pupil became the second Irish female boxer to win European gold at the 2012 European Women’s Youth and Junior Championships in Poland. The first winner was Katie Taylor, who surprised Amy with a visit to congratulate her at her school last week. Amy was a member of the Irish Squad who travelled to Poland to compete earlier this month in the 57kg category. She entered the final round one point down but came back to beat her Rus-

A group of 200 angry students from DkIT gathered outside Fine Gael TD Peter Fitzpatrick’s office this week to protest against proposed cuts to grants and fee increases. The students gathered at the office beside the Dundalk Court House with banners, calling for the TD to fight for an end to policies that would put further financial pressure on students and their families. The protest was a part of a nationwide campaign by the Union of Students Ireland to prevent a €250 euro fee increase for the next academic year bringing the total to Full Story on Page 20

The Festival of Light and Culture was a great success, and it was the people who braved the dismal November weather who helped make it so. The organising committee of the Festival of Light and Culture has worked dillegently for many months to bring light to the heart of Dundalk for one winter’s night. The parade, market stalls and outdoor music were enjoyed by the whole community who wrapped up, waterproofed and got on with the business of enjoying the festivities.

The region’s heritage was displayed spectacularly as the Cooley Warriors led the lantern parade through the main streets. The huge volume of activites that happen in the area were also highlighted as community groups, from sports teams to school choirs, took part in some of the night’s myriad of activities. The stall holders at the market said they found the community spirit remarkable as people seemed focused on enjoying the festivities and ignored the weather. Committee member Fiona Cunningham described the night

as a great success but regretfully they could not legislate for the weather. “It was incredible to see the amount of people who came out. The atmosphere was just fantastic,” she said. The event received much praise when people took to social networks to comment on the success of the efforts of those involved. The Festival of Light and Culture is set to be an annual winter festival in Dundalk. New tourist officer Sinead Roche will be charged with encouraging some the

diaspora to go to the event in 2013 as a part of the Gathering, and after the success of the weekend she will have a lot to promote. She congratulated all those involved in the event and said “their hard work,

determination and dedication produced a truly amazing festival. The thousands of people who attended the various events held around the town stayed out through the rain to be part of this special night”, she said.

A huge crowd turned out for Dundalk’s Festival of Light

Fesitve treat for Dundalk’s shoppers Dundalk’s Christmas shoppers are in for a special festive treat with the opening of an ice rink at the Market Square. The ice rink is set to surround the fountain in the heart of the Square while a variety of events have been planned for the area throughout the Christmas shopping season. An hour of ice skating will cost €10 for children and €12 for adults with a special family rate of €35. The organisers are also hoping to arrange dedicated sessions for school groups at special discounted rates.

The official opening of Dundalk Square on Ice will take place on Friday night December 7 and it will coincide with the switching on of the Town Centre Christmas tree by Town Council Cathaoirleach Jennifer Green. The project will also benefit charity with 5 per cent of ticket sales going to SOSAD. Dundalk Town Centre Commercial Manager Andrew Mawhinney has said that the Dundalk Square on Ice event will boost the town’s Christmas shopping revenue.

Man was over the limit A man who was convicted of drink driving at Dundalk District Court was disqualified from driving for two years. Niall Fearon, 24A Mullagh Rd, Mullaghbawn, Co Armagh, pleaded guilty to the offence on March 26 this year at Lurgankeel, Kilcurry. Gardai found the defendant asleep in his car on the road at

6.15am and initially he gave his name as Peter Fearon. The 26-yearold stated that he was

driving a friend’s car and was not insured. He was also fined €300.

Driver told ‘cop on or risk killing somebody’ A mother who feared her son had died in a collision warned a hit-and-run driver that he risked killing somebody if he didn’t cop himself on. Caroline McArdle recalled the night Gerard Soraghan of Dunmahon, Dundalk, crashed into her car, in which her two sons were passengers, before driving off, when she gave evidence at Dundalk District Court. Just before Soraghan’s case was heard, Ms McArdle received an apology as a result of the incident on October 1, 2011, after which she gave him a stern warning. “He apologised to me in the hall outside and I told him that he will end up killing somebody, or even himself, if he doesn’t cop on. We could have been wiped out”, she stated.

