ONE of Dundalk’s best known charity workers, Conor Hughes, celebrated a significant milestone recently with the tenth anniversary of the establishment of a care home to look after children in Romania. Through the Crosscause charity, the Blackrock man has worked tirelessly to improve the plight of children and reaching ten years in existence illustrates just how much a difference Conor and his colleagues have made. After the fall of the Romanian regime headed by Nicolae Ceausescu in 1990 the full extent of the awful conditions the children were forced to live in was revealed as volunteers from all over the world