The witness revealed that at 2am on the night in question she was bringing her 13-year-old son home from a disco and was stopped at traffic lights at Xerox on the Dublin Road. Just as she made a remark that she hated being on the road at that time of the night she saw a BMW swerve to change direction at the lights but hit a kerb and came zigzagging towards her car. There was nothing she could do to avoid an impact which resulted in her car spinning around 180 degrees. Ms McArdle, who was trapped, stated that she feared her 11-yearold son had been killed because he went silent. However, her older son managed to free all from the car. The witness, who requires an operation on her nose and has disc injuries, said all three were bleed-

ing and in shock, but the driver of the other car had left the scene. Judge Flann Brennan imposed a three month suspended sentence for what he described as a very serious offence. “It can safely be said that the only lucky thing about this is that nobody was killed. Gerard Soraghan left the scene and that was a very cowardly and dreadful thing to do”, said the judge. The 23-year-old apprentice plumber also faced a charge of drink driving following an incident on January 22 this year. He admitted driving a car that crashed into a wall on the Avenue Road and tests at Dundalk Garda Station showed he was over the legal limit for driving. Judge Brennan imposed a three-year disqualification and a fine of €300 for the offence.

Louth VEC and operates each Saturday from 9:30am to 3:30pm. “There is a large Polish population in Dundalk and its surrounding areas. Our school provides children with the opportunity to learn the Polish language and learn about Polish culture and heritage. Many will have grandparents and cousins in Poland and our school will help them to communicate more effectively - speaking, reading and writing”, she added. Over 30 children from ages 4 to 15 years currently attend the school which is based at the VECs Continuing Education Centre at Chapel Street, Dundalk and the majority of students live in the town. Numbers are expected to grow over the coming months as the school establishes itself within the community.

that she had been an excellent employee. His solicitor stated that while he had been drinking on the night, he was not offering that as an excuse, and that he tried to resolve the matter and apologise. He was never violent before and is embarrassed by his actions. The solicitor added that his client was not trying to intimidate the victim, simply attempting to bring the issue to a resolution. Audrey Hamill, who told the

court that she suffered a back injury and a scar as a result of the incident, stated that she felt she was being constantly harassed and intimidated by people approaching her. However, she added that no direct threats had been made to her. The defendant’s solicitor stated that his client had €1,500 towards compensation but Judge Flann Brennan indicated that he felt €2,000 would be a more acceptable figure. The case was adjourned until May 1.

Excellent Surplus ings are 100% secure as Dundalk CredGenerated For Financial Year it Union is one of Ireland’s strongest At a time of economic and financial uncertainty, the more than twenty four thousand members of DCU will be delighted to hear that their Credit Union is performing excellently with the surplus generated on day to day activities for the year to the end of September 2012 exceeding €6m. According to Tom D’Arcy, Treasurer of Dundalk Credit Union, “This strong surplus position allowed the Board to add significant additional amounts to our provisions and reserves in 2012 while also recommending the payment of a dividend of 1.5%.” Tom continued “we feel this year’s proposed surplus distribution – with an emphasis on further strengthening an already strong balance sheet while also paying a competitive dividend on what are largely “on-demand” savings, is a very prudent approach considering the continued uncertainty in the wider economy”

A Fantastic Savings & Loans Package

Pat Muckian, Chairman, Dundalk Credit Union, is very pleased with the Credit Union’s performance this year saying that “ in these difficult times more and more people are seeing the benefits of Dundalk Credit Union. Not

Credit Unions with capital reserves in 2012 well in excess of all Central Bank requirements and, in addition, member savings in Dundalk Credit Union are covered by the State guarantee.” Pat also points out that with many banks simply not lending to many ordinary people and their rates for personal loans approaching 15% in some cases, the interest rate on all member loans charged by Dundalk Credit Union of just 6.99% is one of the lowest loan rates in the Country. Pat adds “this low interest rate for loans when taken in conjunction with the security and return that members receive on their savings, means Dundalk Credit Union really has fantastic Savings and Loans package on offer for members”.

Strong Foundation. Vibrant Future.

Billy Doyle, Manager of Dundalk Credit Union, points out that the “Credit Union Sector in general is facing into a period of change, challenge and opportunity. With total provisions and reserves exceeding €36m or almost 22% of the balance sheet at year-end, Dundalk Credit Union is very well positioned financially and indeed otherwise to build on this excellent foundation and to plan for and embrace the opportunities that are emerging for Ireland’s

Man feared telling his wife about moneylender A man who was too embarrassed to tell his wife that he had borrowed from a moneylender attempted to cover his tracks by claiming that he had been robbed. Martin Fee of Knockbridge, Dundalk, called Gardai to report a robbery on August 24, 2011. He said that after locking up his shop at Greengates, he had stopped to help two men on a motorbike. They over-powered him and took €3,000. However, Garda

investigations, including the studying of CCTV cast doubt on the claim and it transpired that it was a false report. Fee’s solictor stated that his client owned and operated a shop at Greengates but was finding it hard to make it viable. He had to pay a €3,000 debt on the day and was not thinking clearly. He felt he was unable to explain why he had to repay the

money so he took it from the safe in the shop and made up the story about the robbery to cover his tracks. He added that the 45-year-old had never been in trouble and there was no attempt to make an insurance claim. His motivation was only to be able to explain the missing money. Judge Flann Brennan adjourned the case until January 9 for a Probation Report.

W spotkaniu wzięły udział organizacje: Muirhevnamor Community Council, Simul Polonia, Louth African Women Support Group, Irish Traveller Movement, Clann Naofa Boxing Club i Failte Abhaile. Raz jeszcze zapraszamy Was serdecznie! Eugeniusz Ząbek.

the Russian girl and I’m delighted for her. “The win will be a great boost to women’s boxing in Ireland as Amy has proved that we can go into these competitions and beat the best,” said Katie. To celebrate Amy’s win

the principal and staff at Coliste Ris decided to hold a little event to honour her win. Keeping Amy in the dark, they got in touch with the Taylor family and asked if they would visit Amy at her party on Friday last. Amy’s parents and siblings were smuggled into the school as were the Taylors. At the opportune mo-

ment Katie Taylor emerged with a celebration cake for Amy in hand and congratulated her on her win. The Bray boxer and her family stayed for much of the afternoon meeting and speaking with the students and staff. Fifteen-year-old Amy has trained with Dealgan Boxing Club since she was 8.

Her talent for the sport was apparent from a very early age and the club are delighted with her win. Last week’s competition was Amy’s first international. “It was a significant win for any kid” said Anthony Donnelly, Dealgan Boxing Club and Irish Amateur Boxing Association Louth Secretary.

DkIT offer early bird sale on courses Dundalk Institute of Technology is providing an extra incentive to get back to study by offering a 50% discount for those who enrol before the end of November.

The novel idea is already proving a hit as students are taking advantage of the offer by booking early for the New Year courses, according to Anton Barrett, Head of Lifelong

Learning at DkIT. “There are always peaks of interest in the courses in September and January but we just thought we would give people who book early the opportunity to avail

of a special deal. “I think 50% discount is a great deal and is very attractive if people want to book something for themselves or if they are buying a Christmas present for somebody”, explained Anton who has already seen a good uptake. “As the deadline approaches the interest is really picking up and many more booking that you would normally have at this time of year. It is not surprising as this is a very good deal. “If people are thinking of taking up a course then I would encourage them to get on line at www.learn. ie and see what courses are available, and then to book”, added Anton.

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 28 at 7pm at the VEC Education Complex, Chapel Street, Dundalk and interested parents and prospective students are invited along to hear more about the school. There will be an opportunity on the night to meet some of the school’s teachers. Presentations will be bilingual and light refreshments will be served. Coláiste Lú has commenced its enrolment process. Members of the school’s teaching staff are currently visiting primary schools across the county promoting the school and distrib-

uting enrolment forms. CEO of the VEC and the school’s interim manager, Dr. Pádraig Kirk, said, “we are absolutely delighted with the level of interest and reaction from primary schools,

including principals, teachers and students. We’ve had a steady stream of phone and email enquiries from parents and I am delighted to report that we have already received a con-

siderable volume of applications for a place in first year next September”. The school’s prospectus and its website, www.colaistelu.ie, were launched recently at an event held in the VEC’s head office at Chapel St. in Dundalk. Dr. Kirk added, “We will start small, but think big. No more than two small first year groups will commence at the school next September”. At full capacity the school is expected to have approximately 250 students. The VEC recently acquired new premises at Chapel St. The building is currently undergoing restoration and refurbishment work and will act as the startup accommodation for the school.

Over to you QUESTION: Should Sean Quinn be let out of prison for Christmas?

Michael Kelly Snr

Don Johnston

Joe Temple

Luke Martin

Frank Gaughran

It’s a disgrace that he was put in prison in the first place. He had 10,000 people employed in Cavan and gave a lot to that county. Admittedly he made mistakes but he did say he’d pay that money back.

I think he should be let out alright. I was very surprised when he got a sentence to be honest. I think six or seven weeks is enough and he should be let out for Christmas.

Yes. I think he should be let out for Christmas. I don’t think it’s really fair that it’s just him that is in prison. There are plenty more people who have caused just as much damage to the country who have not stood before the courts.

No, I think he should serve his nine weeks to be honest. Having said that I think he was a fall guy for a lot of people. There’s a lot more than him that should be in there as well.

I’d be of the opinion that he should serve his full sentence. If you let him out for Christmas, why shouldn’t everybody else be let out? Where do you draw the line? If you do the crime you should serve the time.

Dundalk man didn’t return to pay for car A Dundalk man who failed to return with money after agreeing to purchase a vehicle is facing ten months in prison or 200 hours community service. Martin Ward, 63 Castleross, Castletown Road, pleaded guilty to theft and said he was very ashamed of his actions. Dundalk District Court heard that on September 21,

2011, at Coes Road he spoke to a man about purchasing a car. After a test drive he agreed a fee and left in the vehicle to get money. However, he failed to return. The car was later identified by Gardai and Ward admitted the offence. The value of the car was €600. His solicitor stated that the 27-year-old father of two was

ashamed of himself and had no excuses. He added that he wished to compensate the injured party. Judge Flann Brennan noted that no compensation had been paid as yet. In adjourning the case until January 9 for a Community Service report, he said that he would consider 200 hours community service in lieu of 10 months in prison.

The Dundalk Simon Community are promising a night to remember for followers of style and the latest trends when they hold a festive lunch and fashion show in the Ballymascanlon Hotel on Sunday December 2. The end of year fundraiser promises to be a stylish affair with a fashion show that will feature clothes from Brass Rail, Eden, Pulse Pacemaker, Rapport and Tony McDonnell Menswear. There will be a special reward for the best dressed lady on the day as they will receive a Michael Kors handbag for their efforts.

According to Niall Mulligan, CEO of Dundalk Simon Community, the event promises to be a lot of fun whilst more importantly raising much needed funds for the local Simon Community. “This would be our major fundraiser and I’m hopeful that people will come out and support us. There are only 200 tickets available and they are already on sale so I’d recommend people get in touch with us if they want to go.” explained Niall. “This is our busiest time of year and all money collected from the fashion show will go

back into our services here in Dundalk and help make Christmas that little bit easier for people who are homeless.” added Niall. The event kicks off on the2nd of December with a drinks reception for all in attendance followed by a lunch which will include a starter, main and dessert. Lots of fabulous raffle prizes to be won plus a goody bag from Mizu for everybody. Tickets (€50 each) are available in the boutiques, from the hotel and from Johanna on 0877118412.

New stop for Matthews

Angry students protest at Square over rising costs of education Students protesting at the Square on Monday afternoon

From page 1 €2,500. It is also anticipated that the maintenance grant which assists 42% of DkIT students, will also be cut. The Students Unions warned that the two proposals would force current students out of education as well as raising the barrier to many who hoped to enter third level institutions in coming years. The USI also predicted that

any cuts in grants or fee increases would hit the local economy hard as there would be fewer students with less disposable income. A recent forecast estimated that this year there will be €125k less spent by students in Dundalk businesses. Next year they estimate this will double and in three years the damage to the local economy would reach €2.5 million.

Speaking to the Dundalk Leader from his offices as the students chanted outside, Deputy Fitzpatrick said that he believed that people should be entitiled to an affordable education and committed to exploring every possible avenue to see it realised. He said he had made representations to the Minister for Education on behalf of the students but would not receive a

response until later this week. Later he emerged from his offices and addressed the students directly saying that he did understand where they were coming from and would work on their behalf but was awaiting responses from his government colleagues. He commended the students for the manner in which they presented their issues.

Matthews Coaches are moving their town centre stop at the Old Dundalk Shopping Centre to the Marshes Shopping Centre from December 1. The company will no longer stop or pick up on the Dublin Road from the same date. No other stops will be affected. “We have had to vacate our existing stop on the Dublin Road due to the upcoming redevelopment work and the removal of current parking arrangements for passengers and coaches,” said Matthews Coach Hire Managing Director Paddy Matthews. For parking, the Marshes Shopping Centre is planning to offer a deal to regular Matthews’ customers. They will give a monthly rate of €30 to help facilitate commuters. There will also be Park and Ride facilities but customers are advised to arrange for a parking pass in advance of travelling by contacting 9395240.

SUV OF THE YEAR The Subaru XV has been named the ‘SUV of the Year’ by 4x4 Magazine for 2012. The judging panel, comprised of members of the magazine’s editorial team, praised the XV’s ‘enjoyable’ and ‘involving’ drive, fuel economy and off-road ability. . Commenting on the XV’s victory, Nigel Fryatt, Editor, 4x4 Magazine, said: “The SUV class in 4x4 Magazine’s 4x4 of the Year test is one of the most competitive. The Subaru XV was an interesting new arrival in that class, which did much to impress judges. “For a vehicle which obviously spends most of its time on-road, it is such an enjoyable drive, involving the driver in a positive manner. It also boasts promising fuel economy potential.

When we took it offroad, given the obvious limitations of ground clearance, the Subaru completed our test route with ease. But what

clinched it for the XV was Subaru’s Everything Taken Care of customer service package, which has to be one of the best around.”

The Subaru XV is available with 1.6 petrol manual or CVT, 2.0 petrol manual or CVT and 2.0D manual options.

BMW X3 - The sDrive 18D

There is a new entry level BMW X3 – the sDrive18d. The sDrive18d is the first twowheel drive X3 in the range – drive goes to the rear wheels. It is powered by a 2.0 litre diesel engine which produces 143hp with the choice of either a six-speed manual gearbox or eight-speed automatic. The 143hp is capable of 195kph/121mph and will accelerate

from 0-100kph/62 mph in a respectable 9.9 seconds. The X3 sDrive18d emits 135g/ km of CO2 with an official combined fuel consumption figure of 5.1L/100km (55.4mpg). The X3 sDrive18d standard equipment includes Auto StartStop, Drive Performance Control, 17-inch alloy wheels, Nevada Leather upholstery and BMW

iDrive with a 6.5-inch colour screen but does not include Hill Descent Control which only features on four-wheel drive models. The M Sport models feature 18-inch alloy wheels, M aerodynamic bodystyling, Sport seats and Sport suspension. If you are looking to use the BMW X3 sDrive18d as a tow car it will pull upto 2,000kg.

NEW KIA SORRENTO will be here in 2013 The face lifted sevenseater 2013 Kia Sorrento will go on sale in 2013, with a new 2.4 litre directinjection petrol engine being amongst the enhancements. The revised Kia Sorrento is available with one petrol engine and two turbo diesel units – the petrol unit is a 2.4 litre Theta II GDI engine which produces 192 PS and 242 Nm of torque. On the combined cycle the fuel consumption is recorded as 8.8L/100km (32mpg). Our choice would be the 2.2 litre diesel engine which produces 197 PS and 436 Nm of torque, so not only is it more powerful than the petrol unit, it is quicker and fuel consumption is more respectable. The CO2 emissions are lower at

153 g/km compared to 202 g/km of the petrol unit. There is a smaller 150 PS 2.0 litre diesel that produces 382 Nm of torque with CO2 emissions of 159 g/km, there seems to be little

benefit in it over the 2.2 engine with fuel consumption being higher at 6.1L/100km (46mpg) to the 2.2’s 5.8L/100km (49mpg). The 2.4 GDI and 2.TCI are available with either a six-speed manual

or automatic gearbox, where the 2.0 TCI is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. All engines are available with either 2WD or 4WD depending on the model. The 4WD drivetrain is an ‘on demand’ system

the NEW LEXUS LS The new Lexus LS range comprises the LS 460, LS 600h and now an F Sport Version. More than 3,000 modifications have been made to the new LS over the outgoing model, including better driving dynamics, sound insulation and safety equipment. The new LS will feature five switchable driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport S and Sport S+. Which adjust the driving dynamics of the LS to help deliver the preferred balance of economy, comfort, performance and h a n d l i n g characteristics. A number of vehicle systems that were previously operated independently have now been consolidated within the Drive Mode Select for ease of use. Changing modes is quick and easy, using a dial selector on the front console. The touch screen human interface has

been enhanced with a 12.3” screen and the navigation system benefits hard disc drive and internet connectivity, making it one of the fastest and most accurate systems on the market. Most cars will be fitted with a 19-speaker Mark Levinson Reference Surround System, and the rear seat entertainment system has been upgraded to include a Blu-Ray disc player. LED lighting is now available for all lights, including the headlights,

rear and fog lamps and of course the day time running lights. Of the safety front the Lane-Keep Assist system has been upgraded so that it can respond to external factors such as changes in road camber changes and crosswinds. A Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) system is also available. The F Sport model includes lowered suspension and Brembo 6-piston calliper front brakes and paddle shift controls. The rear-wheel drive LS 460 F Sport model further benefits

from the addition of a Torsen limited slip differential and paddle shift controls that incorporate automatic throttle blipping on downshifts. The F Sport even has an intake sound generator on the engine that amplifies the vibration of the intake pulse and introduces it into the cabin. The new Lexus LS 460 and LS 600h will go on sale in 2013, with further details of performance, specification and pricing to be announced.

that delivers 100 per cent of engine torque to the front wheels during routine city and highway driving. Whenever a front wheel loses grip up to 50 per cent of the torque is automatically transferred to the rear

wheels. In severely slippery conditions the driver can select Lock Mode, which delivers 50 per cent of torque to each axle. Access to the cabin has been improved by the 10 mm lower ride height. The cabin floor has also been lowered, increasing legroom by 30 mm (second row) and 9 mm (third row). There have been a number of enhancements to both the interior and exterior - New front and rear bumpers now feature unconventional upright fog lights. There is a new front grille and headlamps with LED positioning lights, and a new tailgate with reshaped LED combination lamps. Depending on model, the Sorento’s updated styling is completed with 17-,

18- or new 19-inch alloy wheels. On the inside there are more soft-touch surfaces - with a satin chrome finish for the door handles, air-vent surrounds and switches plus a new LCD instrument cluster, new centre stack with seveninch LCD display screen and a new centre console featuring (on automatic transmission models), a straight-gate selector with a leather-booted lever. Kia have spent a lot of time with revisions to the bodyshell ensure it meets the latest official crash test standards, the existing Sorento was awarded a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating – the new model promises to improve on this, especially as the tests are now more stringent – a

key feature being that the bodyshell’s rigidity has been increased by 18 per cent. The revised Kia Sorento will be equipped with up to six front, side and curtain airbags. All Sorentos will be fitted with an active bonnet which raises the rear edge during a collision to reduce the severity of pedestrian injury. Active safety technologies available will include ESC (electronic stability control), VSM (vehicle stability management), a reversing safety camera mounted on the tailgate with a 130-degree wideangle lens, HID Xenon headlamps and HAC (hill-start assist control), which prevents slip-back when pulling away on inclines.

ALL NEW RANGE ROVER The fourth generation Range Rover will go on sale shortly. Deliveries are expected throughout 2013 for those of you who place their order now after looking through the 18,000 option permutations. The new Range Rover is the first SUV to use an all-aluminium body which means a weight saving of around 350kg which pays dividends in the fuel and CO2 emissions ratings. The weight saving helps the 510PS LR-V8 Supercharged model to accelerate from 0-100kph/62mph in just 5.1 seconds, a reduction of 0.8 seconds over the outgoing model. At the same time, fuel consumption is cut by 9 per cent. It also means that the new Range Rover will have the option of two diesel power units a 3.0-litre TDV6 engine and the current 4.4-litre TDV8. This allows the Range Rover for the first time to achieve 7.5L/100km (37.7mpg) on the official combined fuel cycle. Plus there will be a diesel Hybrid model in 2013 that will see CO2 emissions of around 169 g/km, which is ground breaking the Range Rover. As you would expect the new Range Rover features the latest interior technologies for comfort, convenience and seamless connectivity. The new and improved features include:

Convenience - premium features including keyless entry, soft door close with power latching, power upper and lower tailgates, cooler compartments, and electrically deployable towbar High-end audio from British specialists Meridian - exclusive surround sound music systems with audiophile-quality sound Displays - state-of-the-art highresolution displays, include the stunning full digital instrument cluster and the central 8-inch touchscreen with Dual-View functionality Voice control and connectivity a seamless connectivity package for mobile devices Climate control - all-new bestin-class climate control systems, including the powerful new premium four-zone system and Park Heater timer facility Luxurious seating - upgraded seating with luxurious new features such as multi-mode massage, and the exclusive new Executive Class rear seating package

Interior illumination - the latest LED illumination for subtle and sophisticated ambient lighting, including the ability to change the colour scheme to suit the driver’s mood To enhance dynamic performance, and to ensure that drivers enjoy a relaxed and stressfree experience behind the wheel, the new Range Rover incorporates a comprehensive range of advanced chassis and driver assistance technologies. Among the new and enhanced features are: Two-channel Dynamic Response active lean control, and Adaptive Dynamics with continuously variable damping Electric Power Assisted Steering, which enables Park Assist - the latest automated technology to help drivers parallel park their car in tight urban parking spots Adaptive Cruise Control - with new Queue Assist feature which allows the system to continue functioning at low speeds and down to a complete stop
